As she finished speaking, she felt a weight shift onto the edge of the bed that caused the mattress to dip slightly.
When she looked up again, Lysander was already sitting on the bed. He was tucked up under the covers; his unbuttoned nightshirt was now buttoned up halfway. His alluring, chiseled abs were hidden under the thin fabric of his nightshirt.
Thalassa let out a quiet sigh of relief.
Lysander was holding his phone; his long, slender fingers were tapping on the screen, paying her no mind.
Thalassa withdrew her gaze quietly and returned to the test paper, on which the foreign grammar was as incomprehensible to her as an astronomy textbook.
After wrestling with the problem for a while, she suddenly remembered that she had a genius right beside her.
Why not ask Lysander? He would undoubtedly understand!
She had taken on the task of tutoring this test paper, after all. Now that she had accepted it, she had to do it well.
She wanted Dylan, the young boy she was tutoring, to be impressed with her. She didnât want to embarrass her daughter in front of her classmates.
From time to time, she would turn her head to look at Lysander, hesitant to speak, After repeating this several times, Lysander put down his phone and glanced over at her, âWhat is it?â
Thalassa chuckled nervously and asked humbly for his help, âUm, could you teach me how to use this grammar rule?â
She held the test paper in front of him, pointing to the question she didnât understand.
Instead of looking at the test paper, he riveted his deep-set eyes on her, âThis is your job, not mine.â
The corners of Thalassaâs mouth twitched awkwardly. Of course she knew this was her job. Thatâs why she was asking for his help âI know, but I really donât understand this question and I canât find the answer on my phone,â Thalassa said.
âWhatâs in it for me?â Lysander asked leisurely.
Thalassa paused, then gathered her courage and said, âDylan is the boy Elowen is fond of, and after I tutor him, I can chat with him to know his temperament and preferences. By the way, Iâll casually ask him what he thinks of Elowen.â
This reason successfully persuaded Lysander.
He took the test paper and read the paragraph on it. His pronunciation was clear and fluent.
As his pleasant voice became even more magnetic and seductive, Thalassa was completely captivated.
An exceptional man truly had an irresistible charm.
âDid you understand?â Lysanderâs voice inquired in her ear.
Thalassa snapped back to reality with a confused look on her face, âHuh?â
âThe grammar rule,â Lysander repeated.
Thalassa blinked blankly. She had been so engrossed in his voice and drawn to his charm that she hadnât heard what he had explained.
How embarrassing.
Lysander didnât seem bothered. He wrapped his long arm around her slender waist and pulled her closer to him.
Before Thalassa could even react, she was sitting right next to him, close enough to hear him clearly.
Lysander pointed to the question on the test paper and continued his explanation Thalassa rallied her spirits, leaning in to listen to his explanation with rapt attention.
They were so close that their faces were almost touching. The musky scent of his breath, tinged with a hint of sandalwood, sprayed onto Thalassaâs earlobe.
âDid you understand this time?â Lysander asked, lifting his head. His gaze landed on her flushed earlobe, and something tightened in his throat.
Thalassa also lifted her head and nodded, âI understand now.â
SEEF 6 2 F S F She froze while looking into Lysanderâs deep, ocean-like eyes. Her breath was also hitching.
As their eyes locked, a charged tension filled the air.
Thalassa stared into Lysanderâs deep, smoky eyes; her breath was growing heavier and her heartbeat was quickening.
Lysander lifted her chin with his finger. His face was getting closer, as well as his lips.
Thalassaâs breath hitched. She slowly closed her eyes to wait for his kiss.
