Thalassa could no longer hold back. She stepped forward, kneeling down and enveloping Atticus in a warm embrace, her tears uncontrollably streaming down her cheeks. Her voice was soft, yet filled with warmth, âSilly boy, nobodyâs been bullying your mom. Iâm okay. You have to tell me before you do something next time, okay?â
She had no idea that he was busy doing so much for her behind her back.
All that time, she had thought that she was the one working hard, earning money to raise her children.
But unbeknownst to her, her children were returning the favor in their own little ways.
Perhaps, there was nobody else in this world who loved her as much as her children did.
In their world, she was their everything.
Atticus nestled in Thalassaâs embrace, his tears, which he had been holding back, streamed down his cheeks, soaking Thalassaâs shirt. He was crying so hard that he couldnât speak, So, he nodded his head in response to Thalassaâs words.
Thalassaâs shirt, soaked with his tears, stuck against her skin, seeping into her heart, warming her through and through.
She kissed the top of Atticusâ head, her voice warm as she said, âGood boy. Mom loves you.â
âI love you too,â Atticus managed to whimper.
Evelyn stood off to the side, constantly wiping away her own tears.
Lysander watched the scene unfold, his deep-set eyes growing darker.
After some time/Thalassa managed to calm down and released Atticus. She wiped the tears off his face and looked him straight in the eye, softly telling him, âAtticus, I never realized your talents in technology before. I always thought you were just into video games. But since youâre gifted, you have to study hard. Use your talents and skills for good, like defending our country, protecting our home, or earning money the right way. We have to think twice before doing something like hacking again, okay?â
Atticus nodded his head obediently, listening to her every word.
âI know our Atticus is the best. You have to be a good boy at Royal Estates and listen to your dad.
Youâre the big brother. You have to set a good example for your siblings,â Thalassa gently caressed his young face, advising him.
âMom, are you leaving us?â Atticusâ heart, which had just started to calm down, instantly tightened with fear. The fear was evident in his innocent eyes.
âOf course not. You guys are my little treasures, how could I ever leave you? Itâs just that, living with your dad at Royal Estates, the conditions are better, and it gives me peace of mind. Your dad can provide you guys with the best educational resources,â Thalassa quickly reassured him.
âI donât want to. I want to stay with mom,â Atticus, who usually wasnât the crying type, couldnât hold back his tears upon hearing Thalassaâs words. He dove into Thalassaâs arms, His small hands gripped her shirt, terrified of being separated from her.
âI donât want to be separated from you guys either,â Thalassa said, her gaze shifting to Lysander, seeking his approval.
She hoped he would have reconsidered the matter they had discussed earlier that morning.
As she met Lysanderâs deep, unfathomable eyes, she couldnât tell what he was thinking.
Thalassa was taken aback by his deep gaze and turned away, feeling a sense of loss.
Just when she thought she had lost her chance, Lysanderâs deep voice rang out, âAs long as you guys donât want to, we wonât be separated.â
Thalassa was overjoyed, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she looked at Lysander.
Did he really agree?
Thalassa picked up Atticus, gently wiping the tears off his face. Her voice was gentle but filled with joy, âMom will often go to Royal Estates to see you guys. We wonât be separated.â
âMom, arenât you going to live with us?â Atticus sniffled, his adorable eyes glistening with tears, looking at her expectantly.
Thalassa felt a bit awkward and glanced at Lysander.
His eyes were deep, but he remained silent.
Thalassa said, âMom still needs to find a job, and living at Royal Estates wouldnât be convenient. Iâll come to see you guys and play with you whenever I have time, okay?â
âUm, okayâ¦â Atticus reluctantly agreed.
