The young lad was all set to retaliate when he saw it was Alaric Falconer.
Alaric was a regular at this bar. The bar owner always treated him with utmost respect and care.
He was a big shot.
Immediately, the young lad backed down, apologizing, âMy apologies, Mr. Falconer. I didnât know she was your woman. Iâll steer clear if I see her in the future.â
Alaric wanted to explain that she wasnât his woman, but Lysanderâs.
Before he could speak, the young lad had already retreated into the crowd, clearly intimidated.
Alaric turned around and watched Thalassa behind him.
Thalassa gave him a silly smile, âMr. Falconer, we meet again. You are a barfly indeed.â
âThatâs what I should be saying to you two. Donât you know bars like these are a mixed bag? Are you here with Lysanderâs knowledge?â
In Alaricâs heart, Thalassa was already Lysanderâs woman.
Although they hadnât formally announced their relationship, Lysander had never been so serious about a woman before.
For a few times, he had even caught them immersed in their sweet moments.
Alaric had been at the bar for a while now, observing from afar since Thalassa and Hertha walked in..
He hadnât approached them, just watched the two women drink and eventually get drunk. Thalassa remained seated while Hertha had gone to the dance floor.
âItâs my business why Iâm here. Why does he need to know?â Thalassa responded with a hint of self-
mockery in her smile.
Lysander wouldnât care whether she attended these events or whether she was in danger..
He had taken her kids away from her, which was the cruelest punishment. Now, he had discarded her like an old rag.
She had tried to find him at the Royal Estates, but he refused to see her. He didnât answer her calls and even fired her, leaving her jobless.
She had no value to him anymore, not even as a punching bag for his emotions.
Alaric looked at Thalassa deeply and noticed her sorrowful expression.
âDid you two have a fight? Iâll call him.â Alaric said, taking out his phone to call Lysander.
Meanwhile, at the Royal Estates.
Lysander was surrounded by four toddlers.
Elowen, with tears welling up in her big, innocent eyes, pouted, âWhereâs mommy and grandma? Why havenât we seen them?â
âGive our mommy back.â Dorian declared, his face on the verge of tears, but forcefully holding back; his whole body was straining.
Timidly, Sophia wiped away her tears, âDaddy is a bad guy and we donât want you anymore. We want mommyâ¦â
Atticus summed it up, âYes, we only want mommy!â
Lysanderâs temples throbbed, his face dark.
1 Hadnât he already explained that morning? As long as they behaved and met his standards, heâd consider letting them see their mother.
He had already given them everything they loved. And they had already forgotten his words in just a day?
Indeed, reasoning with children under five was futile.
Lysander rubbed his throbbing temples, his phone ringing in his pocket.
He answered, âWhat is it?â
His voice was somewhat irritable.
Alaric detected it. He raised an eyebrow, âDid you really have a fight with Thalassa? Sheâs drowning her sorrows in alcohol at the bar and flirting with young lads, and your voice sounds like you have a lot of things on your mind. Seems like thereâs really something going on between you two.â
âWhat did you say?â Lysanderâs voice suddenly turned icy cold.
