âWhy?â
Snapping back to reality, Thalassa realized she was pressed against his chest and quickly pulled back, âI came with my mom. Sheâs in the office of the competitionâs organizer. If you donât believe me, I can take you there.â
Thalassa herself wasnât sure why she was explaining in such detail.
But Lysanderâs icy aura was honestly pretty scary.
It felt like if she didnât explain, he would punish her on the spot.
Thalassa was in a real panic.
Atticus was still in the bathroom and the other three kids were in the lounge. She needed to find a way out of this mall and fast.
This place was a spot for her to relax with the kids, but it had suddenly become dangerous with Lysanderâs arrival.
After she finished speaking, she expected him to say, âNo need.â
But instead, he said, âTake me there.â
Thalassa was speechless.
This was not what she was expecting.
Did he really want to meet her mother?
Wasnât it normally a step towards marriage when people met the parents?
But, then again.
Lysander did whatever the hell he wanted, and he didnât do what he didnât want to do.
For him, meeting the parents and getting married could be totally unrelated.
L Just like he had no intention of marrying her, but could still take her home to meet his grandparents.
Thalassaâs heart was racing.

She said, âMr. Sinclair, my mom is busy in the office. Itâs not a good time to interrupt her, and thatâs why I came out.â
âWhatâs so urgent that she canât be disturbed? Take me there.â Lysander approached her, his presence was overwhelming. Feeling the strong masculine pheromones, Thalassa felt threatened.
Like a frightened rabbit, Thalassa quickly backed away, running to the door saying, âOkay, Iâll take you there now.â
Thalassa led the way, anxious and worried.
Evelyn was in the office discussing something with Bruce while the three kids were in the lounge eating.
Atticus was still in the restroom.
What if she took too long and Atticus ran into some bad people who tried to take him away?
But with Lysander watching, she couldnât make a phone call to get someone to pick up Atticus.
They soon arrived at the office of the food competitionâs organizer.
The office door was closed, but it was a wooden door with a transparent glass panel in the middle.
From the outside, one could clearly see what was happening inside.
Thalassa stopped and was about to knock. When she saw what was happening inside, she turned pale.
The hand she had raised to knock hung in mid-air.
Evelyn was leaning against the desk, continuously pushing away a middle-aged man.
That middle-aged man was Bruce.
Bruce continued to pressure Evelyn, even grabbing her hand and moving his face closer to hers, while Evelyn kept dodging.
Clearly, a scene of coercion was playing out.
The door was poorly soundproofed, and all the sounds came through.
âBruce, stay away from me! If you take one more step, youâll regret it!â Evelyn sounded furious, yelling out.
Bruceâs words were shameless and completely unrestrained, âEvelyn, youâre not a young girl anymore.
Stop playing hard to get. Weâve had our thing. Thalassa is my daughter, donât think I donât know it.
Come on, letâs relive the old times.â
Then Bruce tried to force a kiss on Evelyn.
