Lysander snatched the phone from Thalassaâs hand and started typing a string of numbers on the screen.
After he finished, he handed the phone back to her.
Thalassa watched as he handled the phone. His fingers were long and attractive, with clearly defined knuckles. Although she wasnât particularly drawn to menâs hands, the sight of his fingers made her heart beat faster.
She now understood the fascination some people had with good-looking hands. A pair of beautiful hands indeed could make her heart flutter.
Thalassaâs heartbeat faltered for a moment, and she quickly took the phone from his hands.
The screen displayed his phone number.
Thalassa tapped âsaveâ and then started typing a name for the contact..
Lysander watched her. When he saw her type âMr. Sinclairâ as the contact name, he looked distinctly displeased.
Just as she finished, she felt a chilling gaze on her. She looked up to meet Lysanderâs deep eyes, which were like a black hole, seemingly ready to swallow her up. She couldnât help feeling a little panicked.
She couldnât understand why, so she quietly asked, âMr. Sinclair, is something wrong?â
Lysanderâs gaze was icy. He stared at her face, emitting a stifling tension.
Thalassa found it hard to breathe. She had no idea what she had done wrong.
âWhy is Leopold saved by his first name, but me as Mr. Sinclair? Thalassa, are you still confused about whose woman you are?â Lysanderâs voice was threatening as he stepped closer to her.
His steps were leisurely but intimidating. Each step closer made her more and more frightened. âIâm sorry, Mr. Sinclair, my bad.ââ
After she said this, Lysanderâs eyes instantly grew colder.
Noticing his change, she quickly said, âLysander, Iâm sorry, Iâll change it right away.â
As she spoke, she held the phone, nervously changing the contact name. His masculine hormones were palpable, threatening to engulf her at any misstep.
Thalassa was in a panic, her fingers trembling as she typed.
Luckily, Lysander was not a difficult name to type. She quickly finished, held up the phone to show him the screen, and said, almost in a tone of seeking approval, âLook, Iâve changed it.â
Lysander glanced at the screen, which now displayed his name. Then he looked at Thalassa, her face flushed from nervousness and her clear eyes full of fear, clearly startled.
He straightened up and said coldly, âBe careful in the future. Donât let me have to remind you again who you belong to.â
Thalassa nodded repeatedly, âI know, I understand.â
She had to pacify him first.
She couldnât argue with him, or she might be punished in his own way.
She answered quickly, and Lysander seemed satisfied. He gave her a deep look and then left the room.
The moment the door closed, Thalassa finally exhaled. She was safe for now.
That night, she didnât dare to sleep on the bed and curled up on the sofa instead.
At first, she stayed alert, but eventually, due to exhaustion, she fell asleep.
Suddenly, a ringing phone jolted Thalassa awake.
She opened her eyes to find that it was already daylight. She picked up the phone, slid the answer button, rubbed her sleepy eyes, and lazily said, âHello?â
âYou little brat, you didnât come back all night. What were you doing, working all night?â Evelynâs loud reprimand came through from the other end.
Thalassa immediately woke up and replied somewhat guiltily, âYes, yes.â
