Thalassa glanced around, not spotting Lysander, and finally relaxed enough to pull out her phone and dial Evelyn.
âWhat are you up to? Iâm in the middle of a poker game with friends. Can you stop bothering me?â
Evelyn started to complain as soon as the call connected.
Knowing time was of the essence, Thalassa ignored her and cut to the chase: âMom, you need to hurry home. The kids are asleep by themselves, Iâm out and not at home.â
âWhat? How could you do that? Leaving the kids alone at home in the middle of the night, arenât you afraid theyâd wake up and not find you, fall out the window, or get taken by some bad guys?â Evelynâs sharp reprimand resonated clearly through the phone.
Thalassa was especially anxious because she was worried something might happen to the kids.
She couldnât help but feel like crying, âMom, I didnât want to, but my boss had something come up last minute. I thought Iâd be back soon, but Iâm still not back.â
âAlright, alright, you go do your work. Iâll finish this round and head back.â With that, Evelyn hung up.
Thalassa put down her phone, letting out a sigh of relief.
Just then, the door was pushed open, and a powerful presence approached.
Feeling the oppressive atmosphere, Thalassa began to sweat nervously. She turned around to see Lysander walking towards her.
Heâd changed from his wet clothes into a dark grey silk pajama set, oozing a masculine appeal and charm.
His handsome exterior was almost unbelievable.
His tall figure exuded a sense of opulence. His presence was overpowering, causing Thalassa to instinctively step back in alarm, âMr. Sinclair.â
Lysander approached her, extending his hand, âGive me your phone.â
His voice was cold, leaving no room for debate.
Thalassa swallowed hard, explaining, âI was just calling my mom, afraid she might worry seeing Iâm not home this late.â
âGive it to me, donât make me repeat myself!â Lysanderâs words were cold and heartless.
Thalassaâs heart pounded. She felt helpless and had no choice but to hand him her phone.
Lysander snatched the phone from her hands, slid it unlocked, and found it password-protected.
His penetrating gaze fixed on her, âPassword!â
Thalassa bit her lip, whispering, â123456.â
Lysander gave her a puzzled look, input the password, and sure enough, it unlocked.
She seemed cautious, yet her password was so simple.
Lysander swiped over to the call log.
The top entry was marked Evelyn.
Thalassaâs motherâs name.
Below Evelyn was a name that made Lysanderâs gaze turn even colder.
That name was Leopold!
She had spoken to Leopold just today!
Lysander handed her the phone, âBlock that number!â
Thalassa took the phone but didnât immediately understand which number he wanted her to block.
Did he want her to block her momâs number?
That was her own mother.
Taking the phone, she noticed the name beneath Evelynâs in the call log was Leopold.
He must have meant for her to block Leopoldâs number, right?
Thalassa had a sudden realization, replying, âAlright.â
She complied with his wishes and blocked Leopold.
£ £ £ £ 5 3 £ & PE Just now, he was about to blow his top at her.
Thalassa didnât dare provoke him further, fearing she might be unable to bear the consequences.
She blocked Leopold without hesitation, which made Lysanderâs gaze inscrutable. It was hard to tell what he was thinking.
âDo you have my number saved?â he suddenly asked.
Thalassa was taken aback, her clear eyes full of confusion as she stared at him, blinking twice.
âMr. Sinclair, I donât even know your number,â Thalassa replied.
