Thalassa was jittery as hell. She immediately apologized, âIâm so sorry. Mr. Sinclair, I had no idea you w ere coming.â
She quickly grabbed the door handle, swinging the door wide open.
As Lysanderâs piercing gaze shifted away from her and he walked in, a chill seemed to sweep through the air. It was as if a cold gust of wind hit Thalassa right in the face, making her scared shitless.
She kept her head down, not daring to even glance at Lysanderâs clothes.
Damn, it was scary David followed suit, stepping into the room. Spotting Thalassa, he said in a low voice, âMs. Everhart, fancy seeing you here alreadyâ
Thalassa gave an embarrassed chuckle, âDavid, youâre so nice.â
In the conference room.
The long conference table was filled on both sides with the companyâs bigwigs, with Lysander sitting at the head.
He wore a customâmade, allâblack suit that radiated an air of unmatchable opulence, right down to the cufflinks. His tall frame was comfortably positioned in a black leather chair, and his presence dominated the room.
Even the companyâs President, Leopold, had to take a seat below him.
Everyone held their breath, treading on eggshells.
Thalassa, nerves on edge, walked over to the multimedia computer and loaded up the PowerPoint slid es.
As soon as she had it going, she straightened up, waiting for the meeting to start.
Suddenly, she noticed that everyone at the table had a weird look on their faces. Some were even pulli ng faces at her.
Thalassa was taken aback. What the hell was going on?
Just as Thalassa was wondering, Lysanderâs deep gaze landed on her.
His deep and inscrutable eyes were like the unfathomable night sky.
Thalassaâs heart started racing. Had she done something wrong? Why was he looking at her like that?
Damn, it was creepy.
Leopold covered his mouth, clearing his throat.
Thalassa was still clueless.
Leopold had no choice but to clue her in, âMs. Everhart, youâve loaded the wrong PowerPoint slides.â
Thalassa quickly turned to the screen, only to see a picture of Peppa Pig displayed!
Oh crap, she had grabbed the wrong flash drive.
Panicked and blushing. Thalassa hastily unplugged the drive and replaced it (with the correct one.
She apologized awkwardly, âIâm so sorry. I grabbed the wrong flash drive, itâs sorted now.â
She switched the drive and the workârelated content started playing on the big screen.
Everyone in the room stared at her with bemused looks.
Noticing that she was now in the company, one of the senior managers said in a snarky tone, âMs. Ever hart, this is a senior management meeting, not a preschool multimedia class. Try to stay focused next ti me.â
Thalassa quickly nodded and apologized, âIâm sorry, Iâll be careful next time.â
Thinking he had done a good deed, the senior manager turned to Lysander and said with a smile, âMr.
Sinclair, apologies for the delay. Weâll make sure to tell her off later.â
Lysanderâs face remained impassive, his eyes sharply focused on the manâs name tag.
âYou may leave,â Lysander said, his voice soft but full of authority.
The senior managerâs smile froze on his face and he abruptly stood up, looking terrified as he scurried out of the room.
Had he crossed a line?
The look in Lysanderâs eyes earlier was downright terrifying.
The atmosphere in the room was tense, cold, and oppressive.
No one dared to make a peep.
Thalassa also kept her head down, trying her best to stay under the radar.
This meeting was a complete nightmare.
An hour later, the meeting finally ended.
Thalassa returned to her office and immediately poured herself a glass of water to calm her nerves.
She had never imagined that after leaving the Sinclair group, sheâd find herself in another pickle at Leo ssa Tech Co., Ltd.
