David cut off Evelyn midâsentence.
He waved his hand to the security guard, signaling him to escort a woman out.
âPlease show this lady the door,â he said, before quickly following Lysanderâs strides.
The guards approached Evelyn and grabbed her by the arms.
âGet off me!â Evelyn protested, furious. âThis isnât fair!â
âHold up!â Thalassa rushed over, maintaining a polite smile. âLet me handle this; you guys have done enough.â
âThalassa, theyâve really crossed the line.â Evelyn vented as soon as she saw Thalassa.
Thalassa kept her smile, comforting her. âI know, I know. Just take a breather.â
Seeing that the two women knew each other, the guards released Evelyn. âAs employees of the Sinclai r Group, we canât let personal grudges get in the way of business, especially not with Mr. Sinclair,â one of them said to Thalassa.
âI get it; it wonât happen again. Thanks.â Thalassa nodded in gratitude.
The guards left and Evelyn was still fuming.
Thalassa comforted her and took her to the break room.
in the break room, it was just the two of them.
Thalassa let out a sigh of frustration: âMom, didnât I tell you not to come to the company looking for our boss?â
If I hadnât come, who knows what kind of attitude our boss might have? Whatâs this about a line of women wanting to marry him long enough to fi ll a train? He should take a ood look at who my daughter is first. Heâs clearly looking down on me. Plus, with so many women around Lysander, how can he handle them all? Thalassa, you canât throw ourself into this.â Evelyn raged. Thalassa nodded.
heâd heard what David said earlier.
pparently, everyone was aware that only a rich princess was worthy of Lysander.
sander had never considered marrying her.
e gave her a villa and made her his secretary, all to make up for hurting her five years ago.
he had misunderstood him, thinking his sense of responsibility meant he wanted to marry her.
ne naively thought she could give her children a complete family.
kay, Iâll stop right now. Iâll return the villa to him and cut all ties,â Thalassa said.
elyn frowned. âThe villa was a gift from him; you have no reason to return it! He hurt you so there has to be some compensation! You canât return the villa! Just keep your stance from him.â
e villa was their old house, built on their land, and Thalassaâs aunt lived there.
she gave the villa back, Evelyn wouldnât have anywhere to live.
tha atâs more, considering the deep hurt Lysander had inflicted on her daughter, compensating with a villa was the least he could do.
thers looked down on them, they wouldnât stick around.
alassa nodded lightly and said to Evelyn, âLet me take you home, mom.â
need; you have work. I can go by myself. The kids are at the neighborsâ; I need to get back.â Evelyn stood up and hurriedly left.
elassa saw Evelyn off and called a cab for her before returning to the company.
the front desk, Cherry curiously asked her, âThalassa, who was that older lady with you earlier?â
hout hiding anything, Thalassa said bluntly, âThatâs my mom.â
erryâs mouth fell open in surprise. âWow, she said sheâs Mr. Sinclairâs future motherâinâlaw, so youâre?â
it did vou say Thalaccaâe mom is My Cinelaide but th
