Thalassa felt a pang of guilt for coming home injured and worrying her family.
However, seeing her kids so concemed about her and showering her with love and care, she felt comfo rted.
No matter how much sheâd been wronged outside, she knew sheâd find healing once she got home.
Having her four kids was the best decision sheâd ever made in her life.
With them, she had the greatest happiness.
âMom, uh, you look so pathetic, sald Dorian, his tiny body snuggled in her arms, his bright eyes fixed o n her wound, and his lips puckered as if he was feeling her pain.
Her daughter, Elowen, was also distressed, her big eyes glistening with tears. She jumped off the couc h and leaned over Thalassaâs foot her lips puckening as she said, âDonât cry, Mom; Elowen will blow on it for you. It wonât hurt if I blow on it.â
After saying that, she put her little mouth near her momâs wound and gently blew on it.
Her oldest son, Atticus, watched all this, his calm little face taking on a serious expression. He was sure someone had wronged his mom.
He was a man so he had to protect his mom. He had to find out who had hurt her and make them apolo gize!
Evelyn also noticed the wound on Thalassaâs foot. Although she was sharpâ
tongued, her heart was as soft as cotton candy. She scolded, âWhere on earth have you been? Runnin g around all night, even got your foot cut?â
Thalassa was originally sad, but she couldnât help but laugh at these words.
She looked at Evelyn with a smile and said, âMom, your imagination is really wild.â
âSo, where did you go to end up like this? Evelyn was firm, not allowing Thalassa to evade any further.
Thalassa looked at her motherâs expression, knowing that she wouldnât let it go until she explained.
She also looked at her childrenâs expectant eyes.
She knew they were all worried about her, and sheâd be letting them down if she hid anything else.
So she said, âI went on a date last night.â
âA date?â This answer surprised everyone.
Evelyn was puzzled. The kids were amazed.
Thalassa watched their reactions.
Evelyn looked thrilled.
And the kids, their eyes wide open, their mouths forming an O, Was this answer really that shocking?
Thalassa hurriedly explained, âBut I got stood up. I was upset about it and thatâs why I cried on momâs s houlder.â
She quickly got to the heart of the matter.
Evelyn was just happy that Thalassa was dating, excitedly thinking that Thalassa finally had a boyfriend .
After five years, finally, a man was willing to accept the fact that she had four kids and wanted to be wit h her.
Just when she was happy. Thalassaâs next words dealt her a heavy blow.
She was heartbroken?
Evelyn instantly turned serious: âExplain to me, what do you mean by heartbroken? Why would you be heartbr oken?â
âMom, do you need a reason to be heartbroken?â Thalassa tried to avoid her motherâs intense gaze.
Originally, she planned to come home this morning and tell Evelyn that Lysander was the father of her c hildren.
â
After all, Lysander was willing to take responsibility, and she wanted her kids to have a chance to reunit e with their father and feel his love.
But what happened this morning threw her plans for a loop.
