He couldnât let his grandparents run wild anymore.
Since he decided to refuse, he had to refuse decisively.
Lysander hung up the phone after saying that.
He turned to Thalassa again, his voice much softer than before, âGo on.â
Thalassa looked into his deep, dark eyes, it felt like a cold current suddenly surged into her heart, maki ng her shiver, feeling lost and heartbroken.
Lysander just said he didnât like kids, thought they were annoying, he found them bothersome.
Would he be upset if she told him now that she had already given birth to his four children?
Thalassa suddenly calmed down, she didnât know Lysander well yet, didnât know his preferences or his temper.
Although he had once said he would take responsibility for her, it was only her, not the children.
He disliked children so much. She feared that once she said it, he would be disgusted and hurt her children.
Thalassa paused, feeling a bit nervous, she quickly made an excuse, âI tried to find you before, but I failed.â
âI went to your house, but you were having a funeral. Isabella said you were dead,â Lysander didnât hid e the fact that he had been looking for her.
Now he was being honest with Thalassa, he had fully understood the truth.
Isabella and Faye had deceived him together!
This was unforgivable! He would definitely settle scores with them.
Thalassa was shocked, her heart pounding like a hammer striking a bell, thump after thump, extremely heavy.
She said, âThe one who died that year was our familyâs sow, and the funeral was for that sow. Isabella actually said I was dead! Thatâs so mean!â
No wonder Isabella had strongly advised her mother to hold a funeral for the sow. It turned out to be a s mokescreen, making Lysander mistakenly think she was dead.
Thinking of Isabellaâs actions, Thalassa felt her chest heaving with anger, her eyes moist.
But it was strange, how did Isabella know about her and Lysander?
Just as she was about to ask Lysander, Lysanderâs phone rang again, and he picked it up.
âLysander, your grandma had a heart attack, hurry to the hospital!â Zephyrâs anxious voice came over t he phone as soon as it connected.
Although his grandparents would sometimes fake being unwell to scare him, this time seemed real.
Lysander also started to worry, saying, âSend me your location. Iâll be right over.â
After hanging up, he instructed David, âTurn around and head to the hospital once we reach Hollowbro ok.â
Hollowbrook was just ahead, and David drove to the entrance of the village.
Thalassa knew Lysander was in a hurry, she quickly said, âStop here, Iâll get off here.â
David stopped the car, and Thalassa got out.
Not far ahead, four children were running towards her with short, clumsy steps, each one like a little pe nguin, very cute.
âMommy!â
Thalassa was startled. Damn it, Lysanderâs car hadnât left yet.
