Hertha was freaked out as she said, âThalassa, how did you end up actually getting locked up here?
You didnât spread any rumors, and even if you did, surely it wouldnât land you in here! Damn the Sinclair group, Iâm definitely going to give them a piece of my mind!â
Hertha was pissed off.
âMomâ¦â
âMomâ¦â
Atticus and Dorian saw Thalassa locked up; their little eyes were filled with tears, and it was breaking their hearts.
Thalassa quickly comforted Atticus and Dorian by saying, âMomâs tough, okay? This is just temporary.
Trust me, Iâll find a way to get out of here fair and square.â
âOkay!â Atticus nodded. He believed in his mom.
Dorian clung to Thalassaâs hand, rubbing his little face in her palm, whining, âMomâ¦â
Feeling Dorianâs soft touch, Thalassa felt warmth seeping into her heart.
She had felt sorry for herself, but hearing Dorian, she suddenly felt invigorated, not pitiful at all.
She was a mother, her kids still needed her.
If she broke down, what would happen to her kids?
As a mother, she had to stay strong!
No matter what, she couldnât give in, she couldnât back down.
She smiled and stroked Dorianâs little face as she said, âDorian, youâre the big brother. You have to set an example for your sisters. When we get home, you canât cry or say that momâs pitiful. Tell grandma and your sisters that momâs fine, just working overtime to earn money for yummy treats, okay?â
Dorian wiped his tears, pouting, trying not to cry, but he couldnât control his emotions. Even though he was trying to hold it in, his chin was trembling, and his eyes were filled with tears.
Seeing this, Thalassa couldnât help but laugh, her face full of affection, âYou can cry now, but when we get home, you canât.â
Hearing this, Dorianâs tears gushed out like a waterfall.
Atticus came forward, holding Darianâs tiny body in his arms, his small hand stroking Dorianâs head.
âDorian, donât cry. We have to believe in mom.â
Dorian nodded.
Looking at her two little ones, Thalassaâs eyes welled up. She then turned to Hertha and said, âHertha, I didnât get locked up for spreading rumors. It was a problem with the Sinclair groupâs fashion show, and the internal design drawings were leaked to competitor.â
âSo, they think you leaked the designs?â Hertha understood, her eyes wide with shock.
Thalassa nodded, and with a serious expression, she said, âI was framed. I suspect itâs the same person who framed me with the rumors.â
âWhat do we do now?â Hertha was confused.
âHertha, you go home first, If my mom asks, just tell her Iâm working overtime,â Thalassa instructed.
âBut what about you.â Hertha was worried about her.
âDonât worry, Iâll find a way to prove my innocence.â Thalassaâs voice was resolute.
Hertha and Thalassa had been good friends for many years, and she knew her well.
Seeing the determination and resolution in her eyes, she knew Thalassa had a plan.
So, she left with the two kids.
As Thalassa watched Hertha leave with the children, her eyes were downcast. The more she thought about it, the more she believed the rumor and theft were connected, like a trap specifically set for her.
