Trey wake up first. He always do. Zay sleep heavy, all curled up under the covers like he don't got a care in the world. Trey watch him for a second, taking in the way his lashes rest against his cheeks, the slow rise and fall of his chest. Peaceful.

But Trey got shit to do today.

Careful not to wake Zay, he slides out the bed, grabbing his phone off the nightstand. He got a couple missed texts from Aliyah, asking if he sent the money for her books. He already did, but he send her a quick message to confirm before heading to the bathroom.

By the time he out the shower and dressed, Zay still ain't moved. Trey shake his head, sitting on the edge of the bed and rubbing a hand down Zay's back. "Baby, get up."

Zay groans, burying his face in the pillow. "Five more minutes, Pa."

Trey chuckles. "You said that twenty minutes ago."

Zay peeks out at him, eyes still heavy with sleep. "You lying."

"Nah." Trey leans down, pressing a kiss to his forehead. "I gotta head out. You got work today?"

Zay stretch, bones popping as he shifts onto his back. "Nah, I'm off." Then he smirks. "Which mean you should stay home wit' me."

Trey shakes his head. "You know I can't do that, love. Gotta get this money."

Zay pout, grabbing onto Trey's wrist. "So you just gon' leave me all lonely n' shit?"

Trey laughs, shaking his head as he pries Zay's fingers off him. "I'll be back later. Go link wit' your peoples or sum."

Zay roll his eyes but sit up anyway, rubbing at his face. "Aight, aight. Go be a grown man or whatever."

Trey smirk, grabbing his keys. "You know it."

Trey don't get back home 'til later in the evening. Work was work-long, draining, but necessary. His phone been buzzing all day, mostly Zay sending him random ass texts, complaining about being bored or telling him some wild shit one of his friends said. Trey just shake his head, pushing open the apartment door.

Zay stretched out on the couch, scrolling through his phone. Soon as he see Trey, he sit up. "Damn, took you long enough."

Trey drop his keys on the table. "You missed me or sum?"

Zay suck his teeth. "Ain't nobody miss your ass."

Trey just smirk, kicking his shoes off before dropping onto the couch beside him. "Mm-hmm. That why you been blowin' my phone up all day?"

Zay roll his eyes but don't argue. Instead, he climb into Trey's lap like it's second nature, making himself comfortable. "Shut up."

Trey wrap an arm around his waist, resting his chin on Zay's shoulder. "What you do today?"

"Chilled, linked wit' Rico for a bit. Nigga talk too much."

Trey chuckles. "I know."

They sit like that for a while, comfortable, just enjoying being back in the same space. Then Zay shift, looking up at Trey with that little mischievous smirk.

"You tired?"

Trey eye him. "Why?"

Zay bite his lip, fingers tracing the back of Trey's neck. "Cause I was thinkin'..."

Trey shake his head before Zay even finish. "Nah, love. You not finna wear me out tonight."

Zay fake a pout. "You so mean."

Trey chuckle, pressing a kiss to his jaw. "And you spoiled."

Zay grin. "Damn right."
