Zay been in a mood all day. Not a real one, not one of them "leave me alone" moods-just one of them slick, petty, wanna-pick-a-fight moods. Trey can tell from the way he been moving, huffing under his breath, rolling his eyes when Trey say something, and giving half-ass answers like he don't feel like talking. But he do, 'cause every time Trey actually stop talking, Zay find a reason to start up again.
Trey been letting him cook, though. He already know Zay get like this sometimes-act like he don't want attention but still be all up under him, waiting for Trey to give it anyway. And normally, Trey would just let him play his little game. But now? Now Zay done gone and pushed it.
It start when Trey in the kitchen making himself a sandwich. Just his. Zay already ate, said he ain't want nothing when Trey asked. But the second Trey sit down with his plate, Zay lean against the counter, arms crossed, looking at him like he just committed a crime.
"So you ain't make me one?"
Trey look up at him, chewing slow. "You said you ain't want one."
Zay suck his teeth. "And? You shoulda made one anyway."
Trey set his sandwich down, licking a crumb off his thumb. "You grown as hell, Zay. You want one, go make one."
Zay tilt his head, eyes narrowing, and Trey already know what's coming before Zay even open his mouth. "I swear, you be actin' so damn-"
"Don't start," Trey cut him off, voice low but firm. "I done let you have your lil attitude all day, but what we not finna do is act like I ain't ask you if you wanted something. You got a problem? Speak on it. But don't be on that petty shit with me."
Zay stare at him for a second, lips pressed together, before he look away, mumbling something under his breath.
Trey raise a brow. "What?"
"I said I ain't got a problem," Zay mutter, shifting his weight.
Trey shake his head, smirking a little as he pick his sandwich back up. "Aight, then. Thought so."
Zay stay quiet for a minute, just standing there, eyes flicking to Trey's plate. Trey sighs, then take one more bite before holding out the other half of his sandwich. "C'mere."
Zay try to keep his little attitude up, but Trey can see the way his lips twitch, like he fighting a smile. He roll his eyes, stepping forward to snatch the sandwich out of Trey's hand. "You still actin' funny."
Trey chuckle, grabbing Zay's wrist and pulling him into his lap. "And you still talkin' shit," he murmur against Zay's neck, pressing a slow kiss there.
Zay huff like he annoyed, but he don't move away. If anything, he lean in closer, resting against Trey's chest while he eat.
Trey smirk. "Mm-hmm. Thought so."
