Trey's POV

It's been a week since Zay moved in, and I ain't gonna lie-having him here feel natural as hell.

Ain't no awkward shit. Ain't no adjusting. He just fit. He be up under me when he feel like it, running his mouth 'bout whatever's on his mind, or curled up on the couch with my hoodie on, scrolling his phone like he don't wanna be bothered.

And me? I let him do whatever.

Right now, he laid across the bed, playing in my hair, nails scratching light over my scalp while we watch some old-ass movie he put on. My eyes closed, but I ain't sleep. Just comfortable.

"You like me livin' here, huh?" he says, smug as hell.

I smirk, eyes still shut. "It's aight."

He scoffs, tugging one of my twists. Not hard, just enough to get my attention. "Boy, be for real."

I chuckle, cracking one eye open. "Yeah, love. I like you bein' here."

That satisfy him. I can tell by the way he hums, his fingers sliding slow through my hair again.

He real easy to please sometimes. Just wanna know he wanted.

The next morning, I wake up to an empty bed. Ain't nothing new-Zay don't sleep late like me, and if I don't pull him back down, he'll be up moving around.

I hear him in the kitchen, singing under his breath, and when I step out, I see him at the stove, standing on one foot like the other tired, making some eggs.

I lean against the doorway, arms crossed. "Since when you cook?"

He glances back at me, smirking. "Boy, I been cookin'."

I raise a brow. "Yeah? This gon' be edible?"

His mouth drops open, offended as hell. "Don't play with me, Pa."

I chuckle, walking up behind him and sliding my arms around his waist. "I'm just askin'."

He huffs, but he lean back into me, letting me hold him. "It's gon' be good."

I kiss his temple. "Aight, love. I trust you."

Zay's POV

After we eat, Trey gotta go to work, and I gotta figure out what I'm doin' with my day.

I still got my job, but I don't work til later, so I just chill for a minute, scrolling through my phone. I think about hitting up my homeboy for a cut, then decide against it. Might as well wait til Trey off, so we can go together.

I look up when Trey steps out the bedroom, pulling on his jacket. He always look good, but somethin' about him gettin' dressed for work do somethin' to me.

I bite my lip, watching him. "You leavin' already?"

"Yeah, love," he says, grabbing his keys. "You need somethin'?"

I stretch out on the couch, watching him real lazy. "Nah."

He steps over, leaning down and pressing a kiss to my forehead. "I'll be back later."

I smirk, grabbing his wrist before he can pull away. "Bring me somethin'."

He chuckles, shaking his head. "You somethin' else."

But we both know he gon' bring me somethin'.
