The quiet in Trey's room felt different. Warmer. More intimate. The soft light from the bedside lamp threw gentle shadows against the walls, and Zay could hear the steady rhythm of Trey's breath next to him.

Zay had never imagined it would feel this way. It wasn't just the aftershocks of sex, or the physical pleasure that still lingered on his skin-it was the quiet peace that settled over them. The kind that happened after you let go, after you shared something real with someone.

Zay rolled onto his side, his chest rising and falling slow, like he was still catching his breath from everything that went down between them. He let his fingers trace the outline of Trey's arm, the muscles under the skin still warm from their closeness.

Trey shifted slightly, his arm coming around Zay's waist and pulling him closer. Zay didn't pull away-he was too comfortable like this, with Trey's body pressed against his back, his breath soft against the back of his neck.

Zay's voice was low when he spoke, just above a whisper. "You good?"

Trey grunted, his grip tightening ever so slightly around Zay's waist. "Yeah. You?"

Zay nodded, not trusting his voice just yet. He didn't want to break the moment. They didn't need words right now. It was enough just being here, together.

After a few moments, Zay shifted so he was facing Trey, his eyes flickering to Trey's lips, still swollen from their kisses. The cool air from the window chilled his skin, but Trey's warmth made him feel safe, made him feel like he could stay here forever.

Trey looked back at him, his expression soft, almost unreadable. But there was a gentleness in his eyes that Zay wasn't used to seeing. It made his chest tighten, like he wanted to be close to Trey even more, like he wanted to bury himself in the way Trey made him feel-protected, cared for, seen.

Zay didn't think he'd ever be the type to get clingy. He thought that shit was corny. But with Trey? With him, Zay didn't mind. He didn't mind at all.

Without even thinking, Zay leaned forward, pressing his lips to Trey's in a soft kiss. It wasn't the hungry, desperate kind of kiss they'd shared earlier-it was slow, easy, a simple expression of the closeness they had now.

Trey kissed him back, pulling Zay even closer, his lips brushing against Zay's with a tenderness that made Zay feel like he was the only thing in the world that mattered. When they pulled apart, Trey gave him a small smile, something genuine, and for a moment, Zay felt like he could breathe for the first time in his life.

"I don't know why I was trippin' before," Zay muttered, looking away for a second, embarrassed by his own vulnerability.

Trey chuckled softly, his thumb gently rubbing over Zay's shoulder. "You don't gotta be all tough with me, Zay."

"I ain't tough," Zay replied, even though his words felt weak now. "I just..." He didn't know how to finish the thought. He wasn't good at this-wasn't good at being soft, at letting someone in. But with Trey, it felt easier.

Trey's hand found its way to the back of Zay's neck, fingers threading into his hair. He leaned in, kissing Zay's forehead lightly before pulling him back into his arms. "I know, baby."

Zay didn't argue. He let Trey pull him close again, this time settling his head against Trey's chest. The rhythmic sound of Trey's heartbeat was enough to lull him into a sense of calm. He could've stayed like this forever, wrapped up in Trey's arms, no words needed.

But after a few moments, Zay finally spoke again, his voice small but real. "I'm glad you're here."

Trey's hand ran up and down his back, soothing him in a way Zay didn't even realize he needed. "I'm always gonna be here, Zay. Don't gotta say it, I already know."

Zay smiled to himself, settling deeper into the comfort of Trey's embrace. For the first time in a long while, Zay felt like he was exactly where he was supposed to be.
