Chapter 29 - Weight on Me

Ghetto love500 words~3 min read

Zay wasn't even thinking about nothing serious. Just stretched out on Trey's couch, scrolling through his phone, one arm tucked behind his head. Trey's place was always quiet-too quiet sometimes. No TV on, no background noise, just him moving around, the occasional sound of cars outside. It was different from Zay's momma's house, where something was always going on.

He was halfway through a dumb meme when he felt the couch dip. Then a whole lot of weight settled on top of him.

"Damn, nigga-" Zay started, but Trey ain't move, just got comfortable like Zay was his personal mattress.

Trey was stretched out over him, head buried in Zay's neck, his weight pressing him deeper into the couch. He ain't say nothing. Just breathed slow, warm against Zay's skin.

Zay blinked, his phone slipping out his hand onto his chest. "Uh... you good?"

Trey hummed low, like he wasn't planning on moving anytime soon.

Zay felt his whole body tense up for a second, but then he exhaled, relaxing under him. It was warm, heavy, but not in a bad way. Trey wasn't crushing him, just... there. Holding him without even really holding him.

Zay smirked, his voice quieter now. "So we just doin' this now?"

Trey didn't answer. Just shifted slightly, arms slipping around Zay's waist like it was second nature.

Zay swallowed, heart doing something weird in his chest. His hands moved on their own, resting on Trey's back, fingers tracing slow over the fabric of his hoodie.

They stayed like that. No talking, no playing, just breathing the same air.

Zay closed his eyes, letting his head rest against the couch. "You real comfortable, huh?"

Trey made a sound that was damn near a mumble. "Mhm."

Zay huffed out a small laugh, his hand moving up, brushing the back of Trey's neck. "You heavy as fuck, though."

Trey shifted slightly but ain't move off him. "You can take it."

Zay bit his lip, fighting a grin. "Oh, word?"

Trey still didn't lift his head. "Shut up."

Zay chuckled, fingers sliding under Trey's hoodie just slightly, palm warm against his skin. He felt Trey exhale against his neck, then shift even closer, like he was settling in for real.

Zay licked his lips, voice softer now. "You tryna go to sleep on me, huh?"

Trey finally lifted his head, just enough to look Zay in the eye. His gaze was slow, heavy-lidded, like he wasn't all the way awake. He ain't say nothing-just looked at him, then pressed a lazy kiss to his jaw.

Zay's breath caught for half a second. Then Trey kissed him again, slower this time, right below his ear.

Zay exhaled through his nose. "Aight, damn..."

Trey smirked slightly against his skin before dropping his head back down.

Zay let his fingers slide up the back of Trey's head, messing with his hair a little.

Trey just hummed again, grip tightening slightly around Zay's waist.

And Zay? He ain't even mad at it.
