Chapter 25 - All About You

The day had rolled by slowly, the kind of day where everything felt calm but still buzzing with the promise of something more. Trey had finished his errands, had a workout, and now he was back at his place. Zay was already there, lounging on the couch with his phone in hand, the usual smirk tugging at the corner of his lips when he saw Trey walk in.

Trey tossed his keys on the counter, looking over at Zay. "You just gonna stay in my spot all day?"

Zay looked up from his phone, eyes lighting up as he stood. "Why not? Ain't nobody else around." He walked over, moving like he had all the time in the world. "You don't mind, do you?"

Trey shrugged, but the way his eyes softened told a different story. "You good here. Just don't get too comfortable."

Zay chuckled, coming up to Trey and standing just a little too close. "Already too late for that," he said, teasing, and Trey couldn't help but chuckle too.

Zay reached out, pulling Trey by the collar, bringing him just a little closer. "What's up with you, though? You bein' all quiet and shit."

Trey didn't say anything right away, but when Zay didn't let go, he looked down at the younger man, letting the distance between them shrink. "I was just thinkin'," he said, his voice softer now.

"Thinkin' 'bout what?" Zay asked, voice low, smooth. His fingers lightly grazed Trey's chest, making Trey's heart skip a beat even though he tried to act like it wasn't affecting him.

Trey just watched him for a moment, the silence thick between them. Then, without saying another word, he closed the gap. His lips brushed against Zay's in a soft kiss, like he was testing the waters, making sure Zay was on the same page.

Zay's breath hitched for a moment, but he didn't pull away. He leaned into it, his hand sliding up Trey's chest to the back of his neck, pulling him in deeper. Trey's hand found Zay's waist, pressing their bodies together as the kiss deepened. There was a quiet urgency in the way Zay kissed back, like he couldn't get enough of the feeling of Trey close.

When they finally broke apart, Zay was grinning, a little breathless. "Damn, you really missin' me, huh?"

Trey shook his head but couldn't hide the smile that tugged at his lips. "I ain't missin' you. I just needed a minute."

Zay's smirk never faltered, but there was something softer in his gaze now. "Whatever you say, Trey. Whatever you say."

Trey let out a small laugh, shaking his head. "You a trip." He pulled Zay closer again, this time kissing him gently on the forehead before resting his head on his. "You good here, love?"

Zay's smile softened at the word, the first time Trey had called him that today, but it felt natural. It didn't sound forced or too much.

"Yeah, I'm good. I'm just glad to be with you."

Trey nodded, rubbing his back a little before pulling away just enough to look at him. "Good, 'cause I'm not goin' anywhere."

Zay's grin turned teasing again, but there was a soft edge to it, something quieter. "Yeah, you better not."

Trey chuckled, his hand still resting at the small of Zay's back as they stood there, caught in this little moment that felt like home. Not a word needed to be said. It was just them, in their own space, finally finding that quiet comfort in each other's presence.

Zay leaned up and kissed him again, just a quick one this time, but it was enough to make Trey feel like he could breathe a little easier. He wasn't just in this for the fun of it anymore-he was in this for the long haul. And Trey wasn't going anywhere.

They didn't need anything else right then, just each other.
