The whole classroom went into chaos. This class was attended by Gryffindor and Slytherin students. When Harry speaks Parseltongue, all Slytherin students know what it means.
âThatâs a Parseltongue!â
âPotter is a Parselmouth!â
âIt must be him who opened the Chamber of Secrets!â
âNo wonder Draco was attacked! He is taking revenge on him!â
Even on the Gryffindor side, except for the students from Muggle families, everyone else looked at Harry with strange eyes.
Seamus shared the bedroom with Harry and muttered, âNo wonder you wanted to run out of the Hall that night. It turned out that you really opened the Chamber of Secrets!â
Harry stared blankly at the students who were accusing him. He still didnât understand why they suddenly accused him.
âWhat are you guys saying?â
Even when Ron looked at Harry, his eyes showed no fear or doubt, which made Harry a little more at ease.
âEveryone, silence.â Sherlockâs sound instantly silenced the chaotic classroom.
However, there are still Slytherin students who dared to raise their hands.
âProfessor, Potter is a Parselmouth! This proves that he is the one who opened the Chamber of Secrets!â
Sherlock had searched many snake-like magical creatures. He knew what Parselmouth meant.
Almost every Parselmouth is a dark wizard. Salazar Slytherin, one of the four founders of Hogwarts, is also a Parselmouth. It is also one of the reasons that the representative animal of the Slytherin house is a snake.
Parseltongue language can be passed down along with family blood. In Hogwarts, whoever shows Parseltongue is likely to be a descendant of Slytherin.
âSlytherin wasnât the only one in the world who spoke Parseltounge, Mr. Nelson.â Sherlock said lightly, âIf this is the only reason youâre going to accuse Potter, the judges of the Wizengamot would definitely take Potterâs side.â
âBut people with Parselmouth are the biggest suspects of Slytherinâs heir! At least Potter should be locked up just in case!â a Slytherin student said.
Sherlockâs tone had begun to turn cold, âIt will only be done if you have any evidence about it. If you have solid evidence, let alone Potter will be locked up, and I can bring him to the Ministry of Magic later. But based on the evidence of him speaking Parseltongue, it would only violate his right to freedom.â
âAlso, are you all the principal of Hogwarts?â He glanced coldly at the students who wanted to say more.
âAfter this class is over, I will tell Dumbledore the situation about what happened just now. How he will deal with this matter will be decided later, and what you have to do now is to just sit down.â
The respect that Sherlock accumulated among the students played a role at this time. No one dared to continue to say more, but they couldnât continue the class normally like they would.
After the class, Sherlock was about to carry the cage. When he left the class, Harry hesitated to find him.
âThank you for helping me out, Professor.â
Sherlock waved his hand, âIâm just doing my job.â
âProfessor, what is a Parselmouth?â Harry asked in confusion.
âYou can think of it as a natural talent that basically cannot be learned, but people with this talent are generally dark wizards,â Sherlock said calmly.
âBut I always think itâs a stereotype. Parselmouth is just an ability to talk to the snake, not dark magic, which can change the userâs mentality after using it. Many people Iâve read had Parselmouths, whether normal wizards or dark wizards. Probably because of family problems, and some people have a stereotype against it.â
Harry asked in confusion, âWhat does this have to do with them suspecting that I am the heir of Slytherin?â
âBecause of Salazar Slytherin is a Parselmouth. The inheritance generally learns modern wizards with Parselmouth of their ancestors. His heir opened the Chamber of Secrets, and you happened to be here at this time showing your Parselmouth. It is expected for them to react in such a way.â
Harry understands it now, but he still doesnât understand why heâs the one that everyone is talking about just because he is a Parselmouth.
Sherlock saw his sadness and patted him on the shoulder, âMany things have happened this semester. The students have been tense, and they are just using you as a vent. But the professors are adults, and no one will do anything to you just because you are a Parselmouth.â
He rarely showed sincere feelings in front of the students. He leaned down and said seriously, âI believe that the Chamber of Secrets has nothing to do with you, Harry. I also believe that you can prove it to others yourself.â
A smile appeared on Harryâs face, âThank you for your trust, Professor.â
âWith that being said, itâs time for me to go.â Sherlockâs face returned to that usual expression, âThere is still a first-grade class to teach; you guys are good enough at making the professors have headaches.â
He left the class with the cage in his hand. The Runespoort were staring at Harry all the time. When Sherlock took them away, the Runespoor made a sound.
âGoodbye⦠little wizardâ¦â
Harry suppressed his desire to reply to them and instead waved them goodbye.
After only three of them had left the class, Ron said, âI guess you will have a hard time at school in the future.â
Harry shrugged, âItâs not my fault. How did I know that just talking to the snake would cause such big trouble?â
Ron looked at him strangely up and down, âYou might have to go through your familyâs lineage. Maybe you do have something to do with Slytherin. After all, when weâre at the Sorting Ceremony, the Sorting Hat wants to put you into Slytherin, right?â
Harry glared at him, âYou suspect that I am the culprit who opened the Chamber of Secrets?â
âIâm not like them. There may be more than one heir of Slytherin. There is a bad one and a good one like you.â
The two of them chatted for a long time, only to realize that Hermione never said anything, and they couldnât help looking at her curiously.
âWhat are you thinking about?â
Hermione said thoughtfully, âProfessor Forrest said that he believed that the Chamber of Secrets had nothing to do with Harry; did he really mean it?â
âOf course.â Harry said with absolute certainty.
Hermioneâs eyes turned to Harry, sharp with suspicion, âGiven what he can do, The Chamber of Secrets that was opened must have something to do with you.â
âWhat are you talking about? Besides, havenât we also done tests before? For some impossible things, Professor Forrestâs jinx is useless.â
âI guess so.â
âNow, letâs move on from this topic. Iâm already unlucky enough today. Fortunately, he didnât wish me good luck before leaving, or I wouldnât be living today.â
