"I don't want you to think I was a creep or anything." She said and Cece 'excused herself to shower' aka eavesdrop from the bathroom with the water running. "But I noticed an ample supply of coffee in your kitchen last night and thought you might want one this morning."

"No... I was-" you can't tell her you dreamed about her, you weirdo. "I had a dream about coffee actually and I was craving some."

"I got it from Miles' it's my favourite spot."

"Mine too." I nodded taking a sip off the deliciously strong and perfectly sweetened warm beverage. "Ok miss observant, how'd you know I take 2 sugar?" I sat on the coffee table across from her as she sat on the couch.

"Just a... vibe." I raised an eyebrow. "And I saw your mug by your coffee station."

"How'd you know which one was mine?"

"Boy, you-"

"Don't give up." We both said and she smiled at me.

"If I had to choose who had oat milk, it's obviously you."

"Why obviously," I asked.

"Do you only talk in questions?" She asked.

"Sorry. I just-" I stopped and shook my head.

"What?"

"Nothing." I shook my head again and took a sip of the coffee. How'd she know I only had oat milk in my coffee in the night?

"No, tell me."

"No one ever thought that much into me." I laughed.

"Laughing to hide the pain, nice." She nodded. "Well... I'm gonna go. I just wanted to bring you a- you guys a coffee."

"Thanks..." I smiled.

"Welcome." I followed her over to the door. "I feel like Cece is eavesdropping and I don't know if you want her to know this or not but can I get your number?" She asked and I smiled then I remembered last night. Who left their number under my door?

"Sure." I smiled. I took my phone out of my robe pocket and passed it to her. After a few seconds, she passed it back to me. "Emma?" I said.

"If anyone finds out I'll kill you." She smiled and I smiled back.

"Deal... thanks again."

"Thank you." She smiled and she turned to leave. "Sorry about turning up unannounced."

"Your welcome to come any time if you promise to bring coffee again."

"Promise." She left and I smiled as she walked away. I closed the door and went into the hall to see Cece sticking her head out the bathroom door.

"Hi."

"Thought you were going to shower?"

"I'm going too... when's the date?"

"There's no date." I rolled my eyes. "She was just in the area and bought coffee."

"Huhum."

"Go shower." I rolled my eyes. I went into my room and looked around to find the phone number, I looked on the bed, around the bed, under the bed, on my nightstand, everywhere but I couldn't find it. I pulled my eyebrows together. I lay on my bed and let out a breath, I stared at E's number and thought about texting her but was I suppose to wait? Wait, why do I care I don't like her like that. So I don't need to text her... there's something about her.

'Hey, it's viv' I sent them regretted it.

E: 'Not gonna lie, didn't think you were going to text me.'

'Why not?' I asked.

E: 'I don't know, but I'm glad you did.'

E: 'also, enough with the questions, let's see how long we can carry a conversation without you using a question mark.' She double texted.

'Ok, fine' I sent then thought for a minute. 'What are we supposed to talk about'

E: 'knew you couldn't do it 😐'

'...'

'In my defence, there wasn't a question mark 😏'

E: 'smart ass, you peg me as the girl that rolls her eyes too much'

'Anyways, moving on. You apparently know a lot about me so tell me something about you'

E: 'there isn't much to tell, I'm from the EU ordinary. I moved here when I was little then we moved again and I just moved back a little while ago.'

We spent a few minutes talking and I didn't realize how invested I was until a pillow hit me. "What the fuck." I looked towards the door to see Cece raising an eyebrow.

"I asked you what you were doing."

"Sorry, TikTok." I lied and she nodded, it was believable enough.

"You hungry?"

"Always." I nodded.
