nineteen - bleach

"Ouch," I mumbled.

"You're ok." She said, letting the blue rubber fall to the countertop. I looked away from the needle now in my arm, and I took in another breath. "Ok, now." She put her finger on the needle in my arm, and I cringed. "Then." She spoke to herself as she pulled out the metal needle, leaving the 'catheter' in my arm. I looked at her, and she stared at the needle in my arm and put on the little cap so the blood wouldn't come out. She wiped the few pecks of blood that had come out before the cap was on, and she nodded at her own work. Again, she put her finger over the needle and pulled it out, replacing it with cotton. I was thankful it was over. I stared at the blood and felt queasy.

"Good job," I said, bending my arm.

"Thanks."" She smiled. "I need to get going." She said, looking at the clock on the stove.

"Ok, have a good day at work." She smiled and went to grab the stuff to throw out. "I got it, go." I smiled. She nodded and left. Before I could put the things in the garbage, E was standing at the doorway. "Jesus." I held my chest.

"Hi."

"Hi." She held out coffee, and I took it sitting to the island. She took her bottom lip between her teeth, and I stared at her cocking an eyebrow. "Oh, sorry." I grabbed the needle and gaze and threw it in the garbage. She went under my sink and grabbed the bottle of bleach, putting a splash of it onto the bloody stuff in the garbage car. Then, she put the bottle back. "E i-"

"You're, my soulmate- My breed gets stronger when they're with their soul mate. And I need you with me in Prague so I can be my strongest."

"Soulmates." I said.

"I know it's stupid, and once I'm done in Prague, if I'm still alive, I'll take you home, and you can find whoever you want to be with. But otherwise, I'll have it arranged for you to be taken home."

"I... Why do you need to be strong?"

"Our queen is... in trouble."

"Queen?" I asked.

"I told you that you were my person, but you're my soulmate, and I'm yours. Although not always do we end up together. So though past life's, you build connections with sometimes more than one person. You and Jade have two past lives together that I know of, so you not choosing me makes sense, I guess. But if you come with me to Prague, I will owe you my life."

"Wait... You have a queen? How many past lives have we had? Prague?"

"Yes. We have a queen, and I need to... Help our breed, and I need your strength to do it. Seven that I have found. Yes, Prague."

"I." I can't speak; I can't think. My brain hurts, and my wound is pulsing. Who does she need to fight? How many people? Is my presence enough?

"It'll be good enough since I can't have human blood." My mind got a quick thought and E shook her head. "No."

"Why not?" I asked.

"No." She repeated, not giving a reason.

"E, I need to know what's going to go down." She looked at me and took a sip of her coffee. I don't know what I was thinking - I wasn't. I had my shield up, so she was just as confused as me when I walked up to her and wrapped my arms around her neck, putting my arms around her neck. She didn't do anything for a second but then she kissed back and laid her hands on my hips. I never noticed the height difference before now, and I had to be on my tiptoes to kiss correctly. After a few seconds passed and wrapped her arms around my waist and lifted my feet off the floor. She sat me on the counter, and I let my hand fall to my lap as my hands grabbed the hem of her shirt, holding on for dear life.
