"How are you feeling?" She asked.
"How long do you have to keep waking me up like this?" I breathed, feeling even more exhausted than before.
"Well, I'm here for at least 24 hours."
"Jesus Christ," I mumbled.
"I'm not sure what I did for you to hate me, Viv, but whatever it was, I'm sorry, and I'm also sorry I care about you." She left the room, slamming the door, and I let out a breath. After a few minutes, I pushed myself up and went to the living room. She was sitting on the couch in the dark, staring at the TV that wasn't on.
"What are you thinking about?" I asked.
"Go to sleep." She mumbled; I sat beside her and glanced over at her. "Go to sleep." She repeated. I pulled the ottoman to the couch and threw my feet up. Luckily, my head fit perfectly in the sofa crease I had made, so the wound was able to 'breath'. Before I had the chance to think it, E turned on the TV, and after a second, she pressed criminal minds. I looked at her in the glow of the TV and sighed. "Go to sleep." She said for a third time. I was dropping but at this moment, coexisting in the dark with her face being lit by the TV was all I wanted; no doubt she's in my thoughts, but I don't care. I'm too tired to put up my 'front'. My mind started to drift. When Jade and I started dating, whenever a girl looked sideways at me, she'd get angry and jealous. Why was she so ok with me being with E tonight? Could E read her mind and know if she's actually sorry... do I care? I wanted to stay awake for a while and just enjoy E, but my eyes closed without my permission.
A cold dark room. I looked around and saw a movie playing. A girl with bright red hair was smiling, and another girl with dark black hair was laughing. The girl with red hair looked up as her smile faded. "What's wrong, Annie?" The raven-haired girl leaned forward, brushing a lock of red hair behind the girls- Annie's shoulder.
"I love you." She said quietly. The black-haired girl looked away for a second, trying to hide a smile, then she frowned. "Nessa... I'm sorry."
"I wanted to say it first." Annie let out a breath, and Nessa's lips went to hers. "I love you." She breathed into the girl's red locks as they hugged. Suddenly the screen was on fire, and I was in tears.
"I wish you could see them all." I heard E say behind me. I went to turn. "No. Don't look back here." I froze. "But I'm glad you can because I don't want you to miss me."
"I already miss you... was that us?" I asked.
"It's the earliest life I remember with you; you were the one with beautiful red hair..."
"I'm sorry for ghosting you." I went to turn, but she grabbed my shoulder.
"Don't turn around." She said.
"Goodbyes are hard enough."
"No, don't leave." I turned around, and she was on the ground covered in blood. "E!"
"I'm not changing my mind. I'm not strong enough without you."
"What? What do you mean? You've lived this long without me."
"Not to fight her."
"Who?" I asked, and the room with black.
"No!" I jumped awake, breathing heavily.
"Are you ok?" E asked.
"Ya... just nightmares." I sat up and looked around.
"Come here." She leaned over and reached behind my head. Is she going to kiss me? She touched my head gently, and I flinched. "Turn around." I did as she said, and she moved my hair over my left shoulder; I felt her breath on my neck as she looked at the wound. After a few seconds, I couldn't take the sensation anymore, so I pulled away.
"I'm hungry." I mumbled.
"What do you want?" She asked.
"Grilled cheese."
"Ok, I'll make it."
"No, I can do it."
"No, you're going to relax." She pushed herself up.
