She snored lightly beside me; my arm was numb under her. I looked at the TV then at the remote that was on the floor. She wanted to watch twilight; now she's asleep, and I'm stuck with Edward's shiny face doing nothing but remind me of E. I felt like pushing her away and telling her to get out, and I could call E, apologize for ghosting her, and ask her to come over. I sighed and glanced over at Jade; her bottom lip quivered for a second, and she started making a noise like she was having a bad dream. I just watched for a minute, letting whatever was in her dream torture her, then I shook her lightly.
"Jade- Jade." Her eyes shot open, and she was breathing heavily.
"Fuck." She mumbled, sitting up. I watched her for a second and reached out, rubbing her back lightly. She turned around to me and wrapped her arms around my neck.
"You ok?" I asked.
"Yea... just a weird dream."
"About?" I asked for some reason.
"Vampires." She mumbled. "I was in an old castle-type thing... and there was this girl there." She shook her head. This is just a coincidence. "And the Vampire started to drink my blood." She rubbed her writ lightly. "The pain was so real."
"Well, I was here the whole time, and you weren't getting gnawed on." She smiled up at me and laid her head on my chest as Edward put his lips to Bella's neck.
"Ya know... even with the nightmare, I haven't slept this good in a long time."
"That's good," I said. A knock on the door made me jump. My chest tightened for a second as I pushed myself up. I looked through the peephole and closed my eyes for a second.
"Hey-" Cece said as I pulled open the door.
"Hey."
"What's up? W-" she looked over my shoulder. "What the fuck." She said quietly. "I thought you were with E?"
"I haven't talked to her in a while. We just weren't... clicking." I mumbled.
"So you decided to click with her?" She snapped.
"Cece, please don't do this. I know what she did-"
"Are you sure? Because I remember very vividly having to clean up a puddle of your blood after you ha-"
"Cece." I snapped. By now, Jade was standing behind me.
"You're a sucker for punishment at this point."
"Cece-"
"Cece, I know you don't like me, and I know I put Viv through so much s-"
"Your damn right. I don't like you. I hate you, as a matter of fact." She said.
"Cece, please." I sighed. "Can we talk later?"
"I'm on my way to school, and I just wanted to check in on you. I shouldn't have." She left, and I rubbed my head. Fuck. Jade looked like she was about to cry. I took her hand in mine and let out a slow breath.
"Vi-"
"Stop," I mumbled.
"Vivan, I am so fucking sorry for cheating... I know no one trusts me anymore, but please, please let me prove to you that I'm better." She took my hands in her squeezed them, I looked up at her, and I felt pure hate. But I looked into her eyes and felt sadness; I still loved her. Of course, I did. She was the first person I ever loved, and we were together for six years. I was 13 when we got together, and she had just turned 15. She brought me back to real life; when I felt her lips on mine, I caught myself kissing back. I pulled away after a minute and looked down at her.
"You should go," I mumbled.
"I'm sorry... I..."
"No, it's ok. I just want to be alone." She looked like she would cry, so I kissed her lips lightly, and she forced a smile. "I'll talk to you later." She nodded and grabbed her purse, and shoved on her shoes. She glanced back at me as she left, and I smiled at her. Once the door was closed, I grabbed the closest thing to me, a mug, and I threw it across the room.
