I jumped awake. I was in my own bed, and I looked around... It was all a dream... of course, it was, E isn't a vampire. "Good morning." I jumped again; E was standing in the bedroom doorway.

"I... good morning." A knock on the door distracted me from my thoughts. I was wearing E's button-up, and she was just in a wife beater. I pulled open the door, and Cece was smiling.

"Good day to you. Was I interrupting?" She said, wiggling her eyebrows.

"No, I just woke up..."

"Is she here-"

"Hey," E said, walking up behind her with a bag of takeaway food and a tray with two coffee. "I went to get us breakfast."

"H- hi," I mumbled.

"Just dropping by on my way to work. So- I'll let you guys get back to... whatever is going on."

"Cece. Nothing happened." I whispered. At least, I don't think.

"Alright, bye, you two." She smiled and left; E came into the room, and I sighed. Wasn't she in the room when I went to the door? Am I going crazy?

"No, your not. I just woke up around eight, and Cece was going to drop by, so I figured I'd bring you home. I didn't want to wake you."

"I... why couldn't we say we stayed at your place?" I asked. "You made me think I was crazy."

"Cece's friends Jess and Cora live in my building, so they'd know I didn't bring you there, and she was worried about you."

"Why?" I asked.

"Joy has been talking shit about me because I won't hook up with her."

"So... it wasn't a dream," I said quietly, sitting at the island counter. She passed me a coffee and a bagel.

"It wasn't."

"Emma... I..." I took in a breath as I watched her drink from the coffee that was still too hot. "Tell me... everything."

"I'm not going to tell you everything, and I'm not going to overload your brain with it all."

"But... ok, are there more... vampires than you?"

"Of course, there is. My species is the smaller one. Only a few hundred. But there are... a few hundred other breeds, and some of them have millions of vampires."

"Can vampires have babies?" I asked.

"Yes- most can. Every type is different."

"You?" I asked quietly.

"We can. But it isn't the usual way."

"What do you mean?" I asked, taking of bite of the bagel before releasing how hungry I was.

"It's... kinda weird. You don't need sperm for us to have kids."

"Two girls can have kids?" I asked, and she nodded. "So, can humans know about you guys?" I hated the word vampire. It still didn't feel real.

"If they're no risk to being exposed and the person is a past soulmate, yes. But it's scarce."

"I still can't believe this... I know I always thought it was real, but I didn't expect to ever..."

"I know I'm sorry for telling you. It's just when the memories came back. I missed you so much; you'll never understand the feeling I had..."

"Why haven't you tired kissing me yet?" I asked.

"I don't want to overwhelm you."

"I think you kissing me would be the simplest thing to do." Can't she just kiss me already?

"You can just ask me too." Shit. She leaned in and out her lips on mine; I couldn't breathe. I kissed back, and I felt a sharp pain in my chest, like a knife entering my lungs. When she pulled away, I gasped and put my hand on my chest.

"Are you ok?" She asked.

"I... yea, I'm fine." I closed my eyes tightly, and after a second, the pain left.
