I stared at my phone longer than I should have.

"Let’s meet after school?"

Her message sat there, waiting for a response, waiting for me to make a decision.

Part of me wanted to ignore it. Not because I didn’t want to see her—I did, more than anything—but because I was scared.

Scared of how much she was starting to mean to me.

Scared that if I let this feeling grow, it would eventually shatter me.

But the thought of pushing her away felt worse.

So, I typed a quick reply and sent it before I could overthink.

"Morning. No promises on the overthinking part. But yeah, let’s meet."

The second the message was delivered, I let out a breath I didn’t realize I was holding.

I knew today wouldn’t be just another day.

Because after everything, I couldn’t keep running anymore.

I had to face this—face her.

And maybe, just maybe, let myself believe that she wasn’t going anywhere.
