When Herman heard Anastasiaâs voice over the phone, he couldnât help but miss her, even though he had just stepped out of the companyâs main entrance.
Getting to Willowbrook would be a two-hour journey, and it was just past eleven at night. There was still plenty of time. After hanging up, Herman issued orders to Nelson, who was next to him, âBook a flight to Willowbrook now. No, make that a private jet. It would be faster. Get on it, Nelson.â
Laughing, Nelson replied, âMr. Salstrom, your wife has only been gone half a day.â.
âOnly half a day?â Herman retorted. It felt like an eternity had passed. Used to sharing his bed with his wife every night, Hermanâs heart was already in Willowbrook at the mere thought of sleeping alone tonight.
âIâll get right on it.â Nelson assured, âShould I cancel your work schedule for tomorrow? Oh, and Christia from Willowbrook invited you over yesterday. Should we arrange a meeting?â
âWhich Christia?â Herman asked. There were too many people in the industry for Herman to remember everyone.
Nelson clarified, âChristia, the chairman of PowerSource Electronics, also known as the Iron Lady.
Sheâs invited you over three times now.â
Herman remembered. Christia was a major figure in the business world: Her journey from: saleswoman to her current position was legendary, and there wasnât a person in the industry who didnât respect her.
âIâll give her a call later.â Herman decided, âYou take care of the rest.â
âUnderstood, Mr. Salstrom.â Nelson said.
In Willowbrook, Anastasia was getting ready for bed but couldnât help worrying about Flynn next door.
Now living in the room Tavon had prepared for her, the two had switched rooms.
Changing into her pajamas, Anastasia knocked on Flynnâs door. Flynn was about to go to bed when Anastasia appeared. âMs. Anastasia.â Flynn asked, looking puzzled, âWhatâs up so late?â
âLetâs talk inside.â Anastasia entered the room first.
âMs. Anastasia.â Flynn rushed to say, âItâs inappropriate for a man and a woman to be alone this late at night. My brother would kill me.â
âIs there something wrong with your brain?â Anastasia rolled her eyes, asking, âDonât you feel that somethingâs off? I have a bad feeling Ashley and the others will make a move tonight.â
âThereâs nothing wrong.â Flynn reassured her, âIâve locked the door, and there are no surveillance devices. Maybe youâre just being overly paranoid. I know Tae Kwon Do, so I can handle myself.â
âAlright then, Iâm going back to my room. Call me if you need anything.â Anastasia instructed before returning to her room.
Flynn went back to bed, not taking Anastasiaâs words too seriously.
In the middle of the night. As Flynn was sleeping, two figures entered his room, using a spare room key. It was too dark to make out Flynnâs face, but they could tell someone was in bed. After a quick glance at each other, one man put his hand over Flynnâs mouth while the other held down Flynnâs feet.
Flynn woke up in a panic but quickly pushed away the man covering his mouth and threw him onto the bed.
The other man was taken aback by Flynnâs resistance. Seizing the moment, Flynn kicked the man away. âSo Anastasia was right. Come on, letâs have some fun.â Flynn said, thrilled. It had been a while since he had a good fight.
The two men were confused. They were told to look for a woman, so why was there a man here? Had they entered the wrong room?
Seeing the situation go south, they tried to make a run for it. But they were no match for Flynn. In no time, Flynn had them both restrained. Unable to find anything else, he used bed sheets to tie them up, leaving only their heads exposed.
After dealing with them, Flynn turned on the lights and called Anastasia, âAnastasia, Iâve caught two bad guys. Come take a look.â
