Chapter 21 of 21

loneliness

Thoughts And Words221 words~2 min read

Loneliness crawls, slow and deep,

A quiet ache I cannot keep.

The world moves on, yet I remain,

Lost in silence, bound by pain.

The hours stretch, but slowly they go,

As I wait for words you’ll never show.

Your silence lingers, far and wide,

Like distant stars I cannot find.

Time feels endless, like a silent cry,

A void that echoes, yet no reply.

I reach for warmth, but feel the cold,

A touch that's absent, growing old.

Your messages, like fleeting light,

Fade in the shadows, out of sight.

Loneliness lingers, an unwelcome guest,

A more constant companion, never at rest.

It wraps its arms around my chest tight,

A heavy weight in the dead of night.

I search for solace, seek some peace,

But my aching never seems to cease.

Each breath I take feels so alone,

A quiet cry,in a hushed tone.

The world moves on, but here I stay,

Drowning in the silence of the replay.

Loneliness is hard to bear,

When love is near, but just not there.

But still, I wait, though hope feels thin,

For something to break this ache within.

It gnaws, it pulls, it cuts so deep,

An endless longing I cannot keep.

But I cling to fragments, faint and small,

Hoping one day I needn't be the first to call.
