On Thursday's morning, my ringing phone woke me up from the amazing and my personal favorite activity called sleep.
"Hello..." I answered with a dead voice (literally), coughing a bit and almost falling asleep again as I heard the other side's voice.
"Rhi, where the hell are you? You've been missing since Tuesday!" I grunted.
Just what I needed- my uncle's rambling.
Flopping my head back on the pillow, I put the phone on speaker so I can let my hand rest in front of my face.
"I'm ill. Unwell. Sick as a dog. Infected. Dise-" "Okay okay, I get it! No need to say anything else."
Sometimes I wonder if my uncle really is considered as an adult. Legally, that is. He must have blackmailed someone.
Uncle Bart sighed, "Anyway, I hope you'll get well soon. I smell troubles coming, and I don't like it." Letting out a mock chuckle, I lifted a brow. "You sure it's not you you're smelling?" I can already imagine him going red with anger and embracement. "Good bye, Mean Girl." He said through clenched teeth, ending the call.
A sigh escaped my mouth as my stomach started hurting again.
I hate being sick.
A ping sounded from the phone in my hand. It was a reminder for the text I still haven't read since two days ago.
I tsked, opening the message. Once again, it was from an unknown number. There were the same dots. "..."
I wonder if Caleb gets them too. Or maybe it was just some messing-with-the-'new girl' kind of prank. Either way, it didn't matter.
I got back to sleep with the phone still in my hand.

On Friday, the next day, I was as wealthy as a bull- if that even made any sense. The aftermath of an illness I get always ends up with me being even weirder than usual. And yes, that was possible. Every feature in my personality gets more extreme, actually. I'm going to be sassier, friendlier, and more stupid than always.
Happy happy day.
In my old schools, I didn't bother to show up until the outcomes of my sickness disappeared, just because I knew that around people who I didn't like, my bad features came out. So I thought I'll save the energy for another day.
But this time, I was kind of... happy to return. I had fun on my two days of being there. I might get to punch someone today.
Looking in my closet for clothes, I picked a grey top, a white hoodie and a black jacket. I wore a dark blue skinny jeans and chose some red flats.
I couldn't think straight. I don't think I will throughout the day, either.
"Don't forget your sunglasses!" Belle called as I ran down the stairs. I stopped quietly, not giving out I really did forget it, and walked back to my room.
As I did my way down, I heard Belle voice once more;
"Don't forget your bag!"
I didn't bother to stifle the groan this time.
I woke up late that day, thinking I might really pass on this day as well. So I was late. By fifteen minutes. I wasn't even out of the house yet.
Running past the kitchen with no food in my poor stomach, I yelled a 'goodbye' to Belle and continued running until I reached the bus.
Until I finally reached my homeroom class, I was thirty-five minutes late. I was huffing and puffing, trying to dry the sweat on my forehead with the back of my jacket's sleeve. Thankfully, today was a cold day, so I wasn't all sweaty and hot.
"Fear no longer, Rhi has finally returned!" I called as I opened the door waving the hand that wasn't on the knob wildly.
Yep. I was really extra stupid today. Mr. Nelson and the students probably thought the same things from the looks they gave me. Or maybe they didn't give me any strange looks, but I couldn't tell since my brain didn't work to well.
"When weren't you here?" A boy with red locks all around his face asked. I slouched, my smile dropping. Giving him a looked, I faked a sniff and put a hand on my heart. "Oh wow, and I thought we had something." Shaking my head, I gave him a dramatic glare.
"Are you saying you guys forgot everything I did for you?" Ignoring the stares, I gave Mr. Nelson a pointy look. "What about you, Mr. Nelson? Don't tell me you didn't notice my absent for two days."
He let out a chuckle and straightened up from leaning on his desk.
"Go and sit down, Ms. Martins, and I won't ask why you were almost forty minutes late to class since you are clearly not in your best mind today." Some of the boys started to laugh. I wasn't sure if it was because they came back from their frozen state and laughed at what I said, or because of Mr. Nelson's words.
I huffed, not believing to his words. "I am deeply wounded, Mr. Nelson. How could you say that?" Nonetheless, I walked towards the only empty sit in the corner.
"Don't worry, Sweet cheeks, I noticed you were gone." I looked at the boy as I sat down. I think it was the one who said that comment about having more 'me' for everyone.
Giving him a weird look, I put my hands on my cheeks protectively.
"Don't you go and say non-proved things on my cheeks, you creepy cannibal," He cracked a smile, his hazel eyes twinkling with amusement. "Shit, you're really cute," The boy's cheeks reddened a bit from his words. I think mine did, too.
"Oy, no flirting!" The red-head said. "You don't get to speak," I fired back. "Not after you didn't noticed I was gone." I pointed a finger at him, as if I was scolding at him, but a smile slipped on my face. I grunted, mumbling "Whatever," and turning back to Mr. Nelson, who watched us bickering without a word.
After that, he stated talking. I wasn't quite there, he lost me in his second sentence. It was only then I realized who was sitting on my other side. I sat near the window, so I should've noticed the one who'll sit on my right side.
"Ohh, Mr. Cute boy!" I whispered-yelled to him. He had his elbow on the table in front of him, and laid his cheek on a fisted hand.
He only turned his head a little, moving mostly those gray eyes to look at me. "Hey-oh! Did you miss me? I bet you did," Reagan rolled his eyes, moving away from me. If only he knew it wouldn't make me shut up. "Aww, don't be shy- it's OK if you did," He turned his gaze back to me, dropping his hand and giving me a strange look. "Are you high?" Reagan's words made some giggles to come out of my mouth, sanding me to a fit of laughter.
Laying my cheek on the table, I stared at him back. "Yes, on my love for you." His reaction sent me to another fit. I straightened up, waving my hand as I continued to laugh. "I'm just kidding, I'm just kidding!" Shaking my head at him, I let out the last giggle.
"Jeez, don't look so scared." Reagan's glare hardened. "I'm not."
"You so do, Reagan. You got really freaked out, but don't worry- my current state will be gone by Monday." He raised a brow at me, but didn't say anything afterwards.
On the last minutes of class, I pretended I didn't notice his stares.

I got another text on the second class, but this time it was blank.
I told myself I'll remember to ask Caleb about, but by the time lunch time came I forgot.
"So..." I looked up from my fries at my cute, shy friend. He had a red beanie today, matching his hoodie. "is you being 'Too-Rhi' a side effect of your illness?" I lifted an eyebrow, chuckling. He looked a bit embarrassed, but still explained himself. "Y-yeah, you know... more friendly, sassy and stuff than usual." When I didn't answer straight away, Caleb seemed to have panicked. "N-not that it's a bad thing, I-I mean I just... I just meant that-" "Caleb," I gave him a smile. "Its fine, I get it. And to answer your question, yes. It always happens to me." He nodded, a smile of his own on his face.
When lunch was almost over, nothing bad happened- for change.
At least, not until some yelling began at the other side of the room.
I hummed, a bit curious because of the commotion. "What's going on?" I asked Caleb. "It's the Friday fight. Happens every week on this day, at the cafeteria." I raised a brow.
And no one stopped yet? It must have happened a few times for it to be a tradition. I voiced my thought to Caleb.
"There's a silent agreement between everyone that none of us will tell- since everyone has lunch at the same time. There are no cameras or teachers at the cafeteria during lunch breaks, and usually the lunch-ladies are gone by now." I nodded.
"So no supervision. Why on Friday, though? And how come there are no cameras or teachers?" I looked at the crowded circle. Should we try and take a look, as well? There was hardly anyone at the tables, eating. Some more students from the outdoors came in as well.
"The Principal believes there's nothing too vicious that can be done during lunch breaks. For you second question, no one really knows why. Some actually thinks it's because of those text messages." At his last sentence, my gaze falls on him.
"What?" Caleb returns me a look, and then blushed when our eyes locked. He cleared his throat. "Those dots, you know? They say it's a countdown for this day." Now that I think about it, it did counted down. "Okay, then what if I go to the Pri-" "No, don't!" He quickly calls out, but cleared his throat again when he realized he yelled. "S-sorry, but you can't. If you will, then- girl or not girl, you can be the next one to fight." I sighed. Before I could ask anything else, the yelling became even stronger. I looked at the crow before returning my gaze to Caleb. He seemed to have the same thought as I did. Without another word, we stood up and went towards the fight.
"That's Oliver Simpson," Caleb whispered to me, pointing at a tall and quite build, red head. I couldn't tell his eye color from here. He didn't have an expression on his face. Literally. He just escaped the punches and kicks the other guy sent his way, only occasionally punching him in his face.
In the front, my eyes caught the sight of Reagan and some other boys. One of them had sunglasses on. I think he was in my P.E class.
"He's also friends with Reagan Ross and those guys," I nodded, already figured that out. "What do you think they're fighting about?" I asked Caleb. He shrugged, "I don't know. Not a lot try to mess with those guys, and I can't think of a reason since Oliver Simpson is like a living robot- no emotions." Nodding once more, I tried to back off a little so someone won't punch me in the face, or something. But of course, it seems like I keep jinxing everything.
"Oh my- dude!" I yelled, putting a hand on my lips and trying to understand whose elbow hit me.
"Your goddamn elbow just hit my goddamn mouth!" Was I yelling? Yes. Was I being dramatic? Of course I was. Not a good day to get elbowed.
"The hell it did!" I could taste the metallic taste of blood in my mouth. "Wow, Rhi, th-there's a quite deep cut in your lip," Caleb said, panicked and concerned. "Well, of course there is! This d*ckhead elbowed the living rats out of my lip!" I didn't even notice the yelling around quieted down a bit. "I didn't f*cking hit you, you whining b*tch!" I lifted a brow. "What? Are you trying to pick a fight, you bloody tool?!" Spitting on the ground some blood (I'm sorry, whoever has to clean it), I put my hand back on my wounded mouth. "Listen, you-" "Are you f*cking dumb? Piss off!" I had quite the talent of making people angry. Aunt always gave me quite the talk about, actually.
"Hey, I think you forgot something," someone yelled from the crowd as the boy's friends started to pull him away. I think it was one of Reagan's friends, but I wasn't sure.
"What?" He asked, almost spitting the words. A scared look appeared on his face when he realized who he was talking to.
"K-Klay Carson?" The guy asked, as 'Klay' crossed the circle and came in front of us. All of the people's attention was on us, by now.
Klay had a blue-green colored hair, and he stared at the boy with a pair of an amazing bright blue eyes.
Oliver was behind him, looking at his friend. "You forgot to say sorry for hitting her. Even if it wasn't on purpose, you still hit her." I crossed my hands, not that the bleeding stopped. I looked at both of them curiously. "I-I'm sorry," I nodded at the guy and watched him walking away.
Just then, the bell rang, and everybody started to exit the cafeteria. I was about to say thank you to the blue haired boy, but he already disappeared with some of his friends, leaving Reagan and Oliver behind. Reagan gave me a look. He must have thought I wouldn't catch him, but I did. He looked away quickly, turning around as well. Oliver didn't try to hide the fact he was staring at me with those ice-like eyes.
Was there more to Oliver Simpson than the cold boy?
