It felt like hiding a nasty secret from the other boys. At least, that's what I thought as Reagan and I entered Thomas' house after our... confessions.
I had no idea what was supposed to happen now. Were we dating? Was he my boyfriend?
I was afraid to say anything at loud, not very sure what to do. Besides, Reagan wasn't the talkative type of guy. Did he even want me to say anything?
However, as we got inside the house Reagan held my hand- and one look from Klay was all it took.
At first, he stood and stared, blocking our way in. But then, "I see you finally stopped being a chicken," was what he said as he took a bite from the sandwich in his hand.
Which was on the floor a second later, and that didn't happen because it came to life or because Klay dropped it.
No, of course it was because of the guy besides me, who also had to push Klay to let us pass. "Piss off," Reagan said, making me give him a look. Seeing that both of us have a bit of an... anger thingy, it kind of seems like this relationship is doomed.
Just a bit.
"Hey, why's Klay mourning a sandwich on the floor?" Thomas asked as he came into the leaving room, looking at us as we sat on the sofa. I grinned, shaking my head. Klay was being a drama queen as always.
Thomas chuckled and didn't ask again, taking the remote in his hand.
"Are we watching a movie?" Oliver asked as he came in, Elliot behind him. I looked at Elliot, "We can do something else," I said, crossing my legs on the sofa. "we always watch one when we're here anyways," Elliot glance toward the source of my voice, and then came towards me.
I moved a bit closer to Reagan to let him sit besides me, and Oliver gave us a once over.
Just then, Klay came into view as well, giving Reagan a glare. "Thanks a lot, d*ckhead, not I'll starve to death." I rolled my eyes, but then clapped my hand and smiled.
"I know! We can bake something," I offered, and the boys gave me a funny look. I raised a brow, standing up.
"Come on, I can teach you how to make cupcakes, or something," I tried to convince them.
Eventually, we found ourselves in the kitchen, after looking for all the right ingredients- Though Thomas had to go and buy some piping bags and a few other things.
"By the way, where's Caleb?" I asked as the front door opened, and in came Grey.
"He said he can't come today, but he'll text you later." Klay said as he tried to open the sprinkles' bottle. I took it from his possession quickly, nodding as I did.
"What are you doing?" Grey asked as he looked inside the kitchen, taking in the sight of our aprons and the mess of ingredients on the counter.
"Baking," I told him, showing him the paper of the recipe in my hand. He raised a brow, opening his mouth to reply, but then thought against it as he shook his head. Then, he turned around and exited the room.
I looked at the boys. "Think he's going to call the fire department or something?" Thomas gave Klay a wary glance. "Probably."
I shrugged, rolling the sleeves of my white shirt.
"Let's start shall we?" Oliver and Reagan sat on the table, looking at me, as Thomas and Klay stood next to me near the counter. Elliot sat next to us, playing with a spoon.
"So, the first thing you should know about making food is this; life is quite like food- there's no room for big mistakes. 'Cause then it will be just gross, and awful. And we don't want that, do we?" I gave Klay a pointed look, and in return he gave me an innocent one. I rolled my eyes again.
"Right. And let's try not to have any injuries, too." I stopped, thinking for a moment. "Though that might be asking too much, so let's just think of it as a bonus."

The baking went better then I thought, and we managed to have ten cupcakes that actually had topping on, as the rest didn't survive against the guys' stomach. Mostly Klay and Oliver.
The kitchen... well, we didn't set it on fire, but let's just say it will probably never look the same again.
Grey was so pissed at the mess he made us clean it three times- including the fridge and the cupboards, which looked like they weren't cleaned for a century- at least.
"Next time, do us all a favor and just watch a movie instead," Grey said, throwing a pillow at Klay as he dropped crumbs from the cupcake on the floor. "and use a goddamn plate, will you?" he asked him, then turned to the stairs and climbed up to his room. I looked to the direction he disappeared to. "What's with Grumpy Cat?" I asked, whispering in fear Grey might hear me.
Thomas looked at me and shrugged, handing Klay a plate. "He's like that when he get stress from work, though lately it's been worse. Better let him cool off, he'll be fine." Thomas looked at Elliot. "Elliot, let's go change your bandage." Elliot nodded, standing up from the chair and walking out of the kitchen with him.
Oliver looked at Klay and then pushed him lightly with his foot. "Let's go get a pizza or something," He told his friend.
Klay glance at him, then at me and Reagan. "No way, I'm not leaving those two alone together. What if they start fighting on their first day? Who will be here to bring back the peace?" I raised a brow as Oliver rolled his eyes, picking him up and making him stand up. "Definitely not you," he said as they exited the kitchen. A second later the front door closed with a soft click.
I looked at the cupcake left on the counter, "We should bake something else next time, though maybe it will be for the best if I do the most of it." I offered, and then I felt Reagan's arms around my waist as he looked at the cupcakes himself.
"Yeah, that might actually be best." He agreed.
We stood like that for a while, until Klay came running into the house, yelling some nonsense about how he caught us fighting on our 'first day together', or something.
He got punched right after that.

On Monday the next week, I saw that new girl who to flirt with Reagan. I couldn't remember her name, though I think it had an A in it. Then again, almost all of the names in the world had an A in them.
She gave me a small wave and an annoying smile, then looked at Reagan who leaned on the wall next to the building entrance. And she started to make her way toward him. Naturally, I had to go as well to show her she was messing with a take man. Who was mine.
Yes, that's right, Cute boy is mine!
Just as she opened her mouth to talk to him, I called out, "Hey, Reagan!" He looked up, ignoring the red head besides him. She gave me a look, then smiled at Reagan.
"Hey, so I was wondering if we can-" "Hey," Reagan greeted me back, coming to me as I took my last steps towards him. He smiled as he hugged me, and I gave the red head a smirk.
Then, I completely ignored her as Reagan leaned to kiss me. It was short, but it felt somewhat longer than it really was.
I heard the steps of the red head on the grass as she walked away, making me sigh in relief. "God, that girl just doesn't know when to stop," I mumbled, more to myself than to Reagan.
He frowned, and then looked around. "Who?" I almost burst out in laughter.
Of-f*cking-course. Typical Reagan, who doesn't care about the strangers around him. I chuckled, "Never mind," I said, putting my sunglasses on as the bell rang. "Let's go to class," He nodded and took my hand in his as we walked to our class.

"What are you doing?" I asked Caleb as we stood in front of Thomas' house, and I was waiting for him to ring the door bell. He turned around immediately, as if he forgot I was standing behind him. I shrugged and moved around him, ringing myself. A moment later, Grey opened the door. "Hey, dark prince," I greeted, and he rolled his eyes and went back inside, living the door open for us.
"Come on, Cal- Caleb?" I looked around, trying to understand where Caleb disappeared to.
"Caleb? Caleb! Caleb, where the he-mhm!" Caleb palm prevented me from speaking as we both sat behind the bushes near the house. He put his finger to his lips, signal to be quiet. I nodded, and he took his hand off my mouth.
"Why are we hiding like we're about to rob a bank?" I whispered, looking at Caleb as he looked around nervously.
"Rhi, I have something to tell you." I raised a brow. "Don't tell me we really are going to rob a bank. You should probably know that my aunt won't approve, since, you know- it's illegal and stuff, though if you want we can-" "I'm gay." Caleb cut me off, and I stopped for a second to look at him.
"-as I was saying, we can go and do like, role-playing or something to give you this thrill you're after, and also-" "Rhi!" Caleb cut me of again, putting his hands on my shoulders. "What?" I asked him, giving him a puzzled look.
"Didn't you hear what I said?" he asked, looking scared for a moment. "Yeah, I did." I assured him.
"And? That's it? Rhi, I'm gay," I tilted my head to the side. "So what? Congratulations, I guess, now about the role playing-" Caleb pulled me into a hug, puzzling me even more. I've never had anyone confessing to me about something like that, so I had no clue how to react. Did he think I'll hate he for that?
After a few moments he pulled away, but he still looked nervous. I frowned. "Is there something else bothering you?" I asked Caleb, and he glanced at the house again.
"Well, you see... I think..." He swallowed, not meeting my gaze.
"I think I like Grey."

"Okay, when I tell you, run up the stairs into Thomas' room without looking back, okay?" Caleb nodded, waiting behind me as I entered the house carefully.
I looked around, searching for Grey, but when I didn't see him around I called Caleb's name. I waved my hand to rush him in the direction of Thomas' room, then ran up the stairs after him myself.
I saw Caleb entering the room, looked around once more before I opened the door myself, but then jumped when I noticed Grey. "H-hey, Grey," I stuttered, standing protectively in front of the door. I promised Caleb that until he'll ready to confess- if he'll actually want to, that is-, I'll keep Grey away. I cleared my throat, raising my voice to let Caleb know Grey was here. "Grey, what are you doing here?" He raised a brow, coming closer and trying to get passed me and into his brother's room. When he saw I was blocking him from entering, he asked;
"What the hell is wrong with you?" Grey asked as he tried to walk pass me again.
"Nothing, why would you think that?" I asked, giving him a somewhat nervous smile. He stared at me blankly and then tried to walk around me once more , only for me to put my hands on his chest to stop him. "Woah, Grey! Hang on, I have something to tell you!" He shook his head. "Rhi, move." "No w-wait, I have to tell you how in love I am with you!" Grey rolled his eyes and put his hand on my, moving me to the side. "Sorry, you're not my type." I blinked, but then realized he was almost passed me. And there was no way I was letting him to get to Caleb.
"Grey, no! You can't go in there!" He stopped, staring at me. "What now?"
I frowned, looking away and trying to think of a story. "Well, you see... Thomas and Reagan are... exploring," Grey looked at me like was from another planet. I felt like was.
"Exploring?" I nodded, unsure. "Yes, they are exploring... boys things online, which is also why I'm out here." I told him, the story coming together in my head.
"And you're out here to... hear them 'exploring' boys' things?" All of the color must've been drained from my face. "NO! N-no, of course not!" Grey tilted his head to the side and crossed his hands. "You sound a bit unsure." I put a hand on my eyes. Then, when I lowered it to try and explain to Grey, he was already passed me, walking to the door and opening it. "NO!" I yelled and jumped on his back, making him stumble in and almost fall.
"What are you doing, Rhi?" Asked Thomas from his bed. Reagan was sitting besides him, and they were both looking at Thomas' laptop. I looked around the room, looking for a sign of Caleb. But he wasn't there any longer. Was he hiding?
"N-nothing," I let out as I jumped from Grey's back to the floor. "I was trying to stop Grey from coming in," I cleared my throat. Thomas frowned, "Why?" He asked.
"Because..." Grey looked at me, and then at his brother and friend. "She said, and I quote, that you were 'exploring boys' things online', and that was right after she confessed her love for me." He shook his head, turned around and got out of the room, closing the door behind him without saying why he came in the first place. Probably to cause me a panic attack.
"Exploring boys' things online?" Asked Thomas with a raised brow and a smirk. Reagan looked a bit annoyed.
"You confessed your love for Grey?" I quickly shook my head, "I panicked, okay? Now where's Caleb?" They looked at each other and then pointed at the closet at the corner of the room. "Caleb, you can come out of the closet now!" I whispered-yelled to him. He hesitated before he opened the door completely and came out. "Thanks," He gave me a somewhat uneasy smile. I nodded, "you're welcome."
Thomas and Reagan looked at us. "What's going on?" Thomas asked me. When he realized I wasn't about open my mouth, turned his gaze over to Caleb.
Caleb walked over to me and sent me a conflicted look. "It's nothing to worry about," I eventually told them, and then added, "we're not in trouble or anything." They gave us a suspicious look, but otherwise left the subject.
Reagan stood from Thomas' bed and walked over to me. "Don't confess your love to people just because," He said, clearly bothered by it. I waved my hand, dismissing his words, "I'm sorry, okay? It just came out!" Reagan rolled his eyes, but he had a small smile on his lips as he walked past me and out of the room.
I looked at Caleb, "Are you okay?" he nodded, sitting down on the computer's chair. "That was close," He said, making Thomas look even more suspicious. "I get the feeling that whatever it is, it's got to do with my brother. So if you want, you can talk to me about it without worrying about Grey hearing about it." Thomas assured him.
Caleb looked at me, and I nodded. He could trust our friends, that I knew.
And that was how Operation Caleb came to life.

Here we go, a chapter going up only a week and a few days after the last one. I think I deserve a clap.
On a more serious note- I just heard about The Fiction Awards 2018, and it was because a reader called Whygoon nominated me, which is pretty f*cking awesome. It will be cool if you-whoever you are that actually read this (bless your soul), could vote or nominate or whatever it is you're supposed to do.
Or you can just read my story, that's cool too.
Hope you enjoyed the chapter :)
