I wasn't really awake, but I could still very aware of my surroundings. I could almost feel the eyes on me, and it smelt like a boy's room. I was laying on a bed, as well.
"... I still can't f*cking believe they would do such a thing," I heard an angry whisper, which took me a few seconds to identify as Klay.
"don't you agree?" he asked someone else, and I realized it was Grey. "This is what happens when you bring a girl into an all boy delinquents' school," he answered, from the sound of it sitting down.
"Are you saying it's her fault?" there was a pause, and then it was Thomas who was talking. "Grey, why don't go make sure Reagan doesn't go out? We don't need him looking for a fight, again."
After that, the sound of the door opening and closing was heard.
I heard one of the boys sigh.
I moved a bit, making my groan in pain and finally open my eyes. "Rhi? Are you okay?" I saw Caleb moving towards me quickly. I waved my hand dismissively, "Yeah, other then the face my head hurts like a bi*ch." My words seemed to have calmed them a bit.
"What happened?" I asked in a drowsy voice. Thomas and Caleb exchanged looks, and it was Klay that answered me without much of a thought. "You don't remember being beaten up?" Thomas grabbed his shoulder and looked at him. "Go make sure Grey and Reagan don't end up fighting each other, will you?" Thomas practically ordered.
I stared at Thomas, confused. "Why would they fight?" I asked him as Klay unwillingly did as he asked. Thomas shook his head, "Do you need to tell someone you're here?" He questioned.
I suddenly remembered my aunt went overseas for the rest of the week, and quickly shook my head, mentally sighing.
What a great timing, she had.
Maybe I could even manage to buy some new stockings to hide the fact that the pair on my legs got ripped.
I looked around, and then returned my gaze to the intelligent boy. "I kinda need to pee," I mentioned.
Caleb coughed, surprised over the quick change of subject.
Thomas only smiled in return, directing me to the bathroom that was in front of his room.
I nodded, carefully getting up. "Careful," said Caleb in worry. I gave him a sly grin and a thumb up as I exited the room.
In the bathroom, I finally got the time to inspect my injures.
I had a bandage on my temple, my left shoulder and wrist.
Looking down, I saw my knees were wrapped as well. Besides that, the corner of my bottom lip was swollen, and I had bruises on my jaw and around my right eye- close to the bandage.
I touched my bruised face carefully. They sure did a number on me. My aunt will probably think I got into a fight again. She will most definitely ground me, too.
I sighed, doing my business and then washing my hands, making sure to not wet my bandage.
When I finished, I went out and back to the room. "So, who's going to take me home?" Just as I asked that, a loud bang of a closing door was heard downstairs, making me jump. I looked at Thomas as he got up, looking worn out. Then, there was shouting added to that, and Thomas exited the room and yelled, "If you're going to argue, do it quietly! You're going to give Rhi a headache," I opened my mouth to disagree, since yelling never gave me headaches, but my head already hurt from my wound. I hoped I didn't have a concussion. That wasn't a fun experience.
I turned to Caleb for a moment since Thomas was out of hearing zone, "Who treated me?" I asked him, suddenly curious.
"Grey did," He informed me, surprising me. "Oh," Caleb nodded, as if he thought the same when Grey bandaged me.
That almost made me feel like he had a soul. Almost.
"Reagan's coming up," Klay suddenly appeared out of nowhere, out of breath, with Thomas trailing behind him.
I raised a brow. "You might want to get back into bed, it would do us all a favor." The weird boy went on, sitting on one of the chairs and shutting his eyes, as if it will make everything go away.
"What do you mean, do you all-" "Why are you not in bed?" I heard Reagan bark from behind me. I blinked at him, and then waved my hands. "Cause I'm all healthy and feeling fantastic, I can go around and not feel erratic?"
There was a complete silence after that. "No? come on, it even rhymed!"
Klay gave me a look and put a hand over his mouth, as if he was holding his laughter.
"Get back to bed, and explain everything that happened." Reagan said, crossing his arms.
I was usually annoyed at people telling me what to do, but I did kind of owed them an explanation. And my legs did hurt a bit.
After we all sat down- not including Grey, who didn't return with the other boys, I told them how a group of boys suddenly cornered me outside, and then about the big guy who started to hit me.
"Why were you there anyway? We waited for you in the cafeteria," Caleb told me, frowning with a pained expression on his face.
I thought back to what I felt the moment I saw the boys all saddled together, without me there. I couldn't bring myself to tell them about it, because I didn't know if I could truly let myself open up to them.
So instead, I said; "I had to call my aunt about something private, and didn't want anyone listening. I guess the backyard wasn't the best place to do that," I said it as a joke, but no one found it amusing.
Mentioning my aunt, I suddenly thought about my uncle and looked around. "Where's my phone?" I asked, checking the pockets of my jacket.
Reagan took my cellphone out of his jean's pocket, making me stare at him. "I found it besides you when we took you," he said, knowing exactly what I was thinking.
I nodded slowly, reaching my hand so he will hand over. my phone.
He reached his other hand and pulled my raised hand to him, then put my phone on top of it. After that, he stood up.
"Do you want me to drive you home?" He asked, his expression softer now, warmer.
I blinked, then quickly realized I couldn't let him know where I lived.
"Will you drop me off close to it? My um... sister is weird when it comes to strangers." Reagan gave me a strange look, but didn't comment. Instead, he only nodded and picked up his jacket.
Instead of wearing it himself, he threw it over to me and exited the room. I glanced at the other boys and gave them a small, confused wave.
"I'll see you guys on Monday, I guess." I said and went after Reagan, wearing his jacket over my own and tried not to sniff it too much. That would be weird.
After he stopped at the park near my house, I noticed how he didn't drive away until I was out of sight.
And that made my heart flutter.

When my aunt came back on Sunday, she was furious. To my surprise, she was more angry at my attackers than myself this time.
I know it sounds bad, but usually she's mostly angry at me, however it's for the fact I always start the fights.
She told me she would much rather I won't go to school for the at least a week, but I reassured her that I was fine.
Besides, I didn't want to miss the boys confronting my attackers. They texted me how they planned to make sure it won't happen again, and on any other day I would've tried to prevent them from doing anything since I like fighting my own battles.
However, after what those guys did to me, I knew it wouldn't hurt to let them help me, since I was in actual danger.
Uncle Bart had his own idea of helping me, of course.
And as I sat down in his office on Monday, I wasn't very surprised to see Officer Jason coming in after my uncle.
"We're going to make sure they wouldn't dare go after you again," The officer promised after he explained how they were going to press charges against my attackers, a very stern expression on his face.
I was a bit puzzled at how angry he seemed to have been at the whole incident.
Uncle Bart told me they would transfer as far as possible, but I didn't really care about that. I knew they won't even think about doing this again from past experience.
After Officer Jason exited the room, Uncle looked at me with a serious, and regretful look on his face.
"I shouldn't have brought you here," He said, passing a hand through his hair. "maybe you should go back to private school, Rhi," his words made me quickly shake my head.
"No, don't worry! I'm positive it won't happen again. Besides, the school is still not safe for girls, so I have to stay and make sure they won't go through what I did."
He sighed, but said nothing more.
"Also, about this Fridays' fights," I visibly winced from his words, with a guilty facial expression forming on my face. "Yeah, about that... I'm sorry I didn't tell you about that, its just..." Uncle Bart shook his face, stopping me.
"It's alright. Though I wished you would've told me, I also understand why you didn't. But make that no more, okay? I want to know everything going on in my school that I can't see. Do we have a deal?" I nodded, thankful I didn't get punished.
"Good. Now get back to class." I stood up, quickly making my way towards the door.
"Oh, and Rhi?" I froze, biting my bottom lip. "Yeah?" I let out.
"You know you're grounded, right?" My uncle asked, and I could tell he was smiling without even looking at his face.
"Yeah..."

"How'd it got?" Klay asked me as he stood up from the chair in front of my uncle's office. I notice how he was less clingy and annoying than usual, and thought that maybe because of what happened, he didn't want to annoy me.
Or maybe I just got use to him.
I shrugged in reply for his question as he walked me to my class. "He only said they were expelled and there were charges against them." He nodded, and there was silent between us.
"We had to stop Reagan from looking for them twice.-Oliver almost got punched once." I let out a small laugh, but it wasn't really something to laugh about.
"Why does it seems like Reagan was the most agitated about my situation?" I asked him after a while.
Klay had a thoughtful expression, and he gave me a serious look before answering. "Because he is," I stopped in place, Klay looking at me as he stopped walking as well.
"It's because we're friends, right?" I asked.
I had two reasons for asking this. The first was to actually confirm if they were my friends. Well, most of them.
The second... was to know if maybe Reagan saw me as... more than a friend.
After what felt like forever, Klay opened his mouth to answer, but a scream from outside made both of us freeze.
We exchange looks, and if it was any of the other guys they probably would've locked me to make sure I won't go and try save the day.
But since it was Klay, he ran right after me to source of the scream, which led us to the backyard.
Other students already went after us, hearing the yelling just like we did.
On the ground, I saw a boy pulling on his friends hand to stand up, but it was like he was in a trance.
"He's gone," I heard him mumbled. "He's gone, they are all gone!" The boys started to yell, trashing in his friends hold.
"One of us is going to be next, until they will take us all!" I frowned, looking at Klay who shared the same look.
He turned to a guy who stared at the scene and talked to his friend. "Hey, do you know what's going on?" Klay asked him.
The boy had a pair of blue eyes and black hair. He first stared at me, his gaze passing over my face, and the looked at Klay.
"Didn't you hear about those guys? Four of their friends disappeared since the beginning of the year," Klay thanked him, and then looked at me.
But that number was nothing to what was going to come next.
