A week later, I woke up and sneezed. And again. And again. And again, until my aunt started to sound like a nun from all her blessing.

When I found myself coughing loudly, she told me to change my clothes back to my pajamas and hop into bed.

I stared at her for a very long time to see if she was pranking me. She wasn't.

In the end, I found myself waiting at the bus station, the rain pouring as I coughed myself to death.

Almost.

Today it seems like the bus' driver took his time to arrive.

I planned on eating my pretzel while I walked, but I found it very difficult to do with the umbrella which was so heavy I needed both hands.

Unfortunately for me, the driver gave me a hard glare when I took it out of my bag. I wasn't in the mood to skip my way to school I the rain, so I shoved it back in, not before returning him a glare of my own.

Yeah, look at me. You're not the only one who can have a nasty look on their face.

If there weren't any other passengers, I swear he would have given me the finger- even if he was in his mid fifty.

When I got off the bus as quickly as I could, I made sure to be as far away from the bus as possible.

Some cars manage to get drops of water on me, instead.

Bless those kind souls, who will drive faster over the bumpers in the road.

As I stepped into the building, I started to eat my breakfast, walking towards my locker.

"Hey, Rhi, do you know wha-" My sneeze cut off Caleb as he came in front of me. "Yeah?" I asked, blowing my nose in a piece of tissue. "Are you okay? You look kind of pale." I waved my hand, denying his words. "Don't worry about me! Rhi is as healthy as lion!" Caleb blinked, looking weirdly at me. "You just spoke about yourself in third person," He remarked.

I stared at him for a few moments. "Oh. Really?" He nodded. I shrugged just as the bell rang.

"So, what did you-" "Ms. Martins, where you not notified about the 'no eating in the hallways' rule?" I leaned my head on the locker besides my open one to hold myself from banging it on the wall in annoyance.

Caleb's eyes widened a bit, looking at the vice principal. "Sorry sir, won't happen again." Mr. Hobson crossed his arms and scowled at me.

"It sure won't. Now get to class before I send you to detention."

I rolled my eyes as I closed the locker door, muttering "As*hole," under my breath. "What was that?" I pursed my lips. "There's a hole in the grass at the back yard." The vice principal narrowed his eyes, but said nothing more. Caleb and I took the opportunity to run to our class.

A fight started in the gym at some point of the day. No one knew what happened, but it was clear to everyone what will happen. Uncle Bart went for a meeting outside of the school, so all of the responsibility fell on everybody's favorite vice-principal.

At lunch time, another fight broke down.

Three days before the usual Friday's fight, things have not been looking up for the boys. If fights wouldn't stop accruing, they will make sure to watch them at all times. Even during lunch.

Which would be worse, because the way they will try to make it happen will most definitely be dangerous. How far would they go? That was a question I couldn't stop thinking until Friday.

The vice principal has been put in a lot more pressure, which made him in a sustained short tempered and suspicious. I've know better than to get in his way.

"Do you think Mr. Hobson's rage will stop any time soon?" I asked Caleb, taking a bite of my apple before coughing. He looked at me like he was making sure I wasn't dying, and then shrugged his shoulders. I hummed, looking around.

"Why did all of this fights started, anyway?" I asked, more to myself. "That's a good question." Caleb said, just as I felt someone head on the back of my neck. In reflex, my head went backwards, knocking into his head. We both groaned in pain. Turning around, I faced Klay. His hair was black and red now, making me wonder when he changed it. "What the hell is wrong with you?" I glared at him, rubbing the hurt area. Klay pouted at me, holding his arms as if he was expecting me to hug him. "I really really missed you, Rhi!" I lifted a brow at him. Then, I turned around. Caleb looked at me with a little amused smile. "Aww, Rhi! Don't ignore me like that! I really really really- Ouch!" I turned to him again when I heard a bang. "Shut up already." Reagan looked at him in annoyance, Oliver patting his hurt friend like he was feeling sorry for him, but if Reagan wouldn't have hit him, he would. I smirked at him. "That's what you get for..." I hold my finger as I stopped my sentence, waiting for the sneeze to come out before continuing, "being annoying today." Klay crossed his arms and sat on a chair across from me, scoffing and muttering like a little boys. "I am not annoying..." Reagan rolled his eyes and turned to go, but then stopped when I sneezed again. "Bless you," he said quietly and brought me the box of tissues from the other said of the table. I nodded at him, saying "thank you" just as he made his way out of the cafeteria. Oliver looked at me, an unreadable look on his face- as usual. I return his look, even though I was sure I didn't succeed very well. Oliver blinked. "I'm calling you Ice from now on." I told him, making him to tilt his head to side. Klay glared at his friend, then looked at me again. "What about me? Give me a nickname too!" He whined, making a few heads to turn in his direction. Oliver sat down and looked at us like we were a part of a play. I, in the other hand, felt like I was in a zoo.

"You really want one?" "YES!" I lifted a brow, looking at him as if I was making sure he was serious.

"You really really want it?" "Yes yes, give me one! I'll even give you options; The handsome out of the group, The better one, The best, The sexy with the amazing hair, The-" "Pain in my goddamn a*s. How is that?" I said, getting up as the bell rang. I walked with Caleb to my next class, laughing as I heard Klay complaining to his quiet friend.

Pain in my a*s it is.

A day before Friday, another fight took place. This time, I was a witness.

I was walking in the main halls from my math class, my brain's not quite working, when I heard yelling. Not the typical "If you run in to me again I'll beat you're a*s". No.

I've seen a lot of fights in my life (most of them on TV, but that's not the point.) to know it meant troubles.

"What the..." I moved to the side as two boys fell on top of each other on the floor, punching without mercy. Why was everyone so keen on killing themselves?

"Hey!" I yelled, pulling one of the boys to me, "What the f*ck is going on?!" I could feel the adrenalin in me burning, as if waiting to hit anyone who will get to close to me. "I don't f*cking know! I passed down the hall when someone tried to punch me!" I frowned, letting him go.

Suddenly my eyes fell on a familiar blond boy. "Elliot?" I found myself whispering his name, but then yelling it louder to call his attention to me. "Elliot!" I wasn't sure he heard me. I wasn't sure he could hear anything. He stood close to the lockers, trying to figure out how to pass through the crowed. The stick in his hand didn't do much of a help.

I rushed through everyone, receiving a few elbows at my head and throat. I could barley breathe, let alone see.

Somehow, I managed to get to Elliot. I called his name again, and now that I was a few feet from him, he could tell where the voice was coming from. "New girl?" He called back, breathing heavily. "Hang on!" I told him, shoving away a figure that almost fell on me. "I'm almost there! Are you okay?" At first I thought he didn't hear me, but then he said, "I don't need your f*cking help!" I heaved, finding even harder to breathe when I had a cold, and I could only do it from my mouth. "Don't worry, I need help too," Elliot looked at me in confusion. "What the hell does that suppose to mean?" I shook my head, "Never mind, give me your hand." He scoffed at me. "Just do it, I can barely stand. Help me, please." I hoped he will feel better when he will think he's the helping side. It was true, though. I couldn't stand while being suffocated like that. Eventually, Elliot's hand found mine. "Thank you, help me out please," I asked him, putting my hand on his shoulder as I lean on him, moving us through the fighting. I coughed, breathing deeply when we were out of the crowd. "Thanks, that was hell of-" Suddenly, a hand reached out, pulling me backwards. Without even thinking, I waved my hand, punching the skin. Someone groaned in pain and the hand released me. Elliot made his way down the halls until I couldn't see him, and it was only then I realized who I punch.

"Oh my... Mr. Hobson, I am so sorry, I thought you were-" "Ms. Martins!" The vice principal called, a hand on his face. "I'm sorry, I really didn't mean it, I thought you were-" "Enough! Ms. Martins, to my office immediately!" I gaped at him. "N-no, you don't understand, I-" "Now! And you two," He pointed at the two teachers that came with him. "break this goddamn fight while I'll handle this one!" I swallowed heavily as I walked after Mr. Hobson.

I just punched the vice principal, and I had a feeling I should be very scared of the consequences.
