Chapter 34: Teasing Goes Wrong

"You're quite beaten up, huh..." Kiana remarked as she saw Glynne laying on the ground while panting heavily. His whole body is covered in dirt and bruises, and on his hair was pieces of small sticks and grasses.

Glynne got up, abiet slowly, and lean his upper body on the tree trunk. "You.... think so?...." he asked inbetween his breath as he tried tending his wounds.

"This was as expected, I was surprised when you suggested we have a spar." Fu Hua says as she walk towards him.

"Well, I figured it is faster to learn how to control this thing by practical applications." Glynne shrugged his shoulders. Despite being a crazy idea, it always work for him as this was the way they do it back to when he was at the frontline.

Fu Hua wrinkled her eyebrows as she was worried about the boy's mindset. She got near him and put her hand over his injuries. Her hand let out a dim glow as the boy felt his fatigued being elevated.

"Oh, so it can also be used like this?" Glynne said in an amused tone.

"Yes, the basic use of Ki is to strengthen the inner core. Borrowing that principle, I manipulated it to boost your body's natural recovery." Fu Hua explained while moving to another injury.

"If that was the case, then how are you able to shoot out projectiles?" Glynne asked while he is stretching his arms to feel it not hurting anymore.

"That, I believe is still too early for you to know." said Fu Hua as she was reluctant to explain it. It was a technique that requires a certain mastery in manipulating Ki, the knowledge of using it would only hinder someone who don't even know how to use the said energy.

"Is that so" Glynne said, understanding his friend's stance.

A few minutes has passed, Fu Hua was able to finish the treatment. "That should do it," she stood up and offered her hand. The boy was grateful for it as he grasped it to help him stand.

"Hey, are you forgetting something." Kiana said in a threatening voice. Glynne look over her direction to see her pouting as she dislikes being ignored.

"Ah," Glynne put a fist on top of his palm, as if he just realised it just now. "I almost forgot you're also here."

"Oi, what do you mean that?" Kiana said as she tries to grab his collar. However Glynne was able to slipped through it and quickly gained some distance.

Kiana was surprised by the maneuver and quickly tries to catch him again. However he just keeps avoiding it again and again. "Why are you dodging?!"

"What are you talking about?" Glynne is feinting ignorance as he shrugged his shoulders.

Ah, the sweet, sweet revenge of the years of teasing by the older Kaslana. Though she was not Siegfried, she was still someone related to him. That is enough reason to enact his revenge. He can't help his lips curving into a smirk.

Of course, Kiana was able to see it, thus further agitating her. Her pace of trying to catch Glynne has increased, so does the rate the boy was dodging. As such, the impromptu game of cat and mouse begun.

"Oopsie, is that all you got." Glynne taunted while snickering as he dodge another one of Kiana's grab. It was fortunate that he was wearing his battlesuit. This give him an advantage over Kiana as she was only wearing the normal school uniform.

However there is one miscalculation....

"Ei!" Kiana jumps, making the wind go through her skirt. Yep~ with Glynne's sharp eyes, he was able to catch a glimpse of something white and blue. His face flushed red as he freezes in place. This give his pursuer the opportunity to pounce and pinned the boy down on the ground. "Gotcha!"

Glynne is feeling a sense of deja vu. Say, how many times he was in this kind of position this week?

"I-I give in." the boy was feeling awkward after seeing her stripe underwear. Despite the girl on top of him, he was facing to the side to avoid her meeting gaze.

However, because of this he was able to see Fu Hua on the corner of his eyes. It was clear for him to notice the look of disgust on her face. It was not hard to conclude that she has noticed what happened earlier.

"Oi, where are you looking at?" Kiana grab his head and force him to look directly at her face. Glynne eyes widen as her blue eyes is just a few inches away from him. Remembering the scene a while ago, his felt his face heating up as it reddened further. "I'm feeling a bit generous today. So would you care to explain what you said a while ago...."

There was a audible gulped as Glynne has a cold sweat go down his forehead. It took him a few minutes to explain and apologize before Kiana released him. But of course, he didn't mention about the accident. It wasn't his entire fault to begin with.

As Glynne got up and patted the dirt of his clothes, he didn't notice a girl approaching his back. "Ouch!" he cried in pain as something hit his foot.

"Are you alright, Glynne?" Fu Hua suddenly appeared from behind him, making him startled. However despite her worried words, he didn't feel any shred of worry in her tone. It was not long til Glynne notice that she might be still angry about it.

"By the way Kiana," Glynne's face is twitching as he tries to divert the subject. "I been wanting to ask this but do you have some business with either of us?"

"Actually, yeah." Kiana seems to remember her original purpose as she searched in her pockets. She pulled out a piece of folded paper and show them what it is "Tadaa!"

It was a test paper, to be exact it was the test paper that is given to her as a reviewer for the upcoming exam. Both of them let out an amazed voice as they clapped at the average score that is written on top right corner. I mean, that is a huge accomplishment considering how Kiana acts towards studying.

"And also this!" Kiana pulled another piece of paper. This time, it's a pamphlet that is promoting an all you can eat buffet. "We decided to go to this place to have a celebration!"

"Hey Fu Hua," Glynne moves closer and whispered to her ears. "Won't this kind of restaurants go bankrupt if we go in with Kiana?"

"It the opposite actually." Fu hua rejects Glynne's idea and started explaining. "Kiana is already infamous for eating a lot but this is only the case for any delicious meals. Using that logic, the amount she consumed is used as an advertisement to gather more customers, thus quickly regaining back their money. By the way, it is considered the highest honor in Soukai city if she was able eat all of their prepared food. Though none was still able to achieve this."

"I see," Glynne put a hand on his chin as he begun thinking. Business is not something that he was good at, however he was still amaze at the people who was able to think of such a ridiculous strategy. It was something like the equivalent version of the stars that are given to a high quality restaurant.

Seeing the two getting close to each other while ignoring her again, Kiana pouted and got in between them. "Hey, don't ignore me!" she complained.

Glynne smiled wryly at Kiana's antics. "Sorry bout that, I just need to clarify something from her."

"Geez, is it necessary to get that close to her?" Kiana said while she look at the boy.

"......" Glynne was silent for a while. What she said was like how a jealous girlfriend would say. However, he manage shrugged it off since he knows Kiana enough to not misunderstand her.

"Ah, about your invitation." luckily, Fu Hua was here to divert the subject back as the atmosphere was beginning to get awkward "I'm sorry Kiana but I can't make it since I'll be busy this afternoon."

"I-I see," Kiana seems to be crestfallen. "Are you also the same, Glynne?"

"Urk.." Glynne was taken aback at at the her pitiful gaze. However his decision was already been set to stone since a while ago. "Well unlike Fu Hua, I don't have any plans for later. So yeah, I'm in."

"Yay!" Kiana's mood quickly turned into 180 degrees as she was overjoyed and hugged Glynne. Even though he was wearing thick clothes, he can still feel something soft pressing against him. However he don't have the leeway of enjoying it as he feels an intense glare coming from a certain... Uhm...slim woman.

Phew, I'm preoccupied with quite a lot of things lately. I might need to slow down on this one for now. But well, that depends if I don't have that much time in writing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
