Chapter 33: Batle Simulation (Part 2)

A couple of minutes later, the number of honkai beast spawning begun to dwindle down.

Fu Hua gather Ki energy on her fist and punched forward, knocking over the gathered groups of giant mosquito like honkai beast.

Meanwhile, Elena put over her hand on the rapier and begun loading it with honkai energy. She dropped down her stance and charged forward leaving a trail of electricity. Those who are hit begun vibrating in midair as they were shock by rogue lightnings.

However there are still few which are left unharmed. The two stared at them as prepared their stances to intercept them.

It was only subtle but both Elena and Fu Hua are beginning to breathe deeply in set intervals. Though the radical level honkai beast can be taken down in one to two shots, dealing with a huge quantity of them would still be exhausting.

RRRRAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGG!!!

There was a loud roar followed by a clanging on what it seems to be a shield. The trees at the distance are being knock down one by one as the big creature draws near.

Elena and Fu Hua tense up as it seems like it the time for the Elite monster to appear. They had a sense of urgency and quickly hasten the subjugation of the weaker ones, since it may hinder them when facing it.

"This is the last one!" Elena declared and pierced through the final Radical level honkai beast.

Creakkkk!.......... THUD!!

It was in time as a tree near them crashed onto the ground. They look over to its direction and see a seven feet tall humanoid honkai beast that looks like a white knight.

Templar level honkai beast. They are known for the big shield they carry and the a sword that looks like a purple beam of honkai energy.

Putting its shield on front, it dropped down its stance and begin running towards them. Its intention is clear as the two girls dodge to the sides.

"Hiyah!"

"Hah!"

They shouted as they both simultaneously strike on the side of the beast. However, it didn't connect as it seems like there was a thin transparent membrane that seems to act like a barrier. Elena and Fu Hua has no choice as they quickly gain their distance.

"Tsk! This one's tough" Elena complained.

"Seems like we need to break its barrier first before we can land a successful attack on its body." Fu Hua explained.

Elena can't help but frown as she is rendered useless. In order the break barriers, blunt or heavy weapons are the best choice. Her rapier is simply for piercing and slashing, in which is not that effective against armor and barriers as it has a high chance to be deflected. Though she hate to admit it, this types of honkai beast is one of her weaknesses. She has no other choice but to rely on Fu Hua.

Nodding at each other, Elena retreated back as her teammate goes into fighting stance and covered her entire body in an orange aura.

"I would appreciate, if you two don't forget about me... " a voice goes through their earpiece as a steak of light passes overhead them. It hit the the honkai beast's shield and cause an small explosion. Of course, all three present in the battlefield was caught off guard by this.

It was a good thing Glynne was able to do some customizing yesterday. He didn't think that the prototype explosive round he created just for fun would be useful the next day.

A standard anti-material sniper round would simply try to pierce the armor of an opponent, this would put him in a league similar to Elena. However with the explosive bullets that he made, he would be able to do a lot of damage on the outer shells, such as barriers.

Glynne's gun released the used bullet cartridge as it quickly loaded another round on its chamber. He breath deeply while he aimed the muzzle again at the honkai beast.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! The Templar honkai beast received another four shots on its shield as it was pushed back in every explosion. Once the onslaught is finish, its barrier has become thinner to the point that it is already flickering out.

Glynne only made enough for one magazine, after he took the fifth shot, he declared that he is officially run out of the special bullets.

"Fu Hua, its your turn now! You can probably take out the barrier in one or two hits!" Glynne informed his teammate. "Prepare yourself Elena! once the barrier is broken, quickly followed up and deal as much damage as you can!"

""Roger!"" Both answered in the heat of the moment.

Fu Hua quickly closes the distance and released huge ball of Ki energy up closed. It create a mini explosion as the shield was deflected upwards. With this, its stance has been disrupted and the barrier is no more.

As the honkai beast stunned by its barrier being broken, Elena wasted no time and quickly swooped in and begun an onslaught of attacks. Fu Hua also joined as she released a flurry of kicks and punches.

However it seems like their damage output was not enough to finish it. The Templar is showing signs of recovery as it twitches and tries to raise its weapons.

"Both of you, pull back!!" Glynne ordered through their radio. Elena and Fu Hua followed as they quickly gain some distance. They felt a huge amount of energy gathering to where the boy is positioned.

They looked back and see visible winds swirling with Glynne's gun muzzle as the center. The boys eyes are glowing green as he steadied himself and aim his gun at the recovering Templar level honkai beast.

"All in!" He shouted and press the trigger. All bullet on his magazine merged together and came out of the barrel. Fu Hua and Elena was surprised as they failed to see any bullet flying, however the huge hole that appeared on the honkai abdomen is a clear evidence of his shot.

"Simulation is over. Clear time, 13 minutes and 42 seconds." the speaker announced as the honkai beast fell into the ground and reverted back to its holographic appearance and shattered like glass. The surrounding soon followed and disappears after a few seconds leaving only a wide empty white room with three people

Glynne, Elena, and Fu Hua quickly grouped up as they walk out of the room.

"Your not bad for a male." Elena proclaimed right after they reach the resting lounge. She looks at Glynne who was sitting on the couch while drinking a canned soda.

"Thanks, you aren't bad yourself too." it was his honest opinion. If one discard her weakness against armored opponents, her power level would be probably around Rank C, just a few steps behind Kiana. He didn't understand why she was using such an inefficient weapon though, but it was not his place to question that.

Elena breath out a sign, seemingly preparing herself. "You know, I just recalled that we never officially introduced ourselves. My name is Elena Mason."

Glynne wasn't sure if this means that he was being recognized or not. He just smiled as he also introduced himself. "Glynne Romero, the Crash boy" Elena giggled at the boy's attempt at humor.

"Anyway, please do not misunderstand. Compared to the others, you are a bit more decent." Elena complimented while flipping her hair. "However I still hate you."

"Don't worry, the feelings mutual." Glynne's flashed a smirk. Both of them seems to develop into some sort of a frenemy relationship.

"That said, it was nice knowing you." with Elena's business already done, she turned around and leave the area.

"Yeah, see you around... " Glynne muttered as he watch her disappear on the corner.

"I am surprised you were able to see through her." This time, it was Fu Hua who approached him. She sat right next to him while drinking green tea. She noticed how Glynne was about to offer a handshake to Elena, but retracted it and turned it into a waving goodbye so it wouldn't look so awkward.

"So it was as I suspected, she has a case of androphobia." Glynne muttered as he scratched the back of his head. He got suspicious when Elena's reactions towards him seems to be a bit too much if she simply hates males.

Though her mouth kept spouting poison, he never really felt a hostility coming from her. The feeling was more like her wanting Glynne to get away.

Her title of a man-hater, it seems like it was only a defensive mechanisms she thought out so that men would not willingly approach her. Because of this, she wouldn't deal with her fear on daily basis.

Glynne can't help but released a huge sigh. He was quite awe at Elena's actions. She was able to gather such animosity that even he was naturally caught in the flow. Just how is she managing that is just beyond him. She was like treading on a thin line, it only need one misstep all of it may come back and bite her.

It's really hard to not judge a book by the cover — he thought as he drank his soda.

"By the way, I would really appreciate it if you inform me first about testing me." Glynne said as he glanced over at the girl who is calmly sipping her tea.

"What are you talking about?" Fu Hua said as she put down her drink. She look at Glynne while tilting her head, visibility confused.

"Nothing... " Glynne replied and let out another sigh. He knows she's only feinting ignorance. He knew from his guts the real reason why he was team-upped with Elena. However, since the culprit seems unwilling to talk about it, he just shrugged it off and leaned his head on the sofa.
