The evening air on Zou was crisp, carrying the scent of the forest and the salty ocean far below. Gaku sat cross-legged on a wooden platform overlooking the village, the faint glow of torches illuminating the area. Lili perched beside him, his eyes fixed on the sea of stars above. The two chiefs, Nekomamushi and Inuarashi, approached quietly, their presence commanding but not overbearing.

"Gaku," Nekomamushi began, his gravelly voice tinged with curiosity, "you called for us. What's on your mind?"

Gaku exhaled deeply, leaning back on his metal arms. His eyes flicked toward the chiefs, their towering forms framed by the night sky. "I need to tell you something important," he said, his tone unusually serious.

Inuarashi tilted his head slightly, his expression calm but attentive. "Go on," he urged.

"I didn't have much of a choice," Gaku admitted, his voice low. "Blackbeard showed up, and he gave me an ultimatum: join his crew or watch this island fall to ruin."

Both chiefs exchanged a sharp glance, their expressions darkening. "That bastard," Nekomamushi growled, his claws flexing unconsciously. "Threatening Zou? He's as cowardly as ever."

Inuarashi placed a hand on Nekomamushi's shoulder, calming him. "And you accepted," he said, not as a question but as a statement.

Gaku nodded. "I did. But not because I believe in his cause. I'll use this opportunity to gather information and power—enough to eventually break free from his grasp. He doesn't know it, but he's just a stepping stone."

The chiefs were silent for a moment, their faces unreadable. Finally, Nekomamushi chuckled, his sharp teeth glinting in the torchlight. "Heh, I like your style, Gaku. Always thinking ahead."

"But this path is dangerous," Inuarashi interjected, his tone serious. "Blackbeard isn't someone you can easily manipulate. He's cunning, ruthless, and unpredictable."

"I know," Gaku replied, meeting their gazes. "That's why I wanted to talk to you. I need your support—at least for now. If you ever hear of islands or safe havens where the minks could relocate, let me know. And if I can, I'll keep you informed about his plans."

The chiefs exchanged another glance before nodding in unison.

"You've earned our trust, Gaku," Nekomamushi said, his voice firm. "If this is the path you've chosen, we'll support you in any way we can."

"But be cautious," Inuarashi warned. "The minks will always be your allies, but if Blackbeard finds out about your true intentions..."

"I know," Gaku interrupted. "I'll be careful."

Lili, who had been silent until now, piped up, his voice unusually soft. "It's just... I hate this, Gaku. I hate that you're putting yourself in danger again."

Gaku reached out and ruffled Lili's fur, offering a rare, small smile. "We've been through worse, haven't we?"

Lili sighed but nodded. "Yeah... but it doesn't make it any easier."

As the conversation wound down, the chiefs extended their hands to Gaku in a gesture of solidarity. He clasped them firmly, a silent agreement passing between them.

"You'll always have a place here, Gaku," Inuarashi said.

"And don't forget," Nekomamushi added with a toothy grin, "if you ever need a good fight or a stiff drink, Zou's the place to be."

With that, the chiefs departed, leaving Gaku and Lili to their thoughts. The little black cat turned to his companion, his golden eyes filled with worry. "Do you really think we can pull this off, Gaku?"

Gaku didn't answer immediately. Instead, he gazed out at the vast expanse of the ocean, the weight of his decisions heavy on his shoulders. "I don't know," he admitted. "But we'll find out soon enough."

The sun rose slowly over the vast expanse of Zou, painting the skies in hues of gold and crimson. The massive elephant groaned as it moved, the sound reverberating through the dense forest and the village nestled atop its back. Gaku and Lili stood near the edge of the platform overlooking the sea far below, their belongings packed and ready for the journey ahead.

A small crowd of minks had gathered to see them off, their faces a mixture of gratitude and sorrow. Wanda, Carrot, and Pedro stood at the front, their expressions reflecting the bond they had formed with the two visitors over the past month.

"You'll always have a home here," Wanda said warmly, placing a hand on Gaku's arm. "Don't forget that."

"Yeah!" Carrot chimed in, bouncing with energy. "Come back soon, okay? We'll have a feast ready for you!"

Gaku gave a faint smirk, his usual stoic demeanor softened by their kindness. "We'll see," he replied.

Pedro stepped forward, his gaze serious. "Gaku, Lili... Be careful out there. Blackbeard isn't someone to underestimate."

Lili nodded, his ears twitching nervously. "We'll keep our heads down—for now."

The two chiefs, Nekomamushi and Inuarashi, approached, their imposing figures commanding the attention of everyone present.

"Take care of yourselves," Nekomamushi said, his voice gruff but genuine. "And remember what we talked about."

Inuarashi added, "The minks will always stand by you. But tread carefully, Gaku. Blackbeard is a dangerous game to play."

Gaku clasped their hands firmly. "I'll keep that in mind."

With their farewells said, Gaku and Lili descended the giant chains that hung from Zunesha's back, their silhouettes growing smaller as they reached the small boat waiting below.

The Den Den Mushi crackled to life one more time as Blackbeard's deep, boisterous laugh echoed across the line.

"Zehahahaha! Gaku, my boy, it's time to introduce you to the rest of the family!" he bellowed. "Come to Hachinosu immediately. We're throwing a party in your honor!"

Gaku, sitting on the edge of their small boat with Lili beside him, raised an eyebrow. He could feel Lili's unease even without looking at him.

"Got it," Gaku said curtly, cutting the call.

Lili, his tail flicking nervously, asked, "Do you think it's really just a party? Or does he have something else planned?"

Gaku sighed, his crimson eyes scanning the horizon. "It doesn't matter. We'll find out soon enough."

As their small boat docked at Hachinosu, the air was thick with the smell of salt, smoke, and liquor. The Pirate Island buzzed with activity, its chaotic streets alive with music, laughter, and the occasional brawl. The towering fortress  Nnat its center loomed like a sinister sentinel, casting long shadows over the rest of the island.

A group of pirates awaited them at the dock, led by none other than Shiryu of the Rain. His cold gaze swept over Gaku and Lili as he took a drag from his cigar.

"So, you're the new guy," Shiryu said, his tone flat. "Don't get in my way."

Gaku ignored the comment and stepped off the boat, his movements calm and deliberate. Lili followed closely, his ears twitching as he took in the threatening atmosphere.

"Follow me," Shiryu said, turning on his heel. "The captain's waiting."

When Gaku and Lili entered the massive hall, they were immediately engulfed by the chaotic atmosphere. The Blackbeard Pirates were an eclectic group, each member radiating danger in their own unique way. Gaku's crimson eyes swept over them, mentally cataloging the faces he recognized from bounties and whispered rumors.

At the head of the table, Blackbeard roared with laughter, raising his oversized mug of ale.

To his right sat Aokiji, the former admiral, his expression calm but unreadable as he sipped quietly from his glass. The contrast between the two was stark, but their shared presence was enough to make the air feel heavy.

"Welcome to the crew, Gaku!" Blackbeard bellowed. "Tonight, we celebrate your arrival! Zehahaha!"

The rest of the officers raised their drinks in a loud cheer, though the enthusiasm varied from genuine to suspicious.

As the night went on, Gaku and Lili found themselves approached by nearly every member of the Blackbeard Pirates.

Aokiji was the first to speak with him. He approached slowly, his icy demeanor making Lili shiver. "So, you're the new guy. Tell me... do you know what you've gotten yourself into?"

Gaku met his gaze evenly. "I'm not naïve. I'll handle it."

Aokiji smirked faintly. "We'll see." With that, he walked away, leaving behind a frosty chill.

Shiryu of the Rain, the crew's swordsman, was next. He leaned in close, his cigar trailing smoke. "You're strong. I can see it. Just don't cross me, or you'll find out why they call me Shiryu of the Rain."

Gaku didn't bother to respond, earning a smirk from Shiryu.

Van Augur, the crew's sniper, watched from afar, his piercing eyes locked on Gaku. When he finally spoke, his tone was as cold as his aim. "Every crew needs a balance of skill and strategy. I wonder which one you are."

Gaku replied with his usual stoic calm. "You'll find out soon enough."

Jesus Burgess was the loudest and most boisterous, clapping Gaku on the back with enough force to make even Lili flinch. "Ha! Another strong guy! I can't wait to see what you're made of!"

Doc Q and Stronger approached quietly, the doctor's sickly appearance and grim demeanor unsettling Lili. "I hope you're... healthy," Doc Q muttered with a weak smile. "We wouldn't want any sudden... accidents."

Lili bristled, but Gaku's calm gaze silenced him.

Lafitte, with his eerie elegance, observed Gaku and Lili for a long moment before speaking. "Welcome to our little family," he said, his voice smooth but insincere. "I trust you'll play your part well."

Finally, Sanjuan Wolf, Avalo Pizarro, Catarina Devon, and Vasco Shot offered their own greetings, each as intimidating as the last.

Sanjuan Wolf, the enormous battleship-sized giant, gave a booming laugh. "You're so tiny! How are you strong?"

Avalo Pizarro, the corrupt king, eyed Gaku with a calculating gaze. "Hmm, maybe you're useful after all."

Catarina Devon, the crew's sadistic huntress, smirked wickedly. "I hope you're fun to play with, newbie."

Vasco Shot, already drunk, stumbled over and slurred something unintelligible.

As the feast continued, Aokiji approached Gaku one more time, this time away from the noise. He stood beside him, looking out at the dark sea.

"Blackbeard doesn't invite people into his crew lightly," Aokiji said. "He either sees you as an asset or a threat."

"I know," Gaku replied simply.

Aokiji gave him a sidelong glance. "You've got guts. But don't get comfortable. No one here trusts anyone else, and loyalty only lasts as long as you're useful."

Gaku nodded, the weight of Aokiji's words sinking in. "Thanks for the advice."

Toward the end of the night, Blackbeard motioned for Gaku to follow him outside. A few of the officers watched with interest, but no one followed. Lili trailed behind, his small form nearly hidden in Gaku's shadow.

Outside, the moonlight bathed the rocky terrain in silver. Blackbeard's grin was as wide as ever, but his eyes held a calculating glint.

"Zehahaha! That went well, didn't it?" Blackbeard said, slapping Gaku on the shoulder. "Now, let's talk about your first job."

Gaku crossed his arms, his expression calm. "What do you need?"

Blackbeard grinned as he handed a crumpled sheet of paper to Gaku. The dim light from the room illuminated the faint outline of a wanted poster on it. Gaku unfolded the paper and scanned its contents.

"Gem," he muttered, reading the name aloud.

The image on the paper showed a sharp-featured man with spiked hair and a cocky smirk, his hands glowing faintly as if they radiated heat. A former member of Baroque Works, the infamous bounty-hunting group that had once been the bane of Alabasta, Gem was now on the run, apparently trying to establish himself as a rising pirate. His epithet, "The Bomb Man," was derived from his explosive Devil Fruit ability, the Bomu Bomu no Mi, which allowed him to detonate anything he touched, including his own body, without injury.

Gaku raised an eyebrow, unimpressed at first glance but curious nonetheless. "What's so special about him?"

Blackbeard leaned back, his grin widening. "Oh, he ain't special now, but that fruit of his? That's got potential. You'd be surprised what kind of havoc a fruit like that can wreak in the right hands. And you, my friend, are gonna bring him to me. Alive."

Van Augur, who stood silently nearby, added, "He was last seen around the Winter Isles, gathering a small crew. Local bounty hunters are struggling to take him down, but they say he's getting bolder. He might even come after the wrong territory soon."

Lili, who had been sitting quietly beside Gaku, looked at the paper with mild interest. "Sounds like a dangerous guy. Explosions, huh? Guess that's one way to make a statement."

Blackbeard laughed, the sound rumbling through the room. "Dangerous? Nah, not to someone like Gaku here! This is child's play for a guy who just knocked down Jack. Consider this your warm-up!"

Gaku glanced at Lili, who gave him a small nod of encouragement. He then turned back to Blackbeard. "Fine. I'll get your bomb man. But don't think for a second this is about loyalty. It's a job, nothing more."

Teach clapped his hands together, clearly pleased. "That's the spirit! Don't let me down, Gaku. Oh, and take this." He tossed Gaku a small Den Den Mushi, its antenna curling as it chirped softly. "Keep in touch. I want updates. And remember, I want him alive. If you bring him back dead, that fruit's useless to me."

Gaku pocketed the Den Den Mushi and stood, the paper still in his hand. "Let's get this over with."

As he and Lili walked out of the room, the noise of the Blackbeard Pirates' feast resumed behind them. Lili glanced up at him, her eyes narrowed. "This guy better be worth it. The Bomu Bomu no Mi doesn't exactly scream 'game-changer' to me."

Gaku smirked faintly, his mind already running through strategies. "I don't know about that, it definitely has potential, I, for example, could make better use of it than him."

Lili sighed. "Always thinking two steps ahead. Just make sure you don't blow us up in the process."

They shared a brief chuckle before falling silent again, the weight of their new journey settling over them. As the ship prepared to sail, the pair exchanged one last glance, determination etched into their expressions. This was just the beginning.
