4 days we've been traveling making my hybrids and surprising Lilly's been getting on well with a few of them. She thinks it's funny as hell that they call me 'Sir Klaus' but you gotta love the sire bond, they'll do anything I tell them to.

I left Lilly at the hotel we're staying at leaving 4 of my hybrids to make sure she doesn't leave the room, not because I thought she would run, well it was partly because of that but it was mostly for her protection.

After turning my newest editions of hybrids I found in Portland I headed back to my car only to stop when my phone started ringing, pulling it out of my pocket I smirked as I saw the name appear on my screen.

"Portland's fantastic once you get over the whiney music and healthy looking people, it's literally a breeding ground for werewolves" I spoke looking around the woods. "Your father's dead" That was it, not build up, just straight dropped the bombshell. "What did you say?" I gritted out.

"Oh, I'm sorry, not your actual father and not dead, Mikael, daggered. What do you want me to do with the body?" He asked making me grit my teeth. "Well first I want you to explain to me exactly what happened" I told him making him go on and tell me how Mikael followed Elena to the Salvatore house trying to use her as bate so him and Damon vervained him and found a dagger on him which Elena used putting him down.

"I want to see him, I want to see his rotting body for myself" I gritted out. "Well he's here, come by whenever" Stefan mumbled making me raise my eyebrows knowing there was something missing. "If you're lying to me Stefan your compulsion will expose you, so answer with your life, is what you're saying the truth?" I asked looking around me.

A human and 2 diluted vampires couldn't get the better of Mikael. "It's true, I saw it with my own eyes" Stefan answered bringing me out of my thoughts, I glared down at the floor. "I want to speak to Rebekah" I spoke as I glared at the floor, which intensified as I could tell she was lying, my own sister lying to me, setting me up for my own demise.

Once I finished with the call I jumped in the car speeding off to the hotel to get Lilly and my hybrids. Walking into our room I smiled and not a fake smile, a true smile, Lilly was asleep on the bed like a starfish. I gathered all my hybrids up and told them to follow me to Mystic Falls and told them what they needed to do before I picked Lilly up and sped down to the car that I had been using.

It took us a full day to drive back but I had Tyler arrange to have the homecoming at his home, no matter what he had to do, like I said gotta love that sire bond. When I told Lilly that we were going back to Mystic Falls for a party she smirked warning me that there better be alcohol.

Lilly is the only vampire I had ever met that isn't scared to threaten me no matter the consequences are, she was the same when we first met. Everybody fears me too much to even stay in the same room as me but Lilly's spent the whole summer and longer with me and she hasn't held back on anything. I mean she slapped me around the head when we we're back at the high school.

"Well, well, I must say Miss Salvatore you look amazing" I smirked at her as I looked her outfit over, she had a long sleeved, black, tight and short dress with a gold choker necklace and a pair of black and gold studded high heels, it was a simple outfit but on her it looked amazing, I don't think anyone else could pull it off to be honest.

"Very flattering Klaus" She chuckled rolling her eyes. "You know the rules Lilly, you don't-" I started but she cut me off with a roll of her eyes. "Yeah, yeah, I get it, I have to stay with you or you'll tell Stefan what I told you. I will do as you wish... Sir Klaus" She laughed making me glare at her. "Don't smart me Lilly" I warned her before walking out of the B&B room we were staying at. "Come on, time to go"

On the drive there I couldn't help but flick my eyes over to Lilly every now and again, I couldn't take my eyes off her she looked good, she does all the time. Pulling up to Tyler's I could hear the band and I could see all my hybrids plotted around, along with the rippah, Elena and her posse. "Stay in my sight at all times" I told Lilly before we both jumped out of the car heading to the back of the Lockwood's home, 2 of my hybrids joined us walking behind us like I asked them to so they could keep their eyes on Lilly I wasn't taking any risks since we're back in the town where Mikael is.

"Good evening everyone" I called as I walked onto the stage making everyone clap. "I want to thank you all for been her to celebrate... it's been a long time coming" I smirked as I spotted Stefan in the crowd.

As I walked off the stage I walked over to Lilly who was glaring at me with her hands on her hips. "Are these 2 really necessary?" She snapped as soon as I stood next to her, pointing to the 2 hybrids that were behind her. "It's for your own safety, trust me" I warned her. "Are you going to tell me what's going on?" She asked looking up at me, making me sigh knowing I should tell her.

"Mikael is apparently dead, so as a precaution you're been protected, no arguing" I told her making her look at me surprised. "I've told her about how Mikael's been chasing me for the last thousand years because he thinks I'm an abomination, she never gave me sympathy and honestly I didn't want it, I wasn't weak, but she did tell me she knew what it was like to have a dick as a father.

"Okay" She nodded understanding why this was so important to me, but I also saw the fear in her eyes making me sight, I knew why the fear was there but she didn't. "Come on love, I'm sure your brother wants to talk" I smirked wrapping my arm around her shoulder. We've become close allies as Lilly likes to call it, if only she knew.

"Quite the homecoming" Stefan told me looking around as me and Lilly stood next to him. "I've been planning my father's funeral for a thousand years, granted in no version of it was any of these people invited, but you get the idea" I spoke looking at him with a smirk on my face.

"So what now? Stop running?" He asked looking at me. "Hm, now I reunite my family" I told him flicking my eyes towards Lilly. "Your family, you mean the people you cart around in caskets?" He asked smugly crossing his arms over his chest.

"None of that matters anymore, Mikael is gone, bygones will be bygones" I shrugged him off just as my eyes landed on a girl who walked past us, the homecoming queen. "Seems the homecoming queen still walks among the living, which leads me to believe Bekah isn't here... where is she?" I asked looking back at Stefan giving him a deadly glare.

I knew something was wrong, she wouldn't miss the homecoming she loved the parties and attention. "I have no idea, I thought she was coming with Matt" Stefan shrugged. "Oh, be honest now Stefan, where is my sister?" I asked taking a step towards him. "I said I have no idea, now would you like me to take you to your father?" He asked changing the subject.

I knew he wanted me to go with him, it's all part of his plan but he was going to be sadly disappointed, I have my own plan. "Well it wouldn't be a party without the guest of honour, would it? Bring him to me" I told him. "All right, perhaps there's something in it for me, my freedom from your compulsion, and my sister back" He bargained making me chuckle.

"Oh, you want your freedom, well once Mikael is dead and his weapon destroyed you'll have your freedom, it'll be my pleasure to give it back" I told him not bothering to answer him about Lilly since once tonight's over with she wouldn't want to leave me.

Stefan didn't say anything else he just walked off, I turned to look at Lilly with a smile on my face. "You know he's still my brother Klaus, no matter what he's done to me, he will always be my little brother, don't do anything stupid" She told me before going to walk off. I quickly grabbed her by her wrist stopping her. "How about a dance?" I asked pulling her towards me. "One dance" She agreed making me smile.

As we danced I couldn't take my eyes off her, if Stefan & Co thought that I'd fall for their stupid plan they're beyond stupid. "Why do you always look at me like that?" She asked bringing me out of my thoughts. "Like what?" I asked playing it off but I knew what look I always gave her.

"Like I'm the only girl in the world" She spoke flickering her eyes over my face. "You'll get your answers soon" I told her as I pulled her closer to me as she rolled her eyes. "Again, avoiding the answer" She mumbled making me sigh as I rested my chin on the top of her head. "I promise Lilly, by the end of tonight you will know everything" I told her making her pull away from me a little so she could look me in the eyes.

"Okay, but answer me this, why do I feel safe with you like nothing in this world can kill me?" She asked and I knew she wanted an answer and I was going to give her one. "When I came to town to break the curse, that wasn't the first time we met Lilly" I confessed making her look at me surprised.

"What? When was it?" She asked confused, I sighed before a smile appeared on my lips as I remembered the day I met her. "August 21st 1866" She didn't say anything instead she just stared at me shocked, I knew I shouldn't have told her. "Come on" I grabbed her hand pulling her behind me as we walked over to Tyler who was stood at the steps that lead up to his house.

"My mum would seriously freak if she saw all these people here" Tyler spoke making me chuckle. "Your mother won't be a problem, I compelled her to go to church and pray for your friends" I smirked and Lilly chuckle. "What are you talking about?" Tyler asked looking at us both.

"I want you to look around... There's Bonnie, there's Elena and Matt and there's your girlfriend Caroline" I started as I pointed them all out. "The big dance was wrecked tonight and who came through with a party? You did, what a pal... but who are all these other people?" I asked smirked as I gestured to my hybrids that was taking up the garden along with his high school buddies.

"I actually have no idea, I've never seen these people in all of my life" Tyler laughed confused as he looked them over. "Well, that's because I invited a dozen friends of my own. That's my friend Mind, picked her up along the way in Kansas, did you know that there's an entire bloodline of werewolves in the heartland?" I smirked as I looked over at him as he realised what this all meant. "That's Tony from North Dakota and let's not forget the Seattle contingent"

"Wait all of these people are hybrids?" He asked shocked. "Yes, and they also love a good party, and they, like you, were sired by me, they wish to serve their master, so if anyone so much as makes a move against me they may feel obligated to retaliate... Feel free to warn your friends" I smirked before grabbing Lillys hand walking off to get us both a drink.

Walking around talking to my hybrids I spotted Elena who was in fact Katerina. "Come on" I mumbled as I pulled Lilly behind me. "Where's your date?" Lilly asked sending her a glare and I didn't know whether she knew that it was Katerina or not.

"Getting me a drink" She answered not taking her eyes off the band that was playing. "Well seems I have you to thank for Mikael's demise" I spoke up acting as if I had no clue that she was Katerina. "He came at me, I didn't have a choice" She stated making me smirk, silly Katerina thinking she can fool me, she should know by now that I'm always one step ahead of everyone.

"Still, I'm impressed, it's not easy for a human to dagger an original" I told her playing along with her stupid game. "It wasn't the first time" She spoke smugly making me chuckle. "Right, Elijah" I watched as she looked around. "You seem nervous"

"I'm not nervous, I just don't like you" She gave me a sarcastic smile. "Let's get straight to the point then shall we? People have been after me for a thousand years and I'm always one step ahead, so whatever it is you're thinking of trying, go for it, give it your best shot, you won't succeed" I told her before walking off with Lilly so she could go warn the others.

Once there was enough distance between me, Lilly and Katerina, Lilly stood up whispering in my ear. "You do realise that, that was Katherine and not Elena, don't you?" She asked making me chuckle. "Of course, I rarely get played for a fool love" I winked at her.

"Come, lets go play a game" I chuckled before pulling her into the house so we could play a game of beer ping with a couple of my hybrids, me and Lilly against them. She was pretty good at it as well, in fact she was a party animal.

"You have a visitor" Mindy spoke as she joined us at the beer pong table. "Well tell my visitor me and my friend are on the brink to victory here" I told her giving a wink to Lilly. "He said his names Mikael" She told me making me sigh, I guess the games over.

I threw the ping pong ball into a cup before turning to look at Mindy. "Then we mustn't keep him waiting, move everyone out back, I'm gonna have a little chat with my dad" I smirked at her before looking over at Tony. "You know what to do" I told him before grabbing Lilly's hand walking towards the main door so I could come face to face with the man who has ruined my life.

As we got to the front door the first thing I saw was Mikael stood at the doorway, unable to come through the invisible barrier. Once Lilly's eyes landed on hip I felt her stiffen as her hand tightened around mine.

"Hello Niklaus" He smirked at me before flicking his eyes towards Lilly. "Lilly Marie, I didn't think I would see you again" He chuckled making me glare at him as Lilly's eyes went wide before flicking them towards me. "Hello Mikael, why don't you come in? Oh that's right, I forgot you can't" I spoke making him look at me, I knew it was stupid but I didn't want him even looking at her, he's already done enough.

"Or you could come outside if you want" Mikael tilted his head. "Or I could watch my hybrids tear you limb from limb" I told him noticing a group of my hybrids gathering behind him. "They can't kill me Niklaus" Mikael pointed out making me shrug. "True, but it would be a hell of a party game, all I have to do is rub these 2 fingers together and they'll pounce" I smirked.

"The big bad wold, you haven't changed, still hiding behind your plaything like a coward. You only forget, they may be sired by you but they're still part vampire and they can be compelled by me" Mikael chuckled as Mindy appeared next to him pushing Katerina, who was still pretending to be Elena, next to him.

"Come out and face me Niklaus or she dies" Mikael warned holding a dagger against her back, Katerina started begging me but I just stared at him not even bothering to look at her, I wanted to laugh, did they really think that I'd fall for this? "Go on, kill her" I gritted out.

"If she dies these will be the last of your abominations, you even lost your own girl, Niklaus. Who else do you have? No one!" Mikael taunted flicking his eyes towards Lilly, I could feel tears in my eyes and I hated it, I wasn't weak, I'm Klaus Mikaelson, the Original hybrid and I am not weak!

"My whole life you've underestimated me Mikael, I'm no longer the little boy that was begging for your affection, if you kill her you lose your leverage, so go ahead kill her, come on old man, KILL HER!" I shouted making him laugh. "Your impulse Niklaus. It has and will forever be the one thing that keeps you from truly being great" He smirked before shoving the dagger into Katerina's back before letting her drop to the floor.

I stared at him shocked but I didn't have much time to think about it as I heard a vampire speed behind me making me quickly turn around letting go of Lillys hand just as Damon shoved the white oak stake through my stomach. "ARGH!" I cried as he flipped me onto the floor with the stake still in my stomach.

"DAMON STOP!" Lilly shouted just as he pulled the stake out ready to shove it through my heart but Stefan intervened and pushed him off me leaving me to lay on the floor gaining my breath bath as I healed, I looked at Lilly who was staring at me and I could tell she didn't know what to do, but I did, I was gonna end this tonight.

I looked around for the white oak stake ready to do what I've been wanting to do for over 1000 years but I couldn't find it. Lilly walked over to me handing me the white oak stake that she had in her hand. "Do what you need to do" She gave me a small smile as I took the stake out of her hand and rushed over to Mikael shoving the stake through his heart as we went flying through the air.

"ARGH!" He screamed as his body erupted into flames, I stood back and watched as he turned into ash. He was gone, he was finally out of my life for good, he took everything away from me. I walked back over to the door hearing Damon and Stefan argue but I ignored them as my eyes fixed onto Lilly, the woman that was taken away from me, the woman who meant so much to me.

She was stuck in a daze remembering everything and I hoped that she doesn't blame me like I have done for all these years, I should've protected her better. She blinked a couple of times coming out of her trance before she rushed over to me. "Nik!" She cried jumping on me wrapping her arms and legs around me.

I squeezed her happy that she was back where she belonged, in my arms. "Shh, it's alright love, he's gone, I've got you" I tried to calm her as she sobbed into my neck. God I've missed feeling her in my arms.

"N-Nik he, he-" She stuttered but was cut off by Damon and Stefan arguing. "What the hell did you do?!" Damon snapped glaring at Stefan before looking over to me and Lilly. "And you! You spend a summer with the hybrid dickhead and now you're all loved up!" He glared pointing towards Lilly who instead of answering him held onto me tighter.

I sent a glare towards Damon before he rushed away, probably thinking I was gonna kill him, which isn't a bad idea, if it wasn't for him being Lilly's brother I would, I knew if anyone was to kill them it was to be her.

I walked over to Stefan will Lilly still in my arms with her legs and arms wrapped around me. "Thank you my friend, you no longer have to do as I say, you're free" I compelled him before I sped away leaving him there alone.

I was going to spend the night trying to calm Lilly down so I can find out exactly what happened in 1919, what Mikael did to her.
