"My heart races when i see you. Or even hear you

Every. single. time."

___

"Jaimieeee."

She snapped awake when she felt someone shaking her shoulder. She slowly looked around and noticed she was in a classroom.

"Jaimie-mae did you get any sleep last night?" Kacey asked as she looked down at her with a raised eyebrow.

Jaimie-mae's mind wandered back to last night and she felt a blush rise up on her cheeks. She loved how gentle Fabian was with her. He made her feel good that was for sure.

"Come on it's time for lunch," Kacey said as she picked up Jaimie-mae's backpack and passed it to her.

Both of them exited the classroom and made their way to their outside table. The spring air was comfortable and fresh. It was a nice day to sit outside.

As they neared the bench, Jaimie-mae immediately noticed Kano and Arabella making out intensely. Kacey cleared her throat obnoxiously as she sat down which made them pull away.

"I see you took my advice," Jaimie-mae said as she smirked at Kano.

"Yes I did. Maybe you should start giving more advice tiny," Kano replied. He started calling Jaimie-mae tiny after a while because they were at that point where they could use nicknames.

"It's nice to see you haven't forgotten us," Bella said with a raised eyebrow.

"Don't listen to her. She's just jealous your boyfriend got you a puppy and hers didn't."

"She doesn't deserve one after acting like that," Kano joked.

Bella glared at him and crossed her arms, sitting back in her seat.

"You guys ready for exams next week?" Kacey asked as she took a sandwich from her bag and unwrapped it.

"Oh my gosh! Exams are next week?" Jaimie-mae shouted.

"Yeah. Where have you been?" Bella asked. "Oh that's right, not here."

Jaimie-mae just brushed off the comment with a laugh knowing Bella was in one of her moods. "I need to start studying."

Fabian was missing Jaimie-mae and Fae. He hadn't seen her for a whole two weeks because she had been hardcore studying for her exams and then taking them and he had been working at the mechanics.

He was good at fixing up cars, something that not even his parents knew about.

He got paid good money and saved most of it, never using it unless he wanted to get something for one of his friends or Mason. Now that he had Jaimie-mae he always wanted to get things for her. He wanted to spoil her but she wouldn't let him. At least not with material things.

She always told him that his attention and company was spoiling her enough. She said that the fact that he made her happy and feel herself again was more than she could have ever asked for.

Before, he had been using his talent on illegal street racing cars but he soon realized that he could use his skills for something much better. He could do something so much better with his life.

That day that Jaimie-mae had gotten into a fight with Flora, he had been at 'Jims Auto and Repair Shop' getting interviewed. After he had finished, he was covered in dirt and oil and had gone home to shower. When he had just hopped out of the shower Malakai had called and said 'i think i saw your girl and Flora on the sidewalk about to beat each other into ground. You better get here quick.'

The day after, Jim had called him and said he had the job. He was so excited but he for some reason he decided to keep this part of him a secret.

Fabian sighed as he finished replacing the wind shield of a car. He was beginning to miss his girlfriends voice.

He sat down and chugged back some water but was quickly interrupted when his phone buzzed in his pocket.

Like an angel, Jaimie-mae had called.

A smile spread across his face as he pressed the answer button.

"Hey Jaimie-baby."

"Fabiannnn," she squealed through her phone .

"Hi. Someone's having a good day today," he said with a laugh.

"I am," she said immediately.

He could imagine the bright smile on her face just from the sound of her voice. The thought made him smile.

"What's up?"

"You'll never guess," she said quickly.

"Okay then. Tell me."

"No wait wait. Guess, come on guess."

He groaned. "Oh come on. The anticipations killing me."

"I got my license!!" She shouted through the phone.

Fabian winced and pulled the phone away from his ear for a second before placing it back.

"I'm so proud of you Jaimie," he said with a smile.

"Thank you. Oh and i just finished my last test today as well so we can do something later on... if you want."

He grinned and leaned back. "Yeah, of course."

"Great." There was a ruffling in the background and then a bark. "Fae says hi."

Fabian chuckled. "Hi Fae," he said sarcastically.

A sassy bark came back through the phone and he and Jaimie-mae burst out into laughter.

"My mom loves Fae. She literally kidnapped my dog and kept her for a day. She said she wanted to have Fae keep her company while she ran errands."

"Sounds like your mom."

"Yeah," she said with a small laugh. "Um... Fabian. Can i ask you something?"

"Yeah, anything."

"I know this is weird but would you like to... go on a date... with me."

Fabian sat there stunned to silence. He was not expecting those words to come out of mouth.

"Um, yeah. Sure. Not that i'm not all for equality of gender roles and all that, but aren't i supposed to ask you that."

Fabian was slightly dissapointed that he didn't get to ask that question first. He wanted to be the one to take her out some place nice.

"I mean i guess. Y-you could... um not say yes and ask me instead... if that's what you want. I just tho-"

"Yes Jaimie. I'll go on a date with you," he said with a chuckle.

"Wait really?" she squealed.

"Yes, really."

She gave a sigh of relief. "This is so cool," she said more to herself. "So it's not gonna be like a normal dinner date thing because honestly i'm not into the whole dressing up to go and eat over-priced portions on a plate. So tomorrow, i'm gonna pick you up, in my mom's car and we are gonna do something cool."

Fabian made a mental note that Jaimie-mae wasn't a big fan of going out to eat.

"Alright cool. What time?"

"Umm... keep your phone on and i'll text you when you should come out of your house."

Fabian began to get excited for what his girlfriend had planned. He could hardly remember a time where he had been this excited for something in a while and he loved that he was getting that chance with Jaimie-mae.

"Okay. I can't wait."

"Me either. Love you Fabian. See ya tomorrow."

"Love you too, bye."

There was one more squeal of excitement and then a bark before the line went dead.

Fabian took the phone from his ear and laughed quietly to himself.

This was one of the reasons why he loved her.
