"Jaimie-mae, she's just got this- this thing to her. I dunno, i don't know how to describe her. I guess she's just... beautiful. In so many ways."

Fabian watched subtly as Jaimie-mae lifted the food to her mouth across from him. It looked like she was struggling to physically get anymore food down. He realized she had a small appetite but she didn't want to make it seem like she didn't like the food or that she was wasting it.

She was too sweet for her own good.

Everyone was almost done their food and she was barely halfway through. He chuckled when he caught her not paying attention and she missed her mouth and the fork hit the side of her cheek.

Her face burned with scarlet color as she looked down at her lap and wiped her face with a paper towel.

When all of the Sharp's had eaten their food, Justin cleared his throat which made Jaimie-mae flinch in her seat a bit.

"Do you not like rice sweetie?" Madison asked carefully. Fabian could tell his mom was worried Jaimie-mae didn't like her cooking.

"No. This taste really good. I just don't have the... biggest appetite."

Madison nodded in understanding. "Okay. That's fine. Just eat what you can."

Jaimie-mae let out a subtle breath of relief and Fabian had to hold back a smirk. He knew he was right.

"How old are you Jaimie-mae?" Justin asked as he wiped the corners of his mouth.

"Im seventeen."

Justin immediately looked at Fabian and glared at him.

"What?" Fabian asked with an innocent shrug.

"She's too young," Justin hissed.

Fabian noticed Jaimie-mae move around uncomfortably in her seat.

"What do you like to do Jaimie-mae?" Madison asked in an attempt to change the subject.

"Ugh... like school wise or for fun?"

"Either one."

"My favorite subject is art. And i do a lot of sketching and stuff in my free time."

"That's good. Both of my boys like to draw."

Jaimie-mae's eyes immediately drifted to the framed, detailed sketches on the fridge and wall. "Is that their drawings?"

"Yup," Mason cut in proudly.

"They are really good," Jaimie-mae complimented.

Immediately, both Mason and Fabian beamed over at Jaimie-mae. She chuckled lightly as she took a sip of her water.

"How is school going for you?" Madison asked.

"Its good. All A's and B's."

"That's great. What school do you go?"

Fabian began to get worried that this would lead to something like what he had done in the hospital. He did not want to see that happen again.

"Hey, mom. Can Mason and me take Jaimie-mae upstairs."

"Why? We were aski-"

"Yeah, please mom. She can draw with us!" Mason said excitedly as he got up from his chair.

Fabian mentally praised Mason for joining in on the argument. It just made winning a whole lot easier. His parents always had trouble saying no to Mason.

Madison huffed. "Yeah go ahead. Keep the door opened please."

Fabian rolled his eyes. Why would his mom even say something like that. He'd never do anything like that with Jaimie-mae. He was going to college next school year. With college girls.

Sure he flirted with Jaimie-mae, but it was playful and meant nothing. Even if it did mean something to him, it probably meant nothing to Jaimie-mae. She probably had a boy she liked at school.

He didn't go to college this year because he wanted one year away from books and teachers. He travelled and had fun. And got into a bit of trouble. Next year he was going to be fully focused on school. This year was for relaxing.

"Come on Jaimie-mae," Fabian said as he got up from his seat.

"Thanks for the dinner. It was really good," Jaimie-mae said before she walked out of the dining room.

When they got up the stairs, Fabian led them to his bedroom and pushed opened the door.

Jaimie-mae cautiously peaked inside and Fabian chuckled at her when only half her body made it into his room. She scanned the steely gray walls and the bed that was significantly bigger than hers. It had a puffy gray comforter on it along with some bright colored pillows to light up the room. The room was quite bright because of the large bay window at the side that had natural sunlight shining through it.

"Come on. You can sit on my bed," Fabian said with a cheeky smile.

Jaimie-mae stepped into the big bedroom hesitantly and sat down on the bed. She immediately brushed her hands over the cool material of his comforter and held a piece of it in her hands. Fabian watched her curiously from beside his desk as her eyes scanned everything slowly. She then went back to holding the edge of the comforter in her hand gently.

Fabian continued to watch as she played with the material in her hands. He was slightly confused but also amused by how entranced she seemed to be by it.

"Do you like it?"

Jaimie-mae's head snapped up to look at Fabian. "Huh? Sorry."

"Do you like the comforter?"

"Yeah. It feels nice," she said quietly, still clutching the fabric in her hands.

Fabian chuckled to himself and made a mental note that his super cool comforter seemed to actually somewhat calm her nerves.

Mason soon ran into the room with a huge pencil case and some paper.

"I got the art stuff!"

He spread all of the materials out on the floor and Jaimie-mae easily slipped down off of the bed and onto the floor beside Mason.

As Mason began to share out the materials, Fabian watched Jaimie-mae curiously. He watched her scan the art things, try to find a comfortable way to sit, thank Mason a few times and hold a few pencils in her hand.

Everything she did seemed so graceful and gentle and he found himself easily distracted by her voice and her actions. She was just so... well there wasn't anyway to describe her. Not in Fabian's mind anyway.

"Hey bro. Fabian. Can you hear me?"

Fabian soon realized he had zoned out and he quickly acknowledged his brother. "Yeah, sorry. I was thinking."

"Did you want to draw?" Mason asked as he held up a paper.

"Yeah um..."

Jaimie-mae quickly sat up. "You can sit at your desk, i'll bring you a paper and pencil. Because of your cast."

Fabian looked at her strangely but nodded anyway. "Thanks."

She brought him the materials and then went back to her spot on the floor beside Mason. Fabian was actually beginning to feel a little left out even though they were all in the same room.

He watched as Mason narrated what he was doing and how Jaimie-mae didn't just nod and uh-huh through it. She actually smiled and laughed and complimented what he said. She didn't treat him like he was eleven years younger like all of the other girls that he was friends with.

All the other girls eventually ignored him or carried a bored tone. Jaimie-mae didn't do that.

Fabian tried sketching, but his gaze always drifted back towards her. Just her now.

Eventually, Jaimie-mae must have felt his gaze on her because she slowly lifted her head from her paper and gave Fabian a timid smile.

Fabian couldn't tell what made her do it, maybe it was his face that gave it away. She got up, picked up her stuff and then slid back down right next to Fabian's chair. She lay on her stomach and sketched quietly beside him.

Fabian grinned to himself than got back to sketching. His pencil moved effortlessly over the paper.

He had a new inspiration for his drawing now.
