The break flew by in an instant. As I headed to school with a sulky expression, a familiar back of the head came into view.
âHey. Whereâs your girlfriend? Why are you alone?â
I quickened my steps and tapped Lee Do-Yoonâs shoulder with my finger.
It was rare to meet him right at the school gate, and even stranger not to see his girlfriend, Baek Yoo-Seol.
Was the sun going to rise in the west tomorrow? Why did this new semester already feel ominous?
âHuh? Oh. Ha-Eun. Seolâs off doing volunteer work today. She said sheâd probably be back in the afternoon.â
ââ¦Sheâs doing volunteer work?â
âHaha. Why is everyone around me so surprised by that?â
No, seriously, think about it. Knowing Baek Yoo-Seolâs personality, sheâs not exactly the type to help anyone other than Lee Do-Yoon.
Did she mature a bit after growing older?
âI could do volunteer work, too.â
âYou? Volunteer work?â
Lee Do-Yoon looked at me like Iâd grown an extra head.
He didnât question Baek Yoo-Seol, but when it was me?
Staring at him incredulously, he awkwardly averted his gaze with a sheepish laugh.
âIâve done donation volunteer work a lot, okay?â
âOh, fair enough.â@@novelbin@@
