"Good news."
"Ohâ¦"
"How does it look? Do you think thereâs some improvement?"
At the doctorâs words, I nodded. It had been a while since I returned to Korea.
While my family was still in China, I was back hereâfor my regular check-up.
The state of my body, which I hadnât been able to monitor while in China, had improved more than I expected.
âMaybe the recent sickness was just a step back to move two steps forward?â
Encouraged by the positive results, I nodded to myself. Seeing my reaction, the doctor smiled with satisfaction.
"Are you heading back now?"
"Yes, I have work left to do."
"Ah, I see. Well, hang in there."@@novelbin@@
By now, the doctor didnât treat me any differently, despite my name being somewhat known. Perhaps it was because heâd been seeing me for a long time.
It was comforting in a way, though it also left me feeling slightly disappointed. I mean, Iâve even been on the news, you know.
âAh, do I really have to get on another plane?â
As soon as I left the hospital, this entirely pointless thought came to mind.

With [Phoenix] nearing completion as well, winter was already in sight.
