Someone said,
"Hmph. Rather than that crazy woman, I can manageâno, use it better."
To which the crazy woman responded,
"Shut up, you black bastard."
Uh⦠hmm. The way they bicker makes them look like friends. Must just be my imagination.
The black guyâwait, no, someoneâgot worked up at the crazy womanâs insult.@@novelbin@@
"......"
But he only got flustered. He couldnât even open his mouth to respond. Well, I mean, his skin is black.
This exchange had been going on for over three hours now. My master, the chairman who had just entered, and I were all watching the spectacle unfold with great interest.
"Chairman, did you happen to bring popcorn?" I asked.
"Do you think the title 'chairman' belongs to the neighbor's dog?"
Unfortunately, the chairman didnât bring popcorn. Instead, he offered something else.
"Would you like one of these?"
He pulled two calorie bars from his pocket and handed one to my master and one to me.
"Been working out lately?" I asked.
"I signed up for a gym recently."
Ah, I see. His wiry frame does have that âlean muscleâ look.
But really, why is the chairman here?
Noticing my inquisitive gaze, the chairman hesitated briefly before speaking.
"Iâm the one who organized this meeting. And as the head of a school, itâs my responsibility to protect my teacher."
Ah, so he had his reasons. Unexpectedly admirable words, really. Though, to be honest, my mouth felt a bit dry and gritty. Mustâve been the calorie bar.
âChocolateâs not my favorite, but⦠well, this isnât bad.â
