When the sweet gentle whispers were no longer caressing my ears, no longer making my body feel like floating in the water, my eyes that saw the shimmering dazzling place were filled with lights, suddenly opened enough to hear these shouts.
The scream that made me bring back the insides of my soul, where I was screaming at the abyss that I've created with my mind.
Then only can I see my hands which were previously calm were now shaking, but the sound of someone breathing and coughing at the same time echoed within the four walls, I saw Jer's eyes wide open making me see my reflection.
"Jer, how did youââ"
I heard him sigh cutting me off with his hands raised in the air, and I narrowed my gaze for a second before finally widening them only to know what Jer was about to say next.
"I guess those two that we've encountered they did this to me, they made me inhale a mist, that would cause me to deepen my slumber..." he paused but right now he wasn't even lying on the ground and sitting there, he was already standing walking to the walls.
When I followed his silhouette, with his dancing shadows from the flickering of the candle's flames, my eyes started going to the place where I touched that emerald jewel only to find that there were none at all.
"Weird, what was thatââ"
"And I presume that you weren't the responsible one in lifting this magic"
"How did you know?" I asked and I looked back at his figure, I could see he was touching some of the walls and managed to narrow his gaze back at me but with a wider smirk from the edges of his lips.
"Because you weren't in my Master's level, Lady Vestia and I just know it..." As he said those words, I clenched my hands and as I was about to rebut his words, he swung his deathrock and in that scenario, the place wavered but none of the walls nor even the seal was broken.
"As I see..." my eyes widened when I placed my aura within my eyes and that's when I finally figured out why I couldn't seem to find the exit and it's because we were in some ball of illusion.
I tried to remember what that sweet whisper told me and when I blinked my eyes, an emerald jewel dropped from the pocket of my coat.
As I tried to pick it up, it never shone but I heard a sudden sound as if someone was constructing something within the place and I could even feel Jer's vision lingering in my place.
After a few seconds, of listening to the sound and making my senses overpower the place, I could eventually see how a small table was formed right in front of me and when Jer looked at it I could feel how his eyes widened.
He immediately took the emerald jewel from my hand and put it on the table only for the place to finally fade. I nearly gasped when I felt as if the warmth from the candle was overflowing only to let me see the entire place where we truly were.
"What in the world is thisââ"
"I know that's why I guess you should know this first," Jer said calmly as if he had been in this place before.
I looked at him and I couldn't even know what expression I was making, but even at that moment, I couldn't even see my reflection from his eyes.
"We were in this lost city from the Belfore East, just the boundary from the Silvian Estate. If you knew this I guess Master Oratio trusted you but if he hadn't told you about this then I guess he doesn't trust that you'll be able to find this place sooner..."
I felt like my throat became dry because the moment that I wanted to ask him, a gushing wind came from us and I felt Jer's hands from within my shoulders and eventually, he snapped his fingers and led us into this narrow and dark tunnel.
To describe the place, it was all white, and in front of me earlier, there were white bridges, and the building was quite constructed with proportion.
There was not even one building that was large or even small. Everything was as if they were the same size.
The bridge was curved and in the middle of the place, there was a square symbol and in that middle, there was that large bridge that I could see.
This place was a very different place from where I was born, from the Western place, from the Mezor empire, as if this place was advanced from everything, and before I got to explore my thoughts even more, I heard Jer whispering something to me.
"Be careful Lady Vestia, because this place, could get us trapped"
"Trapped?" I heard him sigh to my question and when I looked into his eyes, I saw my dull reflection.
His eyes weren't shining anymore, and then a sudden memory of him saying that this world was cruel came flashing through my mind and I even felt like I was already flinching from his sudden tight grip.
"Jer, your grip, they are tight I'm hurting...."
"S-Sorry, Lady Vestia..." he said and immediately moved away from me as if his hands got burned he put them in the air but his eyes looked elsewhere and even though I could see the shine from his figure, there was no light from his eyes.
It remained as if the flames of yesterday had faded.
"As I see, Master Oratio didn't tell you..." when I recalled Oratio's last words before I came here with Jer, it was everything about the blue rose of the Clamorians, the one last descendant of the friend he had, but couldn't be able to save forever.
And there was not even a mention of this place.
"What if that was the case?"
"Then Master never expected that you would be able to meet with the Goddess..."
"Goddess?" Wait, is he talking about that warm voice earlier? But then I was the only one who heard that because when I blinked my eyes, I was already back to the place with Jer suddenly waking up.
I could see Jer was about to open his mouth but with the sudden light trampling all over the place, I felt like he widened his eyes and before I knew everything, I felt him grabbing me as he ran to a place, narrower than the tunnel.
"I guess you will never know if I wouldn't be able to tell you," he said as I could feel his warm breath.
"Tell me what?" I asked
"This place never existed on the map"
"Then how did we ever go here in the first place?"
"It's because of that seal, that we were saved from the seal that I've acquired from the land the moment that we battled with the beast monsters..." he paused and I backed a bit since I felt like I needed to take a breath.
I heard him sigh once more before finally looking at me
"This is where Master Oratio had been born and this was where the Goddess of the Ylvani, resides, and the ones that govern the place were the souls that had been tormented from the experiments of those beings"
"Wait, wait, I felt like I'm lost, let me ask you once more..." I asked and he looked at me with a narrowed gaze.
"If this was the place that Oratio had been born wasn't he a god then? Because you said that this is where the Goddess resides..."
"Do you even know why I pulled you to hide in the first place, Lady Vestia?"
"Is it appropriate to answer a question with another question?"
But this time he wasn't sighing anymore
"I didn't tell you this but even if this was the place that Master Oratio had been born, it doesn't mean that he's a god, and even if I told you that this was the place that the Goddess resides, this is already the haven of the gods and goddesses"
"Then what is this? Where are we at?"
"This should be the last place we should be at, after having to save the slaves from the Belfore East, but it turns out that we came earlier than expected, I also never thought that even though the Goddess had been weakened by these souls, she still managed to help us"
"How do you even know it's the Goddess that helped us?"
Jer wasn't able to say a word, but he was already starting to unbutton and when I wanted to close my eyes, they widened instead about finding this mark from his throat throbbing endlessly with green light
"Because of this"
"What happened?" I asked but I never stepped closer to him still keeping my distance...
"Master Oratio found me in that place, for the longest time, and managed to save me with the help of the Goddess, but since she was captured, all she did was put a figment of her magic to me and whenever this throb, it means that we're already near her and we must save her, we must free her, Lady Vestia..."
"What is the reason why she's caged?"
"Don't you know? The reason why these people begin to experiment in the first place?"
"What do you mean?"
"It's not only about creating mighty creatures that led them to their loss of memories from having magic within them but it's because...."
