Like a sweet kiss of the honey's bathed sight, without fail, the rays couldn't help but descend on my reflection before I could land mine to the young man's mighty orb full of questioning eyes.

As I tried to narrow mine, he followed after but without batting an eye, after a long second that passed, I could hear him sigh adjusting some of the buttons in his suit, while trying to grit his teeth.

The hands that touched his vest earlier, went to destroy one button and there, he began to shout enough to pull some of his hair as his teeth remained gritted afterward.

I shook my head and sighed as I went to where Jer was, and when I managed to land my sight to where the button was, I picked them up and immediately tailored his suit with my magic but all he did was avert my gaze.

Yet, I could feel his breathing, it was slow enough to make me feel like he had already unclenched his hands from earlier.

"Lady Vestia, are you sure with this?" He asked, as soon as I was finished fixing his suit, I immediately took steps backward enough to tie my hands on my back while leaning in closer with a smile on my face.

I just adjusted my sight to him since the sun captivated my vision for a moment, but that doesn't mean that he should be the one who's in this kind of situation.

Not when we will act like a guest within the Vellitas household.

"We only have a few days left and we would be bound to come to the Belfore East in no time, but to have you think of this is a ridiculous idea, Lady Vestia——"

Before he could finish his words, I put my gloved pointing finger to his mouth and yet, I could still feel how thin and smooth they were.

From there, I felt as if I couldn't help but exude some air from within my body.

"But you agreed, to it, Jer so there's no turning back anymore, remember that"

I said without even waiting for his response as I could only hear him groan while I could even put into mind the way he hands his face and squeezes them while leaning to the floor as if he had some weight from his back that's been taking him forever to move.

Well, who wouldn't when this is too big of a deal for him...

Shaking my head, as my hands touched the rough and yet cold stool of my window, the wind immediately caressed my hair as I closed my eyes when the sun kissed my face again.

This time, I felt as if I was more alive than ever.

"Don't you think the sun was too bright today, Jer?"

Just as my feet ascended from my household's floor, they went to rest on the wooden carriage enough to bring the weight I had from my chest to where it landed because right now, I had to become someone else again.

Not Lady Agnes, or Lady Festin...

"You should have come up with a better idea than this, Lady Vestia"

"Oh, but then, it wasn't my entire fault if we failed since you were also one of my accomplices"

"What does that even have to mean, Lady Vestia?" When I gazed at where he was, I could see his eyebrows knitting accompanied with his eyes narrowing.

Then soft chuckles escaped my mouth just like I saw my reflection having my shoulders bounced.

"You're indeed funny, Jer"

"Lady Vestia, first and foremost, I'm not here to make you laugh, and second of all——"

"I know, we needed to prepare but for this day, let's just set our feet in that household"

"Why? Why are you so eager to? You could have just visited with your original appearance, there, you don't have to deceive anyone within your household even your own horseman, Lady Vestia," his voice sounded sincere but I could tell how wavy it was from the start.

I didn't even realize that the corners of my lips were already rising, not when I looked to where the carriage's window was, and as bright as it made me gaze, it was also dimmed to not notice how my lips curled.

"But as you said, Jer, the world wasn't kind it was cruel from the start"

"Then what would you gain from doing this?"

"Don't you remember Anna, about the letter you read earlier?" Then I saw his eyes widened

"I see," Were his words before flattening his lips and instead averting his gaze from mine to look where the shining golden orb was.

But his hands remained fiddling with each other especially with his thumb because the moment that he had heard Anna, that must have been the start where I could see his lips remained thin.

"Say, what did you think of Anna based on that letter?" I asked as I looked around since the surrounding was still fresh from my mind and it was still far from where we would descend our feet.

"What do I think about her?"

"It's like you're repeating every word I'm saying now, Jer"

"Well, I'm just surprised to know that you're curious about what I think about her"

"Is that wrong to begin with?" I asked but I only heard some breezes passing within our carriage, I looked in front of me to see how he was looking at the other side but then his hand was on the back of his mouth with his back covering his face.

But then, I felt as if there was a tint of redness coming from his ears or did I just mistaken to see them because when I blinked, the carriage seemed to be bound and I held on to the corner while he immediately snapped.

From there, I could see some bright light a circle one with some seals around, enlarging until they contracted and moved in the opposite direction and began to disappear.

As I landed my gaze on where Jer was, the light descended on the tip of his pointing finger with his mouth leaning in only to blow some air from it enough to see some fog creating from the direction that he had managed to blow.

"In case, we have some unforeseen company ahead, Lady Vestia..."

But after a few minutes of silence, I never heard any words from his mouth regarding Anna.

"You should have thought of the consequences ahead, Lady Vestia, because right now, I think we weren't alone and perhaps, sooner or later, we will have some companies"

"And I think we're prepared to teach them a lesson, as you might have been forgetting something..." The moment I said those words, I sprinkled some light from above my face enough to pull on the most whistle of all time, and the surroundings halted and when I looked back, I could see that the trees, the land the carriage disappeared, and only that everything seemed to be white.

That's when I saw these shadows, they were everywhere and nearly 30 of them had halted as if they were statues from the wars that have been gone through history.

They have some daggers in their hands.

I took a few more steps and touched those, indeed, they were very sharp. One step, I was on the other one, then I took my second step until I had my 30th step, and there, I could see how their daggers disappeared.

A few chuckles escaped my mouth enough to snap everything back and from that moment, Jer was about to say something when I had already chuckled

"Is there anything funny to my face, Lady Vestia?"

"I think what you'll hear afterward will be the funniest of them all"

"What—"

However, before he could even finish his words, it was already enough for me to chuckle once more before Jack, as well as Jer could halt because right behind us we just heard something as if there had been a collision.

Then mighty sands from behind swayed and nearly went to where our carriage was if it wasn't for Jer's blown whispers earlier

"My magid didn't tell me they did the deed, Lady—oh, no don't tell me..."

"Yes, as you might have guessed it right, Jer, I just have to do what I have to do"

"You used your power and I didn't even sense it?"

"Well, I guess being in the Secron level was enough to be powerful for you but not enough for me, Jer"

"You're insane, Lady Vestia"

"Even if I say you have to call me by my name you would rather prefer me to have that Lady so you're the insane one, Jer," he chuckled as if he had forgotten his words when he opened his mouth earlier.

"It's just the way I was built, you have to know that, Lady Vestia"

Just as soon as he halted from laughing, was the time I could see his soul descending on mine.

"Then what did you think about those being following us?"

I narrowed my eyes and leaned in closer to him.

"If you know what I know then I guess they weren't like us, but they weren't also humans. I think they were——"

"Those experimented beings... The ones where Key would always mention, the ones that had never survived to be humans"

"I have read this to the document that Key managed to pass it to me"

"I know it too well, because how could I ever forget about that day when my world began to burn to ashes"

"I knew it, it was called the homunculus, isn't it right, Jer?"

But I shouldn't have said those words if I knew that I would see a different side of him, a chilling side as if I was back in that place.

Darkness called the abyss

"So you were Countess Felicity, it was such nice to meet you," a deep voice that stayed stagnant even when it was bright, was enough to claim my soul again

"It was also nice to finally be able to meet you, Duke Hellian Vellitas"

"Oh, you still remembered my old name but I guess I would use it for now, since it was the duchess' who said it. So are you prepared to see the garden that I've been talking about in the past as well?"

Who wouldn't when you're the very best friend of a Countess had been ill and comatose but here she was facing you with a little sprinkle I'd created

"Are you talking about the Tree of life in your garden?" then I heard such a burst of kind laughter, a very different one from where I used to see him with Belfus.

"Indeed, and it was such fine weather when you came all the way here, right Countess? Oh, and by the way, is this the Count? Count Hervin?"
