His stares were cold as ice from looking around, and yet, it was enough warm to descend on mine, and his dull eyes that I seem to be full of mists were now shining like the embedded jewels from above.

Until he parted those crimson lips he had, my eyes were focused on his soul as I could see my reflection in them, widened when we heard something falling to the ground.

Lexus immediately came in front of me with his hand to cover my body and his other to touch his sword, and when he narrowed his eyes I knew he was already doing what Oratio told us.

It was putting both of our auras within our eyes to see what the naked eyes couldn't and we saw something but it was indeed something else.

"I guess it was only a rat," I sighed after speaking of those words but then Lexus never returned from his previous position and stayed in front of mine.

"Lexus?"

"I know Vestia but I feel as if someone was watching our every move, and he must also be a sage, like Hellier..."

"How did you----"

"I have already passed another level yesterday and it was all because of Oratio's nagging. That old man seemed to be stricter to me than you..."

I pouted but then I was glad he did it.

"Then just wait for me as well," I said while patting his back and that's when he finally sighed.

"That meddlesome individual had already disappeared, so now, what do you want to ask me again?" Lexus said while facing me, but his hand already moved to curl some of my locks.

Even after leaving the clinic, I was still in my disguise, but we were still in our cloaked form.

I sighed

"You've been alert all the time but I suggest you also give yourself enough rest, don't you think?" When I said those I could see that he averted my eyes and looked elsewhere then wiped the back of his neck.

"I will as you said it"

"All right so as I was asking, if there were----"

"Other creatures other than magic users? Is that it?" Lexus said and I nodded

"Yes, as you've said."

"I was on the verge of searching that as well because you know, just as people never knew of magic users, some also never knew of the people who were like other creatures..."

"We might never know that someone beyond our grasps will make us feel as if we're being manipulated and even Oratio wouldn't be able to sense that if that happens"

"What do you mean by that Lexus?"

"..." a moment of silence evaded the surroundings and when I looked at him I knew for a moment that he had already closed his mouth.

"Lexus?"

"Don't mind me Vestia, I guess it was just some overthinking of mine. Besides, if I gained some of the evidence that pertains to those things then I would immediately give them to you,"

I knew I could count on Lexus, but I think as if he wasn't telling me enough of what I wanted to know, but I knew that was for now because as if he said, he still needed some of the evidence to let me see through.

"Just one thing, Lexus. Never lose our promise, all right?"

I also wanted to ask him about a certain scenario where in that South Lake, there was an incident that happened before I met him and before I bid farewell to my friends, and yet the very next day, there was none as if everything I have ever imagined were just some forms of nightmares.

But my mouth that wanted to ask those questions remained intact as I couldn't even get anything out of him because right now, I knew that he was already becoming someone I couldn't reach and it was frightening me to the point that one day, he would also leave me behind like the others did.

But it's also me who's making those things, I was the one who's making those decisions even if I wanted to stay in that nostalgic place but then I guess reality would always hit my eyes before staying in that wishful meadow.

For now, no one knows who the real enemy is, and we just have to silently lurk within the darkness to find them ourselves.

"Then I guess I have no choice," Key said making me blink a few times before finally looking at him. He was sitting across from me I could see his reflection in the window beside us.

When the cloak of the night resides within the sky and the jewels begin to shine again, the flames of the candle dance through the room, and our silhouettes start doing the same things.

As he was already holding the dark envelope and the stamp that I'd gotten from Gludius, it seemed that he wasn't familiar with the stamp other than the dark envelope.

"You see, I knew that this one contained the information within the Hildigger empire, but this seal was something else..." he said while looking around from it.

I could also look at how the stamp resembles something familiar to my sight.

"Wait, Key I think that stamp reminds me of a king in a chess board..."

"A king in a chessboard?" He repeated my words and yet when I looked into his eyes they widened and immediately like a puzzled mind gaining the right answers, he looked at the bottom of the stamp and saw something then he put some of his aura within the stamp and it lit.

The light carried the stamp and placed it on the lower right corner of the dark envelope and there the seal was lifted and the papers from the dark envelope floated within the air as they were all within Key's hands.

Then I didn't hesitate to walk through where Key was and read what the papers contained but then just like in the past, it was written in some ancient language, but it was never like the Asserians.

It felt like it was from the languages of the Hildigger empire.

"When the full moon of the five-year strike happened, it would be the time to compensate what was lost in the foreign times of recoupment," Key started and I could only listen from him

"The beginning of the autumn but the start of the coldness within the glacier's view will the rise of the sun and the trumpets of the past would continue the sounds they've stopped," I looked at the papers but then I couldn't understand anything of it, and Key only knew how to read those.

"When the youngest king was born, he would be to rule over the foreign lands and even concur it at the right time, but he must be beware that a silver eye from a bewitching lady could trample all his plans"

"It was said that no one would have the same victory as the man could, but he must avoid any ladies, for it might be the cause to cease the sun's continuous rise"

"There, he must have the fight and wisdom for the right time, the land of the Hills will rise again ..."

I stood still from the papers, it wasn't as if it was a piece of complete information from the plans of the Hildigger empire but it was as if...

"A prophecy?" both of us asked and yet our eyes that were previously on the paper were now on each other. But then as if the papers had a mind of their own, they immediately went back to the dark envelope and got sealed again.

But the stamp had already been fading from the moment we set our eyes on it.

"I guess we have to ask the old man for another stamp should we?" These were the words that Key had to say before we sighed once more.

"So what was your interpretation of the Key?" I asked but his eyes only narrowed when he looked at mine enough to know that they widened for a second then his eyebrows started knitting.

Then he sighed and shook his head once more after knowing that he must have thought something wrong once more.

I continued to narrow mine until I heard him say something that widened my eyes once more.

"It was a prophecy, about the new emperor of the Hildigger empire, and it would be a young man. It is said that the young man will lead the rebellion and he would succeed in conquering our empire by the span of five years..."

"How and why----"

"But then, didn't you read? The young man must have been kept away from any ladies especially those who had silver eyes"

"Don't you mean to say----"

"If what you're thinking is the same as I was then yes, since you and your lineage were the only ones who had that silver eyes, right Lady Vestia?"

"But why?"

"I don't know but it must have been destined..."

I also don't know so we should find out that later on. I sighed and shook my head but before asking him another I landed my hands on both of his shoulders.

"Then Key, I knew that my father had long given me some of the documents within the small village of Austuria, the temple, and the imperial family. To keep that safe as I hadn't had the time yet to finish those, would you be able to keep that safe?"

"Anything the lady asked for..."

"You're like becoming more like Lexus"

"Well, I couldn't deny it because I've been amazed at his growth recently, Lady Vestia"

"I guess I have the same eyes as you..."

"Besides that, would you want to know something more about the Belfore East? Young Master Lexus said that something recently occurred in there and I needed to inform you, it was about the illegal trading..."

"What about the Clamorians there, Key?"

"Clamorians? You mean about the Blue Rose?"
