Chapter 23

(Rossetti's pov)

The cat was gone in the morning.

I woke up to the pain in my chest breaking into fitting coughs spitting out blood it was like someone was ripping my chest open and stabbing my heart.

One of the maids must have seen the pain in my eye's since they called for the priestess instantly and I instantly yanked my hands back when she tried to use divine magic it hurt to much.

Everything hurt.

"STOP!" the priestess looked up with wide eyes "Duke Astor" The priestess muttered "what wrong?"

"I think I figured it out" Uncle was panting like he had run thirty miles he held up a black crystal "isn't that-" Grandfather who had been watching on the side lines unable to do anything looked at uncle with a raised brow.

Everything was becoming blurry again as I tried to hear the conversation Uncle suddenly put the smooth stone in my hand and it felt like the pain in my heart was being taken away.

I waited for the pain just like when ginger had been sitting on my lap but it never came. I moved expecting something

Nothing everything felt lighter no longer like something was trying to crush me choke me and stab me all at the same time.

Exhausted I closed my eyes and fell into deep sleep.

"Wow didn't expect them to figure it out so quickly" A masculine voice said I opened my eyes to find two people peering down at me a tanned buff man with golden hair amber eyes and a scar on his nose and a short boy around my age with straight brown hair dark skin dark brown eyes which crinkled as he had a wide grin plastered on his face revealing two sharp fangs.

I sat up instantly where was I?

I had been lying down on a field of pure green grass small blooming flowers made it even more mesmerising.

I could hear a lake in the distance as I looked around "where am I?" I said again this time aloud as a cool breeze went past.

"Well kid welcome to the place you'll be trapped in for most of your dreams and after you die" the golden haired man said "who are you?" I asked I could recognise the voice it sounded familiar.

I thought hard and it hit me

The voice in my head!

"Ginger!?" I exclaimed pointing at him "my names not ginger! It's Luca! I'm Luca Falconhearth!

"Falconherth?" I looked at him struggling to pronounce the long name 'who decided on the the surname falconhearth why make it so long?'

"I'm going to call you ginger it's easier" I shrugged "HOW DARE YOU! Do you have an idea I have I'm the third greatest warrior of-"

"Third? Don't people usually brag about being the first?" I asked "what's good about being the third?"

Gingers face flushed red "why you little brat I help you and this is how you repay me!?"

"How did you help me?" I asked "I mean didn't I feed you every day how come my cat is a person?"

Ginger sighed pinching the bridge of his nose "every day you'd come and feed me and I'd bring a small amount of mana absorbing crystals only small shards I'd drop it on the floor next to you of course you didn't notice you thought I was just sniffing the grass or stretching"

"But if your trapped here how exactly did you become a cat?" I asked not giving ginger time to pause "it was a curse from one of the first half mana half Prana child the witch or fake saintess had a spell cast on her that any of her kind be trapped here so they think they've keep the devil away and since the spell can't be undone when Hades joined or found out about it he searched for the lost relic and was only able to uncast the spell a bit before the scroll went up in flames so now we can escape from this place as anything but humans so technically animals"

"How come no one could see you and only me?" I bombard him with the next question instantly "since I was in a spirit state not my actual cat form I could have showed you my human version as well but I thought you'd get freaked out and believe your seeing ghosts-"

"So are you half cat now?"

Ginger sighed "no! I'm not half cat or I wasn't that was half the problem though because of Hades lovely mistake we can only go down to earth in three forms spirit (ghost) animal and spirit animal (ghost animal)"

"Ok" I stopped asking questions turning to look at the brown haired boy he was wearing som sort of very long white shirt that covered his hands he had small fangs and was casting me a cheeky grin if they weren't half animal how come he had fangs? But I didn't have time to ask because the boy suddenly asked

"wanna look around since Luke is boring to hang out with"

"Sure-" I didn't even have time to fully accept when he grabbed my hand and ran through the forest "what's your name!?" He asked turning back to me he was fast very fast to the point you'd think it was the wind going past "Rossetti!" I exclaimed closing my eyes against the harsh gust of wind "nice to meet you Rossetti I'm Clyde" the boy came to a skidding halt.

I gaped we were seconds away from falling of a cliff and into a large sea Clyde looked at me with a smile "you don't know how to use magic do you?"

I shook my head and Clyde shrugged "you'll learn"

"You see that" Clyde pointed to the large see not giving me time to breath "yea I can see it it's kind of hard not to..." I muttered breathlessly it was an amazing sight "that surrounds this hole place you can swim in it but if you go to deep you'll head to the doors out of the spirit world and you'll become a spirit animal or what ever spike said"

He explained it easily "how old are you?" I asked Clyde looked at me and smiled "Ninety nine"

"What!?"
