Chapter 21

(Rossetti pov)

I opened my eyes staring at the plain ceiling I didn't have the energy to move.

I didn't want to move incase I'd feel the pain again.

But after a few minutes I became restless.

Sitting up slowly I winced as a sudden pain pierced my chest i broke into a fitting cough once again.

The door burst open a maid stood there wide eyes she turned her head to down the corridor and yelled "My lady is awake! Call Lady Shannet! Quick"

I heard the sound of rushing footsteps the maid turned to me " my lady we were so worried I'm so glad you've woken up!" The maid sighed with relief  I thought hard trying to remember the maids name "Elizabeth... what happened?" I asked the maid paused "my lady passed out at the banquet Lord Lombardy called the doctors as well as the priestess and the master of the tower"

I looked at my fingers "how long have I been out for?"

"Two weeks my lady" the maid replied honestly I froze

'Two weeks...'

The door burst open making me jump a little "Rossetti!" Gilliu ran across the room quickly "She's ok!" Mayron exclaimed.

"Y-yea of course I'm ok!" I stammered not sure what was going on but I did know I was glad for the pain to finally go away!

"How are you feeling" mother asked walking in more calmly

"Better" I forced a smile "everyone was so worried the doctors were saying you might not live! They had to hold down Rossetti down and!" Mayron started crying "they made us get out everyone was so scared!"

Suddenly i felt like crying I was going to die!

"Rossetti!? Are you ok!?" Mother suddenly sounded panicked something wet dripped onto my palm I realised I was crying.

Hades words were still ringing through my ears I was going to die! Wiping my eyes

"I don't wanna die!" I cried out mother paused her arms wrapped around me firmly "no one will let that happen" she whispered.

'She didn't know that though'

'She didn't know it was going to happen! Unless I could figure out how to handle my mana or Prana! What ever it was!"

"My lady! Your awake!" A priest burst in through the door

The minute the blond haired man entered sharp pain struck my head and it felt hard to breathe.

"Call the priestess and the leader of the mage tower now!" Mother exclaimed

I gripped my throat which felt like it was on fire! Tears burned my eyes "Rossetti!" I could hear Gillis panicked voice.

I could hear talking and panicking but then something light touched my hands and the pain went away.

"Geeze kid you seriously need to learn how to control your mana it's leaking from all directions!" I looked around mother still looked panicked- Uncle was shaking his head and the priestess who had been infusing divine magic into my body which made it hurt more was no longer doing that- everyone's gaze somewhere else

I looked down- Ginger!? The cat I had been feeding was sitting on my lap.

"Rossetti?" Mother asked cautiously "are you ok? Did the mana infusion work?" Mother turned to Uncle with wide an panicked eyes- did anyone see the cat?

'No they can't see me'

I looked at the cat who was just curled up

'Was it the cat speaking to me? No it's sleeping then who's there!?' My thoughts screamed

Ow quite down will you! Ugh! Kids these days no respect!

I looked down at the cat who yawned.

How are you doing that?

I thought but I got no reply the cat stood up and walked of the bed and instantly I was met by pain No wait wait! My thoughts screamed the cat turned around and I swear I saw it sigh!

It came back and lay down on my lap

Only because it was comfy

The deep voice muttered the pain was gone "Rossetti!" Mother shook me out of my trance

"Yes?" I asked "are you still in pain?" She asked I shook my head "no the cat-it made the pain go away" I pointed to my lap.

Everyone looked at my lap "what cat?" Uncle asked "ginger the one I feed everyday he's right there!" I pointed to my lap-

"And did this cat say anything?" Uncle asked cautiously "nope- well he said my mana is leaking everywhere"

"Mana?" Uncle said sharply moving away from the wall I shrugged "the cats sleeping now-"

Shut up your to loud the voice grumbled

I paused and thought I am Not Loud!

"Do you know what's wrong with her?" Mother asked worriedly as the doctor checked on me "well I only have two conclusions" the doctor said leaning back "the first one is the most reasonable your daughter might have a mana leak- but then she would be dying-"

Uncle nodded as if he had already considered that grandfather's and grandmother on the other hand shook there head "or" The doctor sighed "she is terminally Ill and I have no clue which sickness and I can't guess if she'll live or die"

Father stalked out of the room I lay back down not caring I already knew what was wrong.

Mother said she'd check on me tomorrow eventually everyone only the maids stayed.

But I dismissed them saying I wanted to sleep.
