Chapter 14

One more week till my eighth birthday.

And now I'm here getting dressed for a family dinner "Rossetti! Rossetti your matching with us!" Mayron exclaimed I turned to them they were both wearing white and dark blue mother was wearing black and dark blue while I chose to wear similar to mother a dark blue nearly black dress with white cuffs and gold pattern decor.

"Mother what jewellery are you going to wear?" I asked looking at mother who seemed deep in thought "huh oh sapphire's" she nodded to the maid who fixed her hair "we're gonna wear gold roses!" Gilliu exclaimed picking out gold cloth pins I looked at my options  "sapphire head wear" I nodded mother smiled and nodded as the maid adjusted the size pearls draped around my head and a sapphire sat near my forehead I didn't like heavy jewellery but just this once would be fine!

"Come on Rossetti let's go see Tia!" Gilliu dragged me along "ok! Ok wait!" I exclaimed mother smiled laughing lightly as Father smirked.

Father had changed completely when he had come back from his business trip or his trip to the Schulz mansion he seemed to look at me the same way as before he even apologised for hitting me he said he had been drunk of course I said ok what was I meant to say? After that he kept sending gifts to apologise and he spent more time with me.

"Rossetti come over here for a second" mother called just as Gilliu let go of my hand "but mum we need to go!" Mayron exclaimed from up ahead  "I'll catch up later plus I'm to tired to run" I sighed Gilliu nodded "ok Mayron wait up!" Gilliu exclaimed running after him Father had also gone ahead when I stayed back with mother walking quietly.

"Ronnece told me you were crying because your father hit you?" Mother looked at me seriously holding my hand I looked up at her.

"I-I" I looked at my feet "Rossetti did your Father hit you?" She asked "Not hard" i muttered "he said he was drunk and apologised"

"Drunk?" Mother looked at me confused I nodded "it's ok mother everything's good Father said sorry I'm fine now"

The words felt bitter on my tongue I was lying to my mother. But as long as things stayed the way they were I was fine!

"If you say so but Rossetti if anything is bothering you just tell me ok" Mother said I smiled "Yes Mother!"

"Ok now go play" mother smiled and I nodded running towards Gilliu and Mayron who were talking with Tia up ahead "Rossetti" Tia smiled "Tia! How have you been?" I asked she nodded "Good"

"Rossetti's birthday is coming up soon" Mayron said proudly "she's going to be eight like Tia!" Gilliu said Tia nodded "yea I can't wait"

"Come on let's go!" Gilliu said "yea we're going to be late!" Mayron agreed as we both followed along more slowly.

"Rossetti's birthday is next week... what's your favourite colour?" Tia asked I looked at her and smiled "I like the colour blue" I replied "great! Let's hurry up before Gilliu and Mayron cause trouble" Tia held my hand I laughed and nodded was we entered the dining hall.

I sat next to Larane eating silently at the children's table.

"What is sister Larane doing today?" I asked "Hm well I don't have any classes today but Father wants to go out as a family later on why?" Larane asked "I wanted to play in the garden with Larane" I said "we can after lunch" Larane smiled "can I join?" Craney asked "sure" I nodded.

Just then a grapefruit fell next to Tias plate and Belsach Threw one at her making her drop her fork on the table loudly

"Looks like Tia hasn't learnt table manners" Belsach chuckled to Ascallilu "looks like she's still very lacking at table manners" Aunt Seral smirked "Galahan stop fooling around and teach your daughter some manners" Uncle Vise went along with it.

Aunt Ronnece looked at Tia in a Disgusting manner and whispered something to Uncle Laurel who looked uncomfortable.

"I know a good etiquette teacher if you want" Father joined in.

Me and Larane looked at each other looking as the adults and Belsach picked on Tia.

Who looked mad.

"Viese do you remember when Belsach first greeted the Royal family he tripped over his own cloths and fell" mother said calmly eating "y-yes I guess he was just nervous in front of the royal family and all" Uncle stuttered.

"Well he never showed up to class saying he was prepared" Mother continued everyone looked at her with wide eyes "yea! But he's a kid he just made a mistake- that's how kids learn from there mistakes? Uncle continued.

'Stupid uncle' I thought taking a bite of my steak "That right kids are allowed to make mistakes" Mother said putting her fork down lightly and drinking some water which made Uncel angry but he shut up.

Gilliu chuckled "so you tripped in front of the royal family"

Belsach blushed with embarrassment "that must have been so embarrassing" Mayron smirked.

Tia smiled slightly taking a grape and eating it with a smile.

Uncle Viese suddenly stood up asking grandfather if he can pour him a drink while talking about how Belsach became the First Prince's playmate and I felt fathers gaze land on me making me look up.

Disappointed. It was clear in his gaze clear then ever. Father definitely hadn't been drunk he hit me on purpose but- but- I looked back at my food eating silently as Uncle rambled on.

That was until Grandfather called Tia over who stood up walking over to grandfather as he put a key necklace around her neck "my birthday gift to you a privet library here's the key sorry it's so late" Grandfather smiled Tia looked up at him with wide green eyes.

Then she smiled "Thank you grandfather! I'll make sure to read lots of books!" Grandfather ruffled her hair "good if you ever need any help as the librarian"

That got sour looks from Uncle Viese and Aunt Laurel.

To bad I didn't care. I smiled and nodded at Tia "wow is that the key?" Gilliu asked "yea" Tia replied "I'll make sure to invite you" "and me?" Mayron asked Tia nodded then looked at me "As well as Rossetti and Larane I know you both like to read" Tia smiled I paused a little shocked then nodded "Thank you big sister Tia!"

Uncle Viese still wasn't done as he tried to insult Uncle Galahan I zoned out then grown ups- always fighting we'll Uncle Viese to be exact. Always think he's better than everyone!

I cut a small piece of meat and sighed "so Cousin Rossetti's Birthday is coming up soon!" Craney who was sitting next to me said I looked at him and smiled "Yes" "I- I got you a gift yesterday I hope you'll like it" Craney stuttered making me ruffle his hair "I like anything Craney gets me" he looked up at me and grinned "Ok!"
