Chapter 615
Mason was thrilled, his cheeks flushed with excitement.
After Damon left, he looked up at Nyla and cheered, âMommy, Daddy said yes!â
Mason was usually a reserved child, so seeing him so expressive made Nyla smile. âYeah, I heard that.â
In the following days, Mason eagerly counted down to Saturday, looking forward to it more with each passing day.
Finally, Saturday arrived, and Mason woke up early.
Nyla, who had light sleep, got up when he did.
After they finished breakfast, Damon came downstairs. Seeing Nyla and Mason waiting on the couch, particularly Masonâs eager expression, made Damon subconsciously speed up his breakfast.
When they left, it was not even 8:00 a.m. yet.
Nyla felt a bit worried. âDo you think the amusement park will be open this early?â
Damon looked up from his documents, his expression nonchalant. âNo worries;. I rented out the entire park.â
Nyla was taken aback.
Damon noted her reaction and asked, âWhatâs wrong?â
âMr. Sumner, you know the whole point of going to an amusement park is to have a lot of people there, right? If you rented it out, whatâs the point?â Nyla asked
Damon frowned. âWhatâs the fun in being packed in with a crowd?â
âItâs fun when there are lots of people! Many attractions are meant for groups. You canât really enjoy them alone,â Nyla argued.
âAre you sure?â Damon sounded doubtful. He hated crowded places.
âMr. Sumner, youâve never been to an amusement park before, have you?â Nyla asked.
The car fell silent after her question.
Realizing Damon didnât answer, Nyla guessed that, given the Sumnersâ background, Richard and Marie likely hadnât had time to take him to an amusement park when he was little.
Suddenly, she felt a pang of pity for him, thinking he must have missed out on a normal childhood.
Noticing that Nylaâs gaze lingered on him strangelyâalmost with pityâDamon frowned and said coldly, âIf the amusement park is as you say, then Iâm actually glad Iâve never been.â
Nyla pulled back her sympathy in response to his open disdain; he certainly didnât need it.
Even though Damon disliked crowds, he still asked Mason if he wanted to play at the park alone or with the others.

hediately responded that he wanted to be with the other children.
few moments of internal debate, Damon dialed Lucaâs number. âCancel the booking for the usement park.â
Nyla was surprised. She hadnât expected Damon, who disliked crowds so much, to compromise for their child. It seemed like he had changed a lot in the past five years.
If it had been five years ago, he would never have done something so accommodating for someone else, based on her understanding of him.
Nyla lowered her gaze, feeling a mix of complicated emotions.
By the time they arrived at the amusement park, it was nearly 9:00 a.m. A long line of parents with children had formed outside, creating a bustling scene.
As soon as Damon stepped out of the car and saw the sea of people, his brows knitted tightly. He regretted canceling the reservation after hearing Nyla and Masonâs comments. He could already imagine how crowded it would be inside.
Since he had given them a headsâup, the staff members greeted them immediately and led them through a side entrance meant for employees.
Once inside the amusement park, Mason let go of Nyla and Damonâs hands and dashed ahead.
Nyla quickly picked up her pace to catch up. âBuddy, slow down! Be careful not to trip!â
