Chapter 341
Caroline didnât say anything more, merely reminding Nyla to be careful on her way back before heading into the hotel.

Nyla got home and sat on the sofa. She was about to rest when she noticed a corner of the invitation peeking out of her bag. She pulled it out and opened it. As she read through the conference details, her grip on the invitation tightened.
Maybe Caroline was right. She should reconsider her future plans. She couldnât have children, and even without Rebeccaâs interference, she and Damon wouldnât have lasted.
Besides, having already been burned once by Clark, she shouldnât make the same mistake again.
With that thought, a determined glint appeared in her eyes.
The next morning, as soon as Nyla arrived at Prospectus Technology, she ran into Rebecca.
To be precise, Rebecca was deliberately waiting for her.
âMs. Jayston, good morning! I came to deliver breakfast to Damon. He has a sensitive stomach and doesnât like eating breakfast made by others, so I made it myself,â Rebecca said.
Nyla frowned and replied coldly, âMs. Austen, if you enjoy showing off so much, you might as well bring along a couple of photographers next time to capture, ou delivering breakfast and send the photos to some entertainment news outlets. Let everyone

see how âvirtuous and considerateâ you are.â
Rebecca smirked and brushed her hair back. âThereâs no need for that. As long as Damon understands my intentions, thatâs enough.â
âThen donât flaunt it in front of me. Iâm not interested.â With that, Nyla walked past her and left.
Rebecca watched her retreating figure, her smile widening. She hoped Nyla had really given up on Damon. Otherwise, she would ensure Nyla couldnât stay in Saintornia.
Once on the top floor, Rebecca walked straight into Damonâs office.
âDamon, I heard you didnât have breakfast before coming to work. I brought you breakfast. I made it myself. Please have it before you start working,â she said.
Damon remained impassive, his eyes still on the documents. âJust leave it on the desk. Youâre not well. Thereâs no need for you to cook or bring food in person.â
Rebecca bit her lip, disappointment flashing in her eyes. âBut you have a sensitive stomach because you skipped breakfast at university. You should-â
Before she could finish, the office door swung open, and Spencer rushed in.
Seeing Rebecca, he paused before saying, âMr. Sumner, I have an important report.â
Damon finally looked up at Rebecca, âYou can go now. I need to get back to work.â

âBut the breakfast-â Rebecca began.
Damon didnât respond, his impatience evident.
Reluctantly, Rebecca set the thermos down. âRemember to eat it later.â
She left, glancing back several times.
âWhatâs the matter?â Damon asked Spencer.
âMr. Clark has stolen another partnership from us,â Spencer reported.
Damon tossed the document onto the desk, his expression
tightening and growing colder. âIt seems heâs determined to go head- toâhead with Prospectus Technology.â
Spencer kept his head down, hesitant to speak. After all, Clark was Damonâs nephewâone of their own.
âFind out which companies heâs been working with recently. If he wants to play games, Iâll play along!â Damon huffed.
âYes, sir!â Spencer replied.
Once Spencer left, Damon picked up the documents again, ignoring the breakfast on his desk.
