Chapter 155
âYou accuse me of harassing her? Do you have any evidence? If not, Iâll call the police and report you for assault. You might end up spending a few days behind bars!â Dylan threatened.
Clark remained unfazed. âGo ahead, but donât be surprised if itâs you who ends up in jail.â
Dylanâs bluster lost its impact as Clarkâs calm demeanor persisted. Gritting his teeth, Dylan snapped, âFine! Just wait. Youâd better hope I donât see you again!â
With that, he turned and stormed off.
Clark watched him go with cold, steely eyes. Someone like that dared to harass Nyla?
Clark turned to her, his expression dark. âWhy didnât you tell me someone was bothering you?â
It was clear from her reaction that this man had been a recurring problem.
Nyla pressed her lips together. âI didnât expect him to get physical. I rejected him yesterday.â
She hadnât anticipated Dylanâs persistence despite her clear refusal.
Clark sneered. âTolerating people like him only emboldens them. Iâll call Uncle Damon later and ask him how he manages his employees.â
Nyla frowned at the mention of involving Damon. âItâs just a minor issue. No need to trouble him.â
Clark paused and scrutinized her denly. âDo you really think itâs minor, or are you worried Iâll make things cult for him?â
Nylaâs expression cooled as she replied, âDo you think you have what it
takes to challenge him?â
âSay that again!â Clark snarled, his eyes blazing with anger.
How dare she imply he couldnât handle Damon?!
âI can say it as many times as you want. Itâs the truth,â Nyla insisted.
Clark laughed coldly. âFine. Very well.
He stormed off toward the car parked by the curb, not uttering a word to Nyla during the drive to Cyrus and Cindyâs place.
Nyla followed him inside, unfazed by his silence.
As they entered the living room, Cyrusâ laughter greeted them.
Nylaâs hands tightened at her sides. She took a deep breath to suppress her emotions and followed Clark in, changing her shoes at the entrance.
She noticed Damon was there as well, playing chess with Cyrus while. Cindy sat nearby, smiling.
Nyla knew that Cyrus and Cindyâs marriage was merely a façade; Cindy was just maintaining appearances.
Seeing Clark, Cindy said gently, âHave a seat. Dinner will start once your dad and uncle finish this game.â
Her smile faded when her gaze landed on Nyla, and she did not greet
her.
Nyla didnât mindâa sudden display of warmth from Cindy would have been unsettling.
Seated on the couch, Clark watched the chess game, where Cyrus appeared to be losing.
Meanwhile, Nyla was preoccupied with figuring out how to access Cyrus
study without being noticed.

The study was on the second floor at the end of the left hallway and was usually locked.
Taking the key from Cyrus wasnât feasible, but Clarkâs bedroom was conveniently next to the study, with their balconies connected. If she could get to Clarkâs balcony, she could access the study.
As Nyla pondered her plan, the chess game ended.
Cyrus sighed. âDamon, you never go easy on me. Iâm your brotherâcanât you cut me some slack?â
Damon dropped the white pieces into the container. âIf you want
someone to go easy on you, play with your subordinates. They wouldnât dare beat you.â
