Chapter Six-"Yeah that makes a lot more sense, he's a crazy cat feeder"

You know when you walk into school and everyone just turns, their eyes gazing up at you? Well that was happening to me right now. I felt like a superstar, like I had just stepped out of a magazine, a queen, where everyone admires and girls look at you with envy. I licked my lips, pushed back my blonde waves and walked down the hallway, not making eye contact with anyone.

Yes, you Vivienne Lanter are one hot little girl.

I heard a few girls whispering as I neared my locker, their eyes fixed solely on me as I turned the combination, swinging the metal door open and digging around for my books. As I focused on finding my Chemistry book, I heard a girly voice speaking to me, well about me more like it.

"Is that the girl Matt was dared to take to The Dance?"

I turned my attention to the black haired girl, as she spoke easily to the brunette girl who replied, "No, it can’t be."

My jaw dropped, did they really think I was some new girl? I was about to say something when I heard a deep voice behind me.

"Viv," Dave greeted, as he slid easily in front of me.

I couldn’t help the blush that crept onto my cheeks, "Dave…hi."

"You know last night you didn’t get to dance with me," Dave began with a smile, "so I was thinking that maybe this weekend we go to the movies this weekend?"

I frowned, "But you don’t dance at…" it clicked suddenly, Dave was asking me out on a date, "Oh! I mean yeah…I uh, would love to go to the movies."

Dave grinned at me, "Great, we’ll talk later?"

I nodded numbly, a goofy smile stretching across my lips. I watched Dave as he walked away and sighed. I was so going to love becoming popular.

Juliet was the first person that I told about Dave. We were in the music room because there was no way that I was going to sit in the cafeteria telling her about my excitement with everyone watching. I needed privacy, and the music room was exactly where I found it. Juliet’s hair was pulled up into a long red braid, her bangs were clipped back for once and she wore simple jeans and a white flowery shirt, but even so, she looked good.

Even without my glasses and the ugly clothes, I still didn’t feel as confident as I should have been. I didn’t know why, but it still felt as though people were talking about me behind my back, that they were still laughing at me and mocking me when I wasn’t looking. I couldn’t help it, but my ego was low and in serious need of some help. Juliet luckily for me, was the person who could help.

"Do you know Dave Peterson?" I asked her.

"I do," Juliet grinned, "he’s the de toute beautè boy that swims."

I nodded, "Well…he asked me out on a date!"

Juliet shrieked, "Finally!"

My lips widened into a smile, "I know right? A date, me going out on a-"

I stopped. I was going on a date with Dave Peterson who probably has kissed girls before and thought that I knew how to behave in society. I, Vivienne Lanter the VL senior who still didn’t know how to kiss was going on a date with a guy who probably expected to kiss me. I gulped. Not only would he expect to kiss me but he would also expect me to know what to do on a date. Oh dear God help me.

"Lanter," Sean greeted as I stepped out of school.

I sighed, "Yeah?"

"Someone’s not in a good mood," he replied with a smirk.

I shrugged, "You’re really observant."

"Well that’s me, observant as ever," he replied cheerily, "if you’re going to walk any slower," he turned to face me, "I swear I’m going to send those freshmen after you."

I frowned at him, "What freshmen?"

Sean grinned, "You don’t know do you?"

"Know what?" I asked curiously.

"The whole school’s talking about you Lanter, and I mean everyone literally," he replied with a grin.

I stopped walking, "How do you know?"

"I’ve interviewed almost half of the school, and the only thing they can talk about is the geek who changed almost overnight," Sean answered.

My jaw fell to the floor, "Me? People are talking about…me?"

He nodded, running a hand through his dark hair, "And they keep talking about the party last night."

I felt my cheeks warming at the thought of dancing with Sean. My breathing became irregular and I felt my throat closing up. Really Viv? You’re going to get embarrassed over thinking about dancing with Sean? It was just dancing, nothing happened back there and besides, the cops came in before anything could have actually happened. What would have happened, I thought. He could have kissed you Viv! You saw how he leaned closer and-

"Lanter?" Sean called, "Are you okay?"

I nodded, "Uh yeah…" I glanced around, "so uh how’s Amanda?"

Sean shrugged, "She’s been better, I caught her smoking some illegal stuff from Chris’s stash and well…"

My eyes widened, "Is she sick or something?"

Sean laughed at my reaction, "No, God Lanter. It was just a party, trust me when Amanda told that she’s been to a lot worse believe her."

I nodded, still feeling uneasy as I slid into the passenger seat of Sean’s car. As we drove in silence towards my house, I couldn’t help but think about Amanda. All I knew was that she was obviously a close friend to Sean’s family and that she went to a boarding school overseas. Clearly she liked Sean, I mean what with all that touching and eye contact she made with him, and she was definitely pretty enough to date Sean, but other than that, who was Amanda really?

I snapped out of my thoughts when I spotted a BMW parked in my front yard. Okay, I knew for a fact that mum did not own a car like that. Sean parked on the side of the road and glanced at me, "I thought you said it would be fine to tutor me here?"

"I thought so too," I replied with a frown.

Walking towards the front door, I could hear a male voice and my mother laughing suddenly causing my chest to constrict. Oh please don’t let it be-

"Viv!" my mother beamed, "You’re home."

"Mum," I greeted her, "whose car is…"

I trailed off when my eyes came to rest on a man. He was smiling at me, standing taller than my mother with brown hair with flecks of grey strands here and there. He wore a simple suit and looked like the type to work in finance or law. I didn’t need to turn to my mother to know who he was. The smile on her face just said it all. It was Jeff, the guy she wanted to introduce me to.

I swallowed a lump. No matter how much I wanted to see my mother happy and with someone, I couldn’t help but feel caged. Everything was happening so fast, I thought I was going to meet him some other time, not now when Sean was standing right behind me expecting to be tutored. How could I just sit there and smile when my mother was making goo-goo eyes at this…stranger!?

"Viv honey, this is Jeffery Andrews," my mother broke my thoughts.

I turned to face the man my mother was dating and smiled, "Hi."

"When your mother told me that you were eighteen, I hardly believed her," Jeff smiled, "she looks so young, but now look how grown up you are."

I forced a smile, "Thanks."

Jeff turned to Sean, "And is this your boyfriend?"

My cheeks suddenly lit up with heat, "No!"

Sean chuckled, "I’m Sean. Vivienne’s tutoring me."

Jeff turned to smile at me, "Beauty and brains, powerful weapon against all those guys huh?"

My mother glanced at me from the corner of her eye. You’re doing this for her Viv, she’s your mother and she’s been single ever since you came along. Give her a break, let her be happy, you’re going to leave for college soon so let her have someone else to fall back onto. Don’t be so selfish, she deserves love as much as you do, think about how you would feel if she told you not to date anyone?

"Thanks," I replied, smiling wider this time.

"Maybe we should do this another time?" Sean asked, turning to look at Jeff and my mother.

Hell no!

"No!" I said a little too quickly, "I mean, we could go somewhere else and uh…" I smiled nervously, "study."

Sean gave me a look, raising an eyebrow but replied, "If it’s fine with your mother?"

My mother smiled, "It’s perfectly fine, just make sure to be home by dinner time."

I nodded, "Bye mum."

Grabbing Sean’s arm, I dragged him out the door before I could hear my mother’s response. I let out a breath that I didn’t know I had been holding and slumped forward. God, what’s wrong with you Viv? She’s your mother and she’s just dating a guy that she introduce to you, so why are you getting so worked up on this? She needs to get a husband someday, you can’t keep her back forever.

"Are you okay?" Sean asked.

I shrugged, "Yeah I’m fine."

"Doesn’t look like it," he replied as we got into his car.

"I just…" I began, "…he wasn’t…I thought that maybe…"

"Maybe?" Sean asked.

"Maybe I wouldn’t meet him," I replied softly.

"Why? He seems nice enough," Sean stated.

"He could be a serial killer," I protested, "or a rapist, you never know until it’s too late."

Sean chuckled softly, "Lanter, you really make bad points."

I sighed in defeat, "He was being so nice."

"Maybe because he is?" Sean asked.

"Or maybe he’s trying to win my trust so he can gut me like a fish and feed me to his cat!" I exclaimed.

Sean laughed, "Yeah that makes a lot more sense, he’s a crazy cat feeder."

Oh my God. Sean’s house was stunning, huge and wow. Unlike Chris’ house which was large and resembled the White House, Sean’s was themed in an English cottage sort of way. Scratch that, it was designed in and English castle sort of way. Cobblestone walls and three storeys tall, it was a sight to see. The garden was large with a stone fountain in the centre, a statue of an angel spitting out water into the bottom of its base. Flowers of all sorts of colours took over the rest of the grass, causing butterflies to swarm the place.

"Lanter?" Sean called.

I snapped out of my thoughts, "Uh…yeah?"

"You’re staring," Sean said amused, "at it’s at the house and not me."

I scoffed, "Why would I stare at you?"

Because he’s hot Viv, that’s why. You’re insanely captured by his Sex God looks, face the facts. Sean Gregory is hot and you would be lying if you said you weren’t even the slightest bit attracted to him. The guy has a slight British accent! That is like a major turn on in all books everywhere, he’s a bad boy and rides a bike and- Focus!

"Because you want me," Sean replied with a smirk.

Rolling my eyes, I followed him into his house. Everything looked antique, it was like I had stepped into another time period where cobblestones and vases were in fashion. Sean noticed me staring at everything because coyly he said, "Lily sort of forced dad into making the house look like this."

I smiled, "It looks amazing."

Sean turned to me with a grin, "Maths then?"

I nodded, sitting across from him at the large dining table when I heard a manly voice calling, ‘Sean’. I looked up and my eyes came into contact with deep brown ones, a lot like Sean’s but they were darker. Same dark hair and dazzling smiles and not to mention tall. It could only be one person only, Sean’s father.

"You’re home," Sean stated, standing up to face the man.

"Took the day off, Lily called me, something about your mother," he replied.

Sean turned to look at me uneasily, "This is Vivienne."

I smiled weakly, "Hello."

"I’m Douglas," Sean’s father greeted, "it’s a pleasure to meet a girl who isn’t in the midst of leaving my son’s room."

I felt my cheeks heat up as Sean rolled his eyes and screamed, "Dad!"

Douglas chuckled, "It’s the truth Sean, and I think Vivienne here deserves to hear it."

I smiled, "Oh…I’m tutoring Sean…not uh dating him."

"Smart girl," Douglas commented, "my boy here isn’t one to be committed."

"That’s enough," Sean cut his father off, even though there was hint of amusement in his eyes.

"If you say so, carry on you two," Douglas chuckled, "oh and Vivienne, no matter what, do not go upstairs with this boy alone."

I began to laugh, but stopped when Sean threw me a glare, "I uh…won’t."

"Good girl," Douglas replied before walking out of the room.

Sean sighed, sat down opposite me and spoke, "The man is nuts."

I raised an eyebrow, "He’s nice."

Sean scowled, "Because he wasn’t talking about your sex life was he?"

My cheeks warmed slightly and I looked away from Sean, "Yeah…right."

Sean laughed, "I heard you scored a date this weekend."

I nodded, "Yeah, with Dave."

"Swimmer boy?" Sean asked.

"Aha," I replied.

"Good choice, so where’s he taking you to?" Sean questioned.

"The movies," I said.

"Ah, classic kissing choice," Sean replied with a smirk, "he so wants a piece of action from you."

I rolled my eyes, "Be any weirder?"

Sean shrugged, "I dunno? Would it be weirder if I start telling you sex jokes?"

I slapped my forehead, "Shut up."

"I’m like a Rubik’s cube, the longer you play with me the-"

"SHUT UP!" I cut him off, covering my ears.

I mentally groaned as Sean burst out laughing, God, today was going to be a long day.

A/N Hey there Geeklings! Yes, such a sad and hopeless excuse for a chapter? I tried, trust me, I really did. I rewrote the chapter over five times and this the best I could do. I swear next chapter will be a hell of a lot better, especially since it's going to be Viv's first date with Dave =D Also, I really need you, my Geeklings, to tell me if you read uhm...scenes...steamy scenes...because I've worked out how the story ends, and I worked out major scenes too, which some include maybe some stuff... If there's a lot of people who would actually read restricted stuff, I need to know so that I can put up a BP Restricted chpaters, so I can compensate for everyone. Alright, that being said, did you hate the chapter as much as me? Liking Sean a bit more? Maybe you want some Dave action in your life? I want feedback!!!
