~Dedicated to getting drunk for the first time~

Chapter Twelve-"You look beautiful right now Vivienne"

I’ve never been one to drink, in fact I never really had any opportunities to actually drink except whenever I stayed over at Juliet’s house and her family were having some Italian themed celebration because the restaurant business was getting bigger and better. So the fact that I was currently sitting opposite Lily, while she expertly mixed different looking alcohols in a bottle, made me feel all nervous and anxious on the inside. I sucked in a breath, and allowed my eyes to take in Lily’s composed and focused expression. Maybe if I just played it cool, then everything would be fine?

Lily, who noticed me staring, looked up and smiled at me reassuringly. Her eyes, just like Sean’s were a deep hazel colour, but somehow seemed lighter, capturing the bright bar lights from above. Her hair was long and open, the darkness a contrast to her pale skin, curling at the ends. Her lips were pouty and covered in a deep red lipstick, ‘For kissing’, Lily had simply explained after she caught me staring. Wearing nothing but a mini skirt and a plain white tank top along with black wedges, Lily still looked as though she was ready to party and for the first time that night, I wondered if Sean may have been right about his sister being a party animal.

“What’s that?” I asked, wanting to calm my nerves.

Lily glanced down at the bottle she was mixing, the liquid inside was a pinkish colour which seemed to glow in the dim lighting. She stopped shaking the bottle, removing the lid and lowered it to my nose. My eyes stung slightly as the strong scent of cherry and something alcoholic made its way into my nostrils, causing my cheeks to go red and my throat to go dry. I began to cough, my hands flying to cover my mouth as I stared at Lily, who tried her best to cover a laugh but failed miserably.

“It’s supposed to be a cherry cocktail,” Lily explained in between laughs, “but I’m taking it as I made it too strong?”

I nodded, “You don’t say.”

Lily laughed again before adding more cherry juice into the bottle, before she turned to me with a smile and spoke, “You know it’s nice that you’re tutoring Sean.”

My lips curved up into a smile as I replied, “It’s no problem at all.”

Lily replied, “Either way, it’s great that he’s finally doing something for himself…I mean after the whole divorce thing and us moving with dad to Redwood, things haven’t exactly been the same.”

I frowned, my curiosity suddenly flaring, “Why?”

Lily scanned the room, checking for anyone else, before whispering, “Well you do know that mum left us for some younger guy right?”

I nodded.

“Well,” Lily continued bitterly, “turns out that the guy she left us for was one of Sean’s good friends.”

My eyes widened in horror as I answered, my tone slightly mixed with disgust, “That’s awful!”

“What’s awful?” a voice asked from behind.

I turned around, my eyes coming into contact with Sean’s as he walked towards the bar stool I sat on. Swallowing and glancing at Lily who was clearly trying to look as though she had just been caught for admitting using legwarmers, turned to me and shrugged subtly. I turned my attention back to Sean and gave him a weak smile, and mimicked Lily’s shrug before coming up with what I will claim as the best excuse of my life.

“Oh you know,” I began, my voice slightly unsteady, “Lily made me try her cocktails and it was you know, awful?”

Sean seemed to buy the lie, and chuckled, “Yeah, Lil’s drinks are usually horrendous.”

“As if,” Lily retorted, seeming to gain her composure, “my drinks are a lot better than yours.”

“Says the girl who once thought that drinking chilli juice would be a hell of a blast,” Sean replied with a smirk.

I found myself laughing slightly, but hid it when Lily turned to glare at me, “That’s it, both of you out with the rest of the group.”

“I’m sorry,” I mumbled, turning to Lily.

“No,” she said, but her eyes were lined with amusement, “if you two can’t support my wonderfully creative drinks then I don’t want your negativity and bad vibes affecting me.”

I frowned, but Sean explained, “She’s into a lot of these hoodoo crap.”

“It is not ‘crap’,” Lily retorted in her version of an American accent, “it is merely my belief.”

“Come on Lanter,” Sean began, tugging my arm, “let’s leave before she goes on about witches.”

I laughed as I followed Sean out through the backdoor of the cabin, where everyone, including Lily’s posh England friends were sitting around a huge campfire and laughing like fools. I spotted Juliet, whose red hair was blazing in the fire’s light. She caught me looking and mouthed, ‘Lover Boy’, to me with a sly smile, before nodding towards Sean. Instantly I felt my cheeks heat up with embarrassment and was glad for the night’s sky that concealed my blush.

Suddenly I felt someone watching me. Turning to side, I noticed that Dave was staring not at me, but at Sean with a thoughtful look. I frowned, realising that Sean and I were standing too close for just friends and instantly I stepped away, and turned towards Dave but stopped when I heard Sean’s voice behind me. God Viv, look at you, second time for one day and you’re already ditching him, and after the whole learning about his messy mother? What kind of person does that?

“Lanter, everything okay?” Sean asked, his eyes lacing with concern.

I managed a nod, before replying, ‘Yeah everything’s great. I was just uh…” I trailed of, glancing back at Dave, whose eyes were now narrowed, “going to sit with Dave.”

Sean’s eyes glanced up, going passed me and towards Dave, before they fell back onto mine, “How great,” he said sarcastically, “you two don’t mind if I join right?”

I shook my head, realising that I was probably just going to make a fool out of myself as we made our way to sit next to Dave on the ground. I sighed, as Sean plonked down, leaving only enough space for me to sit in between him and Dave. With an inward groan, I stared down at the spot, my eyes falling onto the small patch of blanket that was left for me, before I turned to Sean who didn’t seemed at all bothered, and then I turned to Dave, who was looking up at me expectantly.

Oh great Viv, this is going to be fun, isn’t it?

With another sigh, I fell onto the ground, wedging myself in between Sean and Dave as Chris stood up, in the middle of the group assembled. His light hair which seemed white in the fire’s glow and plain white shirt and faded jeans made him seem more like some angel from the heavens, than just a regular hormonal boy who seemed to have the hots for Juliet. He cleared his throat, before making sure that his eyes made contact with everyone’s in who sat around the fire before he began in a deep and almost quest-like voice.

“Since the dawn of time,” Chris started, “there has been a tradition which has never been broken at every campfire,” he continued, “a game which could mean the death of us all,” He grinned at this part, “and it is called,” he paused, “never have I ever.”

Amanda squealed and I fought the urge to roll my eyes at her reaction. So maybe I wasn’t over the fact that she may or may have not flirted with Dave in the lake. Sue me for being a regular girlfriend who had some insecurity problems. I snapped out of my thoughts when both Sean and Dave stood up, leaving me on the ground to feel all cold and shivery on the ground. Stupidly I realised that everyone was moving to form a circle, and since Lily’s friends were slightly older than us, they seemed content in just sitting around the fire and staring at us ‘kids’ while we got into a small circle just outside the fire’s reach.

Juliet had quickly come to sit next to me and when no one was looking she leaned closer and whispered excitedly, “Oh my God! Viv, did you see how Dave was acting when he saw you and Sean together?”

I groaned, “Jules, be quiet or someone might hear you.”

“Oh please,” she giggled, “this is totally romantic, isn’t it? Like a love triangle!”

Amanda suddenly appeared, plonking down next to Juliet. Her brunette hair was pulled up into a messy bun and she wore plain shorts and a tunic styled shirt which mimicked the colour of mauve. She leaned closer, a silly smile spreading across her lips as she spoke, “Are you two gossiping?”

Juliet rolled her eyes at me, before turning to Amanda, “No sweetie, we were just comparing notes on the lake.”

Amanda began to nod, and then stopped, “Why? Isn’t that boring and nerdy?”

“Amanda,” I began, suddenly feeling sorry for her, “Jules was just kidding.”

“Oh,” Amanda replied then began to laugh slightly, “I thought, you know…you know what? Forget I said anything.”

“You don’t have to tell me twice,” Juliet muttered under her breath.

I nudged Juliet in the ribs, causing her to give me a look, “What?”

“Be nice,” I hissed.

“Why?” Juliet replied her voice low enough for just me to hear, “She was flirting with Dave you know.”

I froze. So it wasn’t just me who thought that Amanda was acting a little too buddy-buddy with Dave? You see Viv; your instincts in relationships are good! You should have just thrown a rock at Amanda and watched her fall to the bottom of the lake, and then you and Dave could kiss forever in that cave and live happily ever after. I sighed, a smile tugging at my lips as I thought about my crazy fantasy before I was pulled out of my thoughts when Lily’s voice interrupted.

She emerged from the cabin, carrying a large tray filled with tiny shot glasses which held a slightly reddish-pink liquid. Walking towards us, she leaned down and handed Chris the tray with a, “For the game while the grownups have fun inside,” before leading her England friends back into the cabin.

Rubbing his hands together in excitement, Chris began, “Who wants to go first?”

“Me! Me, I want to go first!” Amanda beamed.

“Uh,” Chris chuckled slightly, “sure go ahead.”

Amanda grinned, “Okay,” she took hold of a shot glass and then began, “Never have I ever visited Spain.”

Sean booed, “That’s easy.”

Sean and Chris took hold of a shot glass and gulped down the cherry scented drink in one go. I shuddered inwardly at the thought of me having to drink that. What if I got drunk? What if I suddenly went mad and decided to strip naked and run around the cabin singing ‘She’ll be coming around the mountain’? I gulped as Dave went next. Oh no Viv, what if he says something that will force you to drink? Wait, what could Dave have not done, that you have?

“Never have I ever kissed a guy,” Dave stated easily.

Chris and Sean booed again, “You suck man.”

Amanda took hold of a shot glass, downing the drink easily. Juliet glanced at me nervously, before she handed me a shot glass with a small smile, “Now or never,” she whispered before swallowing the liquid in one go.

I turned to stare down at my shot glass before breathing in. Now or never, I repeated in my mind before tipping the glass to my mouth and swallowing the liquid. The taste of cherry spilled onto my tongue, swimming down my throat with a slight burning sensation, causing my eyes to water and my cheeks to go red. I did my best not to cough as I placed the glass back onto the tray. I was glad to see that no one had seemed to notice the effect the alcohol seemed to have on an amateur like me, and that they were more focused on the game than anything else.

Juliet was next, “Never have I ever watched Titanic.”

Sean scoffed, “No way.”

“I agree with Sean,” Dave responded, “you haven’t watched Titanic? Not even a few minutes of it?”

Juliet shrugged, “Hey, my parents believe in all French movies, so sue me if I didn’t watch a ship sinking in the middle of the ocean.”

Everyone in the group except for Juliet all took a shot glass and gulped down Lily’s concoction. Again, my throat burned as I swallowed the liquid cherry, but the sensation went away quicker this time which could have meant that either I was getting drunk or that I was getting used to the taste and for the love of everything good in the world, I was silently praying that it would be the latter. After all, it was just a cocktail right, how strong could it be?

Sean was next and he smirked as he spoke, “Never have I ever given head to my teacher.”

I wrinkled my nose in disgust at the statement then gasped along with everyone else when Amanda’s hand shot out and took hold of the shot glass and swallowed as quickly as she could. After noticing that everyone was staring at her with wide eyes, she shrugged and explained easily, “I needed the good grades and Mr Jones was more than willing.”

“Amanda!” Juliet groaned, covering her ears.

“Hey, I wasn’t the one who said it,” Amanda defended, turning to Sean with a pointed look, “British boy did.”

Sean shrugged, “And I wasn’t the one who did it.”

Chris chuckled, “Okay, okay so Amanda did things to get ahead in life, what else is new?”

“Hey!” Amanda retorted.

Chris ignored her, but his lips curved slightly, “Never have I ever screwed my best friend.”

“That’s because he’s a guy,” Juliet interjected.

Sean’s hand reached out for a shot glass and he shrugged when all eyes turned to him, “She was a girl and it was back in England.”

“Whatever makes you sleep at night,” Dave replied and everyone laughed.

Sean shot Dave a look, but Dave either chose to ignore it or he hadn’t seen the glare that he was receiving.

“It’s your turn Viv,” Juliet said.

I froze, my mind going blank as everything seemed slightly brighter and faces began to move without me turning. I frowned, blinking before I took in a deep breath. Licking my lips, I wracked my mind for something that I hadn’t done. I glanced at Juliet, who was grinning at me, then at Dave who was smiling at me encouragingly and finally at the tray of shot glasses. Gosh, I really needed to stop this whole drinking thing because I could swear that I was drunk right now.

“Never have I ever…” I began, “…uh…told someone I dated that loved them.”

Juliet gave me a sideway glance but I chose to ignore it, as she, Chris and Dave reached out to get a shot glass. My eyes widened slightly. Dave had told someone that he had loved them? I frowned, when did he tell someone that? As I searched my mind for the list of girls that Dave had dated, Amanda took her turn again. Forgetting all about Dave, and trying to focus on everything around me as the world begun to spin, I found myself reaching out for another glass when Amanda spoke.

“Never have I ever eaten sour-worms.”

I gulped the cocktail in one gulp, and it seemed to have a catalyst effect on me. Instantly my vision went from spinning to blurry and my arms felt like lead. Giggling at Dave speaking, I realised that I was well and truly drunk. I reached over for Juliet’s arm, trying to tell her that I needed to go back inside to sleep off the alcohol, but missed and ended up touching the grass instead.

“Lanter,” Sean called and my eyes flickered up to Sean’s.

“Yeah?” I asked, my voice slurring slightly.

“You look sick,” Sean replied, causing Dave to turn and examine my face.

I frowned, my hands flying to my face, “Yeah,” I agreed, “sick…”

“You want to go inside?” Dave suddenly asked.

I nodded my head, “Yeah, I think I should.”

“I’ll come with you,” Dave began, but I stopped him.

“No!” I shouted, then blushed, “I mean, no, it’s fine…I’m fine by myself.”

“Are you sure?” Dave asked, but I knew that he wasn’t going to desert the game and follow me.

“Aha,” I replied, standing to my feet and making my way as quickly as I could without stumbling into the cabin.

I reached the cabin and stumbled into it, ignoring Lily’s posh friends as I struggled up the stairs and towards the nearest bathroom. Shutting the door, I made it just in time to the toilet before everything rose up in my throat, and I heaved it all out. I coughed, before more of Lily’s cocktails rose up in bile before I heaved again until I was sure that nothing else was going to threaten to spew its way out of my mouth again. With a groan, I flushed the toilet and made my way to the sink before I gargled and brushed my teeth.

My head felt like it was about to explode as I walked towards the door of the bathroom and swung it open, which revealed Sean whose eyes were filled with concern. He frowned when his gaze fell onto my face, his hands instantly reaching out to steady me as I swayed on my feet. I mumbled an apology but Sean cut me off, ignoring my protests as he led me down the stairs and passed Lily and her friends, towards a small room that was occupied by a small double bed and cabinets all over the place.

“Welcome,” Sean said, “to the sick room.”

I frowned slightly, “Yay.”

Sean chuckled, closing the door and pointed to the bed, “Go rest while I get you something for your headache.”

“How did you-” but Sean cut me off.

“Please, you just drank a whole lot of vodka and tequila,” he grinned, “and it was mixed with Lil’s cherry crap, you’d be an expert in drinking to not have a headache by now.”

I groaned, “I thought it was just a cocktail.”

Sean chuckled, “I told you Lil was a party animal.”

Shuffling to the bed, I climbed in, ignoring the fact that I was alone in a room with Sean. My body let out a cry of relief as soon as it collided with the soft mattress and instantly I shut my eyes, tugging the heavy duvet over my body. I sighed, feeling myself giving away to sleep when my peace was shattered by Sean’s voice, just beside my ear. Eyes flying open, I threw him a look of annoyance.

“Hey,” Sean defended, “I’m just giving you some pills.”

I frowned, “Sorry,” I apologised, “what pills?”

“Aspirin,” he replied, “for your headache.”

I nodded, taking the glass of water and pills he held out gratefully. After swallowing down the white pills, I smiled slightly, “Thanks…you know for actually…coming after me and everything.”

Sean shrugged, “Hey anything to keep you out of trouble Lanter.”

He grinned, walking over to the door and turned the handle, yanking his arm back but nothing happened. The door stayed put, not budging an inch and for the first time since I had begun to tutor Sean and agreed to this whole becoming popular business, I heard him curse out, and this time it wasn’t a corrected ‘shoot’, but an easily vulgar and probably a no-no word which my mother casually threatened to throw me out of the house if I ever used it.

“Shit,” he hissed.

I sat up, rubbing my eyes, “What’s wrong with the door?”

Sean tensed his shoulders, yanking the door again, but after a few more attempts, it proved to be futile. Sean turned to me with a grimace, “The door to the sick room can only be opened from outside.”

“W-What,” I stuttered.

“We are locked in,” Sean pronounced each word slowly; “I can’t believe I forgot about the stupid door!”

“You mean we’re in here…until someone…opens it from outside?” I asked.

Sean nodded. Without pausing to think about my headache or the fact that I probably was going to need to pee soon, I bolted out of the bed and began to hit my fists onto the door, screaming for anyone to hear. Sean just looked at me for a moment, before he imitated my actions and began to pound his fists onto the wooden door. Unfortunately for us, no one seemed sober enough or awake to bother to investigate the loud noise we were making.

“This can’t be happening,” Sean groaned.

I sighed, “It can’t be that bad right?” I asked, trying to make the situation lighter.

“No, you’re right, it’s worse,” Sean mumbled, “remember I told you about the ghost rooms?”

I nodded, but before Sean could say anything, I suddenly understood the hidden meaning of the name coined in honour of the room. My cheeks flushed red and I could sense Sean looking away in embarrassment as the loud moans vibrated through the walls. I shuddered in disgust, my hands automatically going over my ears as I turned to look for an escape. Sean groaned again, before he moved passed me and stuck his arm under the bed and pulled out a bottle of vodka.

“I know you probably won’t drink this after you know,” Sean started, “but it’s better than-”

Another loud moan moved through the walls, causing me to grab the bottle out of Sean’s hands and gulping down the liquid without diluting it.

Laughter filled the room, as I clutched my stomach. Sean turned to me, grinning drunkenly up at me as he flapped his arms up and down, trying to do the funky chicken in slow-motion. I felt my tears stinging with tears as I laughed uncontrollably, watching Redwood’s bad boy trying to dance like a crazy, drunken fool with nothing but the sound of himself doing a hopeless job of beat-boxing for music. He laughed with me, before stopping to take in a deep breath.

“Come on Lanter,” he called, “you’ve got to dance too!”

I chuckled, “No way,” I gasped, taking in a breath after laughing, “In hell!”

Sean pouted, his features exaggerating in his half-drunk state, “Aww, you’re no fun!”

I frowned, “I am so fun!”

“Oh yeah?” he challenged.

“Yeah,” I retorted, “I’m so fun that I was named the queen of fun,” I added, sticking my tongue out at him.

Sean grinned, “Then dance with me Lanter.”

I laughed, standing up onto my feet, “Fine then, and you’ll see,” I giggled; “I so own fun.”

After flapping our arms in slow-motion, while bobbing our heads out of tune with Sean’s bad beat-boxing, we both stopped, laughing until tears were rolling down our cheeks. Sean gasped for air, collapsing onto the bed, laughing his head off while I tried doing the robot. Misjudging my footing, I tripped over my own two feet, going flying towards the bed and landing with a solid ‘oomph’ onto Sean.

For a moment, we just stared at each other, before I slowly rolled off of him, falling onto my back next to him on the bed. We laid there in comfortable silence, just staring up at the ceiling; the only sounds were now coming from our ragged breathing. I bit my lip in thought, my mind going back to earlier when Dave seemed more than glad to teach Amanda how to dive. I frowned. Are you really going to let yourself turn into those jealous girlfriends Viv?

“Hey Sean,” I called out uncertainly in the semi-darkness.

“Yeah,” Sean answered; his voice closer than I expected it to be.

I sucked in a breath, feeling the alcohol still buzzing in my veins, but not as strong as I expected it to be, “Do you think that it’s…silly of me…to be jealous of…” I laughed nervously, “Dave being with other girls?”

When Sean didn’t answer straight away, I laughed again, this time for being stupid, “Never mind, I just sound like a jealous girlfriend…I shouldn’t have asked.”

Sean suddenly spoke, “Don’t say that Lanter. Dave would be an idiot to leave you for another girl.”

In spite of the nagging feeling about Dave, I smiled at Sean’s words, which he had expressed sincerely.

“You mean that?” I asked.

He turned to me, his face inches away from mine, “Of course I mean that,” he whispered, “but if you tell anyone about this heart-to-heart at school then I’m going to tell everyone you danced the funky chicken in slow-mo.”

I scoffed, rolling my eyes in amusement, “Please, who will they believe?”

Sean laughed, before we both settled back into comfortable silence. Sighing I leaned back into the bed, glad that someone thought that I wasn’t exactly a disaster case and sure that Dave cheating on me would be totally uncalled for. For a second I felt Sean’s eyes on me, causing me turn to look at him. My instincts had proven me right, because Sean’s hazel were locked with mine. Suddenly I realised just how close we were and alone. No one seemed to know where we were and no one had seemed to have realised that we were locked in together.

Instantly my heartbeat picked up and my skin broke out into goosebumps. I shivered slightly, causing Sean to move closer, his hot breath fanning across my face, making my eyes to shut from the action. Without being deliberate, my body moved slowly towards his, my stomach doing silly somersaults as I felt Sean’s finger slowly trail down my jawline. I let out a soft sigh, feeling his finger trail down to my lips, and then stopped.

My eyes slowly opened, and I stifled a gasp. Sean’s face was less than a hairline’s breadth away, his eyes trained on my face as though he was examining each feature like it was a precious jewel. I allowed my eyes to trail down his Greek God-like face, taking in his messy hair and strong nose, along with an angular jaw and full, soft lips. I swallowed, feeling my heart racing through my chest and wondered if Sean could hear it.

It happened before I realised that it was. My eyes closed as Sean’s lips melted against mine, setting my body alight with fire. My hands slowly moved up, my fingers tangling themselves in Sean’s hair as he deepened the kiss. My lips parted, allowing his tongue entrance and it eagerly dived into my mouth, tracing my tongue, slowly caressing each bit, with slow and deliberate movements. I let out a moan into Sean’s mouth, feeling my body go numb with pleasure as he continued to kiss me.

My body burned with desire, as Sean moved his mouth away from mine, before lowering it onto it again. He slowly kissed my lips, a soft peck before sliding his mouth over my lower lip. I frowned slightly, my voice coming out as a low moan. I wanted more, why had he stopped? I was silenced when Sean’s teeth slowly grazed my lip, a soft nibble and then he bit slightly harder, causing my breathing to hitch. My hands fell onto his wide shoulders as I clutched tightly, feeling my body shake with undeniable pleasure.

I felt Sean smirk over my lips, before he let his lips drop onto my neck, sucking slightly before he allowed his fingers to brush at the end of my shirt. I gasped softly, arching my back as he hesitantly let his fingers trail higher until my abdomen was exposed. I gasped, feeling Sean’s mouth moving lower until it covered my navel. My hands found their way, resting against his neck, as he worked his mouth up to mine again.

Pulling away slowly, Sean whispered against my lips, “You look beautiful right now Vivienne.”

A/N Hey there Geeklings! I really didn't think I was going to upload and then I started writing and writing and writing...and i ended the whole chapter and realised OMG I actually wrote 4720 words! Who the f!@# knew that I could write that much? Okay, so yeah I know like the first half of the chapter is totally boring and I would so love it if you tell me why you thought it was (but if you don't think it was boring then I swear I'll marry you). Alright, enough blabbering, what did you think of the whole Dave thing? The game of 'Never have I ever'? What about Amanda? Is she really as much of an airhead as Jules sees her as? And now for the nice part...the steamy-ish makeout!!! Eepness! I did not blush not even once when I wrote that, although I did feel all weird and whacked out after reading it...but then again, that's just me. You peeps are awesome for reading this! Remember to vote, comment and spread the word birdies!

PS: Could you read The Player for me? *smiles shyly*

PPS: Who else has watched Magic Mike?? That was some hot shiznit!
